shinerbop, the reason it is not advised to clean a bore from the muzzle end (with a cleaning rod) is that repeated contact and rubbing of the cleaning rod could possibly wear the rifling rendering the gun less accurate. it's advised to always clean from the chamber when possible.
Screw the toothbrush for the lower, hose it out with brake cleaner or electronics cleaner. If you have compressed air so much the better use it. Spray the cleaner inside THEN use the toothbrush. then hose it out once more and wipe everything you can reach. One drop of oil on each pin, and you are done with the lower.
SORRY PRESS THE WRONG KEY - FIRING PIN IS easy, PUSH OUT THE PIN, in the bolt. the firing pin spring and firing pin will fall out. To reasemble, put the spring back in humped side UP. You can remove the extractor but its Hella tough, and you need a vice and strong hands! I removed it twice to change extractors its a real PITA. I hose it off with brake cleaner and scrub the area, good enough usually.
I nee to do replacement/repair on my Ruger Mark 1 22. Target Pistol (34 years old). Where would you suggest getting parts? And since this is going to be my first attempt at gun smithing, is replacing the Hammer and Hammer Strut going to present to much required experience to do this myself? Again, I don't even know where to get the parts? DUH... Thanks!

@mochafreak111 Its not aluminum, its stainless steel ( I have a SS Mark III myself) but it still wont rust.
@mikethenascarfan not if it's a soft metal, and made for that bore.

If you got an aerosol can of Remoil or whatever spray it into the trigger group, you'll get alot of shit out of it
good
Yeah but what about the firing pin and shit
Who in the hell don't know how to put oil on a pad?
You wear out your .22's faster by cleaning them too much.
THAT'S EASY,
