How To Make Alt/Jazz Rap Like Mac Miller | Circles/Swimming Era Cookup

In this video we'll be creating an Alt Rap/Jazz Rap beat from scratch. Mac Miller was a big inspiration for me as a music producer and the sounds and songwriting he produced on the last two albums before his tragic passing were outstanding.
In this video, I'll use live instruments, acoustic drums and vintage-inspired instruments and synthesizers to create a beat from scratch with that authentic human feel that can be tough to achieve when working strictly inside a DAW.

It's Studio One 6 and yeah you're right it's basically a mix, I used to use Pro Tools but the Midi was awful so can deffo recommend this DAW. Thank you man, glad you're liking the videos!

It's super easy with those libraries, it's really just about adding a nice amp sound (I use TH-U) and keeping the parts realistic to what a real guitarist could play! Next time I use it in a video I'll add a little more explanation in there!
