Glad that you showed your interaction with the land owner. Important tip 👌 for new hunters. Having a landowner speak highly of you and your group can get you permission again.
great to see the landowners make it on the show. The relationship between hunters and land owners/managers it critical and not nearly celebrated enough.
What I really like about Meat Eater is the lack of overt product placement. You get the sense that the occasional brand name they flash is for products they actually use and trust. Though the gun geek in me would love a show just on their firearms.
They got a special Weatherby Vanguard Meateater edition rifle that they use and released last year. It has a few nice touches that are different than the regular Vanguard rifle.
I wish the video of my first pronghorn hunt was this good. If there’s one thing tougher than stalking pronghorn it’s doing it while trying to get on video haha. If anyone hasn’t ever eaten pronghorn, you’re missing out!! Great episode, I love these meateater hunts episodes.
One thing with game which has been butchered and frozen and/or cooked without aging, is to cook the cut . . . then let it rest in the fridge for say 48 hours. Comes out nice and tender. No harm to the flavor. Thanks for a great episode.
These hunt vidz are fantastic for a Friday afternoon drink and cigar on the patio. Plz keep em comin and man i get HUNGRY watching you guys enjoy the spoils of your hunts.✌😋
Nice thing about pronghorns is that when you see them at dark , they will be in the same place in the morning !! I have camped on them and harvested in the AM..
Brothers in Law, hunting, and, well, prob a whole lot of overlaps in life, chill pres, yah, love the chill and the experienced dude towards the end, feeding his kids top-Quality meat, BA, through'n through
I live in Columbus and had to Google a picture of "our" Cameron Mitchell to make sure it wasn't the same guy. Haha. Would've been crazy to find out that he was Janis's brother-in-law after all these years!
I’ve shot two antelope and they have both been under 100 yards and one hunt lasted 10 minutes they other 4 hours. Lol. Best thing about antelope is the taste. They are yummmmmy.
@@blaynemacpherson8519 so I've heard... it was not a cool moment. There must have been 20 of them crossing the highway. They raced the truck, and tried to cross ahead of us. They are not a bright animal.
@@michaelbeal1400 I’ve had a similar situation with them and deer. But they didn’t cross until we were almost stopped. They aren’t the Einstein of the animal kingdom until day three/four of a hunting season then they are friggin Stephen Hawkins.
@@seanlemons5423 out west that's not a lot of country when you can see 500 acres of it in a couple hours because it's nothing but grass and sage brush.
I'm hoping to one again draw for a pronghorn muzzleloader hunt this year in east Idaho. I was able to harvest my first one in 2019. Fingers crossed I'll get that chance again this year.
Good luck on the draw. I kill a many hours at work day dreaming about my quota draw and what to put in for. It’s a special kind of disappointment when I get the rejection email. Feels like when I didn’t make the cut for the basketball team.
Where is Steve? I haven’t seen an episode by him in a while. Not that you’re bad Janis!! Keep on hunting! Just like the jokes from Steve’s goofy personality
The secret to pronghorn hunting in Northern Montana is to have super sniper shooting abilities; my last one was a 1000 yard, and hope they stand still for 15 seconds
@@aaronanderson8491 Luckily we have a spot that's out of view from the road that animals constantly get pushed into. The best part about meat eater is how relaxing the show is to watch. No BS hype, just good ole fashioned filming. I appreciate it.
All the while a damn good job on editing keeping the viewer in the hunt, in the moment with the meateater crew. Love these guys
Good point about the non hype. Just guys huntin.
It's so good that I won't even watch it on my phone, I wait to watch them on my actual TV...
Reminiscent of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom
Right. It's much more enjoyable watching a show that isn't an infomercial for hunting products.
Cameron is an old friend and I've eaten his wild game dishes several times. I guarantee you, that sauce was crazy good. Great episode, thanks!
These are the episodes that I enjoy watching and helps me as a hunter, appreciate going from the field to the table. Great job!!!!
Well said.
Same here! I think my favorite is the cooking portion of the episodes.

The best part of Meat Eater is Steve and his running commentary.

@Logan Mccoy contract issues would be my guess

Pretty sure they are sponsored by weatherby these days. Used to be Savage, they ran the 110 and 116's. Pretty sure crew uses the MK 5 thoe.
That’s what the podcast is for brother
talking about gear... anyone happen to know what kind of pants those are (the ones with the integrated knee pads)?

Congratulations Cameron! Great episode guys.

Lol….it’d be weird for you to be on some south Texas ranches👍🏻 I’ve been on 50k before
I thought the same thing!! My "big" hunting property in N.Y. is 120!!
Enjoy this episode. Pronghorn has a special mystique, plus love seeing where food comes from.
What an awesome guy that land owner was! Super genuine. Hard to find the good souls like that these days.
Another great episode. I like that you include the struggles, not just the successes. Nice cookbook on the shelf behind you, Janis.
Congratulations Cameron on your first pronghorn antelope! Can't wait to hear the story around a camp fire and a few fingers of Bulleit!
Janis should get his own show!
Do you ever see a big giant fat girl and wonder if she can wipe her ass property or not?
Get that ole poop biscuit surprise

Props on the prep. Totally our style here in the East Kootenays. Just no Antelope.
Rocket goats!
Geoff Walton seems like a really nice guy to have a beer with!
2:01 caught a collared one!

Great people in montana.
It’s probably my favorite state. I’d love to move there.
Antelope don’t jump fences. That makes a fence line or corner a good set up if you are on the legal side. Love the goat hunting.
All I know is I love Montana. Kind of unrelated.

is there a recipe online for the sauce?
What temp on oven?
And how much brown sugar?

What type of pant do you use that has the knee pads as an integral part?
I hang deer, elk an antelope. 7 to 10 days. Beef 21 days. Makes the meat tender an tasty. Never got to hunt moose but would hang it to
