    Oh man Randy, you had me yelling and laughing at my television with this hunt! "... warning shots!" LMBO!

      I had a broken rear ring on my scope mount. That rifle had killed so many critters, I was dumbfounded when I missed two layups in a row. The third shot I held really low and still hit him in the neck. Got luck. Fixed that ring when I got home and all was fine.

    It's easy to see that antelope is your favorite hunt. I've seen a lot of your videos now and I haven't seen you shaking that bad on anything else. You could barely hang on to those binoculars! That was so fun seeing you get so excited. Mr. Calm and cool Randy was no where to be seen that day!🤣

    I've been on enough hunts now that I wonder when I'll finally stop shaking when I see the animal I want. It's awesome to see even a guy like Randy gets that rush. I guess I'd better just get used to it.

    Bi-pods are necessary when you are in sagebrush but not the best set up for a solid rest. Randy had his extended which makes them even more unsteady so in reality he did a good job he got his animal.

      +fasx56 - And considering I had cracked my rear scope ring and did not realize it, hitting this buck was a huge miracle. The camera guy told me the first two shots were very high. I held bottom of chest on the third shot and it killed the buck. Embarrassed to not have known that problem before hand. Good luck to you this season.

      I use Mystery Ranch packs. This video was a Crew Cab (no longer made). I now use a Metcalf model.

    Randy and because you were so nervous man? You have had to wait quiet before he will loose the first shot; you saw those nerves are awash, it is normal excited but you have to calm down, but fell to third shot. I congratulate you. Tell me that caliber Remington 700 that is? I saw it as a 30-06 SPRG ..

    • @Fresh_Tracks
      @Fresh_Tracks  8 років тому +3

      It was a .270 Win, with a broken scope ring on the back end. That is why I missed the first two shots, way high. The camera guy told me how high, so the last shot I held low, under the body. When we got home, I could not get it sighted in at the range and noticed a cracked scope ring. Had never seen it before, or since. Thanks for watching.

      Randy Newberg, Hunter Imagine that, and not you notice before heading out to hunt. I hunted a lot with 270 Win and 270 Wby Mag both cartridges and 130 gr is impresionante.pero with different speeds, plus I do my own cartridges. I am currently using the 25-06 Rem which is a very suitable for antilope cartridge.

    Why would you want to kill such a beautiful animal? I like to see them alive and running.

    • @Fresh_Tracks
      @Fresh_Tracks  8 років тому +18

      I eat them. They are my favorite of all meat. I can't eat them, or any other plant/animal, and allow it to stay alive. I too love to seem them alive and running, which is why I devote a lot of money and a lot of my time to advocating on behalf of all wildlife and the lands they need.

    • @jago76
      @jago76 8 років тому

      Glad you advocate for protecting wildlife as well as habitat. I do too, but prefer to see these graceful animals running alive and wild.

      Not sure what to make of your first comment. I doubt it is a suggestion that I get my protein from the industrial food system and all the known complications that come with that.
