I did a four-month backpacking trip from Laos to Indonesia, and Kuala Lumpur was one of my favorite places. Malaysia has such a diversity of cultures and foods.
I enjoyed Jalan Alor and the incredible Malaysian dishes. The Indian food I found in Malaysia was amazing. However, I must add that KL's Chinatown is one of the best I've visited. I had many delicious food I've never had before.
Here, you can visit the Hindu Batu Caves, the National Mosque of Malaysia, Buddhist Thean Hou Temple, and Taoist temples - which I did. They were all so cool.
By the way, there is another cave to the left of those rainbow steps and golden Murugan statue which displays statues depicting important stories of Shiva. It was my first exposure to the epic tale of Ramayana which I saw time and time again throughout my trip - not sure whether you recall seeing it when you were in Indonesia.

Hi Chris and Carol… we had a good laugh when you said the crocodile and frog tasted like chicken! Lol… we are the Canadians traveling to Malaysia (for 4 months) departing Vancouver on November 15. We are really enjoying watching all of your videos but especially the Malaysia ones. We plan to base ourselves in Penang. 😎🥸

Oh our favourite city in all of Asia - Kuala Lumpur is amazing: the city, nature, doctors (we had perfect dental treatments there!), food, the vibe, best AirBnB in the world, people... Every time we are in Asia, we use it as our hub. Thanks for bringing back amazing memories. By the way, we stayed in an AirBnB in the same building as you guys did! :-) Enjoy your time in Penang - wonderful island with awsome food!

The Thai food bit has an interesting story. We have Kelantanese Malays, which live near the border of Thai-Malaysia. They are known to be business minded people and you can find them in any place in Malaysia. As the travel throughout Malaysia, they bring together their culture and foods, and that also means the stuff they get from cultural exchange with the Thais.
The thing is, if you ask any Thai people about Thai food in Malaysia, most of the time they will say that the food we consider as Thai food, is actually not available in Thailand (aside from Tom Yum). In other sense, Thai food in Malaysia is just Kelantanese food with heavy influence from Thailand lol. For example, Pattaya fried rice. Despite the obvious Thai name (Pattaya is a province in Thailand), there's no such thing as Pattaya fried rice in Pattaya. It is just a culinary invention from Kelantanese people. Similar with roti canai. Most Malaysians will say roti canai is from Mainlaind India, but Mainland Indian people will say that our roti canai has evolved too far and complex compared to the ones in India (roti paratha).

In Malaysia's beaches, rivers, waterfalls - it is totally fine for you to just jump in wearing any t-shirts and short pants or track bottoms : male or females (very convenient isn't it?). Malaysians are modest and most of us try not to be flashy or "too revealing" in any way. Just bring spare shirts/pants for you to change on the way back. Here in Malaysia, do enjoy yourself without being too self-conscious on how you look. As long as you are clean, decent and modest, you are fine. Private swimming pools (hotels' etc) are different though - you do have to comply to certain local (still very relax) rules. Enjoy and take care guys.

Yes it’s kind of a shame that you guy had to walk all the way in the heat and humidity but didn’t get the reward of cooling down in the waterfall. A spare of shorts and t-shirt would have done the job. ✌🏼

Actually Malaysia has the second largest tourism arrivals from all over the world after Thailand, in Southeast Asia.
In the first 6 months of 2022., Malaysian tourist arrivals were equal to Thailand. This is based on ASEAN statistics. The first time in more than 10 years that Malaysia has matched Thailand in tourist arrivals. 🙂 Of course both countries are ahead of the other countries in Southeast Asia.

The place to jump is more sacred than many, the food is exceptionally delicious, and the people are happier. So here you are specially drawn to Greater Kuala Lumpur to be your heavenly home with those who are more complete than you have been. Tell everyone and invite everyone to be your only judge in heaven, not the fault of the rich or very rich countries of the world. Visit the rich and see how lavish they are in your stressful life, making you lose the envy of ill-advised spending, never ending. Consuming high-end alcohol and drugs allows you to have a good time in entertainment and wake up repeatedly for this unique oblivion. However, cheers.

7:53 I'm not entirely sure why, but I think the noodles are just filled with veggies because hindus are vegetarians.
