Clock reference in the rap is something people often miss interpret. The clock strikes midnight, the 1am, 2am the half past 3am, meaning he's been writing for more than 3 hours trying to get the perfect lyrics in paper
"I'm gonna make you hate me because you ain't me." Love that he turned it away from simply a consequence of becoming successful, instead making it sound like his goal is making everyone hate/envy him and being successful is simply a consequence of achieving that goal.
I remember watching a show where Em was being interviewed and he actually showed like all kinds of actual notebooks, I’m talking prob hundreds. Like trunks full of stuff. This song is off the 8 Mile soundtrack. His character's name is Jimmy Smith/B-Rabbit. This is the perspective from Jimmy Smith. "...the clock stikes midnight, 1 - 2 then half past 3. This half ass rhyme..." referring the late nights he's up writing that the time flys by and its midnight then 1 AM then 2 AM then 3:30 AM (half past 3). He's still not happy with what he wrote. Imagine rapping and rhyming about writers block. Writing about not being able to write. Something about that is so amazing to me.
Jimmy smith is also the name of Eminem’s character. Didn’t know he was a baseball player. Hahaha been watching you guys for while and I do love the raw actually reaction. Can tell it’s most of y’all’s first time reacting lol. One of my favorites to watch!
Jimmy Smith was his character in 8 Mile. This song was on the 8 Mile soundtrack. That album is hard af. Check it out.
“Hailies song” , “97 Bonnie and Clyde” and “Guilty Conscience” by Eminem , some of his earlier songs I think y’all would like reacting to , some good story telling in those so if havnt heard them before would definitely add them to the list , y’all killing the reactions , always look forward to them
Guilty conscience
Yes!!! I've been waiting for this one guys such a fucking classic
I’m still gonna keep requesting a Nas - “Rewind” reaction because that one deserves to be done. I think it would be fun to see if you guys could figure out the story from the actual beginning to end cuz he spits the story backwards in this track.
As far as D12 and Eminem’s - “My Band” would be a fun because the whole song is practically a conversation amongst each other be they rapping the conversation pretty much
rewind is easily one of the most slept on tracks of all time
@@samueld5418 it really is. I don’t think people realize how difficult it is to really tell a story backwards like he did and make it flow nicely. The creativity behind it was crazy, even some of the dialogue in the story he’s telling was backwards
he was happy at the end of 8 mile cause he gained the respect of the people that doubted him. and the last scene is supposed to imply that he's gonna go on to bigger and better things very soon. aka getting signed.
Clock reference in the rap is something people often miss interpret. The clock strikes midnight, the 1am, 2am the half past 3am, meaning he's been writing for more than 3 hours trying to get the perfect lyrics in paper
"I'm gonna make you hate me because you ain't me."
Love that he turned it away from simply a consequence of becoming successful, instead making it sound like his goal is making everyone hate/envy him and being successful is simply a consequence of achieving that goal.
Always good to hear you do someone new... Oh never mind this is Eminem for the hundredth time.
This was the movie in a song. You nailed near the end, he’s rapping as Jimmy Smith aka rabbit on this track. 🔥🔥🔥
Jimmy Smith is Eminem’s character in 8 Mile.
I remember watching a show where Em was being interviewed and he actually showed like all kinds of actual notebooks, I’m talking prob hundreds. Like trunks full of stuff. I still love real notebooks and writing things down. There’s a good feeling when it comes to avoiding technology sometimes and just being in your own head for a bit.
Love watching from NJ! Yous gotta listen to “Business” and “Fast lane”
eminem & d12- MY WORDS ARE WEAPONS. great song
Finally! Been requesting this one for a while haha. Dope reaction! Maybe Space Bound or Puke next🤙
These r the best reaction vids on you tube hardly ever miss a bar
the fact that i found out about this channel through that 1 nhl reaction than finding out y’all react to eminem i had to watch all them reactions man
There's something I love about the rhyme of 'make 'em tense' and 'chain link fence', he makes it rhyme and it's a 3 syllable rhyme
Rabbit run is one of my favorites and underrated
U guys saved me from boredom at work on lunch break 🙏
"Cyanide I spit to the grave" the lyrics are wrong on the video and Jimmy Smith is his character name in 8 Mile it's Jimmy (B Rabbit) Smith this was a song off the soundtrack lol it was based off the movie and the chick name is Britanny Murphy may she rest in peace
Just came on my Feed and You guys got some series energy and Eminem been one of my favorites (1995-2010 Eminem).. But try to dip more in D12 songs. He go crazzzyyyyyyyy
One of his greatest song
One of his best songs.
You guys are great! 1 2 and half past 3 is 3:30 am. midnight, 1am, 2am, 3:30am. I think he was just being creative with his rhymes. But he is up late working on his craft with writers block as someone else mentioned.
As the world turns.. 🔥🔥🔥
Has always been one of my favorites song by Brabbit
It’s “peel the dutch” and it’s off the 8 mile soundtrack
Dude on the left had it right. Those lyrics are wrong
Wicked Ways is absolutely 🔥 y'all would love that one.
One of Em's most underrated songs...
The beginning of the song is building up; the beat, and the rhymes. Eminem is actually riding the beat. Tempo and all.
This song goes so hard.. it’s just bars.. no chorus.. Eminem spazzed
Facts , y’all on point with saying current Eminem is more punchline and metaphors with his writing whereas older Eminem is more hard flow and punching rhymes

the clock strikes midnight (12 o'clock) then 1 meaning 1am then 2am and half past 3 (3:30am). Hes describing how hes sitting there struggiling to come up with lyrics, times passing by but nothing. He even adds in paper ripping sounds to show how hes getting no where, desperate at his desk.
Bro I was like did these dudes say 6am midnight lmaoooo
Best ever. Jimmy Smith is his character in 8 Mile.
Y'all need to start scheduling these (so we get a notification) and running them live so your viewers can chat real-time, because we've got the facts you're asking for in these videos.
Jimmy Smith was B-Rabbit's real name in the 8 Mile movie.
This song is part of the 8 Mile soundtrack album.
Y’all should do D12 words are weapons
Eminem kings never die reaction and Eminem phenomenal!! This is a must. R no Eminem fans requesting this?
This song is off the 8 Mile soundtrack. His character's name is Jimmy Smith/B-Rabbit. This is the perspective from Jimmy Smith.
"...the clock stikes midnight, 1 - 2 then half past 3. This half ass rhyme..." referring the late nights he's up writing that the time flys by and its midnight then 1 AM then 2 AM then 3:30 AM (half past 3). He's still not happy with what he wrote. So he rips the page out the notebook and starts over.
Thanks for going after my request guys :)

Easily one of my top 5 favorite em songs, it’s actually the one that got me listening to him
jimmy smith (B rabbit) was his characters name also
murder murder... one of my top 5 fav eminem songs.
and no apologies
Gotta do "no apologies" next. Lets Go!
This song is from the 8 mile soundtrack and it is Eminem rapping as B Rabbit character (whose name in the movie is Jimmy Smith). Hence the line “Jimmy Smith ain’t a quitter”
