I've been a r fan since the SSLP but I loved Encore still do didn't find out till years later it wasn't well received. my favorite is the SSLP and I feel like Encore is the closest album to it, everyone is say the new album will be SSLP2 but I think that was Encore. I go back and listen and get past the accents stylistically is very similar to the SSLP I think.

This song shows how great Eminem really is. Dude made a song literally just dicking around and literally hit pockets and lyrical content nobody could replicate at all literally the song that solidified his standing at the number one spot for me.

The chicken tuna line was in reference to Jessica Simpson on her reality show with Nick Lachey back then. One of the most memorable moments when she was talking about chicken of the sea tuna and was like “is this chicken or is this tuna”. He made fun of her on the track calling her an airhead “stuck a pen in Jessica’s head and walked away” then references the chicken tuna moment that everyone made fun of lol

Being 12 at the time this album dropped, I was probably one of the few who appreciated this album and understood what was happening. Although with the following 2 releases which I believe was Relapse and Recovery, not so much. But a few years later down the road I started to appreciate those albums as well. It was probably the pop aspect that really threw me off at the time. Encore still get's sht'd on to this day. But it's funny watching people come around after 20 years when it comes to hindsight.
I thought it was hilarious when I read the lyrics. I laughed way harder at watching you get offended momentarily. I laughed hard!

Basically Encore was supposed to be a continuation of The Eminem Show, and on UA-cam there is an official tracklist of the original version of Encore songs, but apparently A Friend's of Nathan (Eminem's brother) lekaed a song (or a bunch of them) (idk).... And when Eminem found out about it, he was pissed af.... Cuz since the album was supposed to be a continuation of TES - it was actually much more mature and serious... But also as Eminem was pissed he thought that he has to start writing the album from scratch and so he started doing so... But the most actual thing is that he was on drugs most of the time while recording this album so probably that's the actual reason why the whole promotion and the album is what it is today
When I first heard this I loved it, Even now in my late 30's it's still in my top 5 Em tracks.
I believe this song was made because he had some tracks leak and just had to come op with something to replace the leaked songs.
