    Malaysia is amazing! It's so much of the amazing things Singapore does and has at a massively lower price. The food is incredible like Singapore, just cheaper. The beautiful greenery is everywhere like Singapore, just cheaper and less density of people. I've been telling friends and family the same thing you mentioned also, that the hotels are INSANE value! I proposed to my filipina wife in an amazing hotel in Johar Bahru Malaysia 5 years ago when she was working in Singapore. The hotel was less than $100 usd a night and it would have absolutely been $750-1500 a night here depending on the area of the US you looked. I look forward to seeing more of Malaysia one day. I wish we would have spent more time there and less in Singapore. Can't wait to see more vlogs from there! 👍👍

    Yea, you don't have to wear masks outdoors but we are so used to it that you find a lot of people still wearing masks. If you want to enjoy nature and the unique animals of the jungle best to go to Sarawak in Borneo. And if you like islands and climb the tallest mountain (Mt Kinabalu ) then you should go to Sabah, Borneo. From KL you should make a trip to Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands and visit the food heaven of Penang. Duty free island of Langkawi...are some of the must go places.

    I would recommend a visit to Putrajaya which is just outside of KL and can be reached by train or bus. It's surprising that more tourists don't visit.

      We wonder about these kind of things too and we are not even sure what we will do in the future to be honest. But we do plan to have a kid or kids possibly in about 2 years time so there will definitely be some form of settling down. But I imagine we could do a bit of a mix of having a base and traveling but it all depends really. Even traveling now there are still pros and cons just like having a normal 9 to 5 life has its pros and cons. Sometimes being in one place longterm and having routines is actually nice: being able to workout, having hobbies besides traveling, spending time with family and friends, many things. Even while having an amazing time traveling we still miss these things but right now our urge to travel is more I guess.

    We HV the oldest tropical rainforest in the world. Almost 3 times older than Amazon at between 130m to 140m years old. The real Jurassic park. Yes humidity is high especially the jungle. Eco park is the only virgin jungle in a city.

    On 7 September 2022 (Wednesday), mask-wearing became optional in all indoor places in Malaysia! this was announced by our Health minister himself. so its great to finally get the fresh air inside the malls again. Not required, but highly encouraged to wear if u feel unsafe.

    • @jshepard152
      @jshepard152 Рік тому

      You pretty much nailed it, since thin paper surgery masks are all about feelings. Studies have shown they are wildly ineffective at best, and as you'll see in this video, most people don't wear them properly, so they aren't effective at all.

    You mentioned about going Borneo. If you're in for adventure, try add mount Kinabalu into your bucket list. It is the tallest mountain in South east Asia, will take a day hike to the top it be worth it and the view from the are spectacular . But if you're interested just to see mountain, drive up to Kundasang a hilly place in Sabah. The view of the mountain absolutely stunning.

      It's not actually a day hike anymore. Park authorities made it compulsory to spend a night near the peak, so it's been a two-day hike for quite some time (Since 2010, at least).

    You should try to go to the Botanical Gardens in the city - I remember it was so beautiful & the monkeys run all over the place. It's been 20 yrs since I was there. I stayed a long way out & took a train into the centre. That is how you see the real local areas not all that city glam. I also went to Pankor Island with beautiful beach.

    KL and, indeed, much of Malaysia, is very nice. A little further afield from KL, you might try some other locations. Melaka is very nice, right on the coast. It’s a World Heritage site with some great food. Penang is another great place. Again, a section of Georgetown is a World Heritage site. There’s lots of street art to view, and Penang Hill has some excellent views and hiking. The food here rivals anything in KL and is probably now even more “authentic” than what’s found in Singapore (and Singapore has fantastic food). Lastly, for a little Diamond in the rough, Ipoh, located about halfway between KL and Penang is set very close to the Cameron Highlans, a beautiful mountainous area. Ipoh has its own food culture as well.

    Not sure when you guys were here. As of September 8th, indoor masking wasn't/isn't required with exception of some premises may still require their customers to do so, and hospitals, public transport still have that mandate, otherwise, indoor or outdoor aren't. We usually don't use them indoor nor outdoor. But majority of Malaysians prefer to have them on. :)
