I'm 37 with a 50 thousand dollar home production/recording setup at home and have been producing since I was in high school. This was very inspiring and true. I just got out the Army and have found which avenue I'm taking my music to, as I now have the time, dream setup with all kinds of Moogs, Yamaha, Rolands, Elektrons, vintage mic clones, etc-etc... I've been hoping to gain focus and this video is definitely saved to my favorites to adhere to and come back to. Hell, I've even been wanting to document my new journey on UA-cam. Just need a good enough camera to do so.
Thanks.
You have great microphones, and a great camera in your pocket. Use your phone and show us what you're up to!
your story sounds really interesting, i think you could do very well on short form style content!
Start now. No need for a fancy camera (honestly wish I didn't have to worry about mine because it's so much work to set up, record, transfer files, etc. every single time. Just more distractions lol). Like the guy above me said you have an interesting story and I know people would really enjoy your content. Best of luck to you!

Is there any way to do live videos without being in vertical mode? LOL

check out modern musician. It's an awesome company with a sweet music community with their own badass crm software that can help you monetize your music career. worth checking out!
I got depressed 2023 that my Friends online stopped playing with me in a video Game so I decided to focus my energy with my Family and Make music with ableton. 11 Months now and i got signed my very First EP a Label. Everything you said is true!
good to know
how they signed you? You sent them your music or they found you somewhere?
@@vladlabyrinth6335same question, I just wanna now how all this shit works
what video game
lol. W but be careful with labels, they’ll get you the quick way with the promise of a buck, funny that I have friends that all they wanna do is game, shit is wacky, gaming won’t get you anywhere in life.
Friends that are into music production? That's a good one.
Focus , simplicity and sacrifice
bro got that RPG meta
Wow, thank you for this video, i feel more at peace with my choice now.
I've been trying to do all the things at once for two years and all i got is a sensory overload.
Couldn't do any music for months after that until i finally decided that i just have to kill my ego, stop seeking approval from everyone and just do music because it's the thing which gives me the most of joy.
And that minecraft music in back ground haha. Thx mate it was what i needed right now.
Looking at the energy diagram. The one on the right looks like a working clock and the one on the left looks like an overworked clock
Yeah I'm totally Greg. I'm trying to mod Fallout 4, learn Blender (for my mod), make music (hobby, and for my mod), and game and edit videos. I have so many games I want to play, and so many ideas for my mod and I want to get good at making music, but I end up usually just watching videos all day because the amount of things I want to do is so overwhelming. I'm not even good at any of the stuff I do because I can't focus on learning one thing instead I work on each of things at random and not even everyday. It really does make it harder. I'm sure if I focused for one month on just one of those things I would get a lot more done but I can't because of motivation issues.
same, there’s all these shows/movies i wanna watch and games i wanna play, all while wanting to make music 😅 it can be too much sometimes
what type of mod??
@@SMEbeats It is an overhaul mod. I haven't done as much work to it as I would like, and it's been a few years since I've updated it. I am still slowly working on the next update, but the list of ideas of have (a literal list) is over 30, and I plan on making a whole main questline. I want to add tons of weapons, armors, enemies, quests, and right now I am working on re-balancing the whole game to my liking. It's an incredibly ambitious mod for one person, and I'm not sure how many of my ideas will ever actually get implemented. I'm still trying to learn how to script and use Blender. It is called R.N.G - Vendors, Bosses, Loot. My Nexus profile is MisterRADical. I am trying to do this monster of a mod while wanting to make music and play a whole bunch of games and make UA-cam videos. I haven't been doing a lot the past few months because my motivation is shte lol it was getting a lot better than AI blew up and that destroyed my motivation.
@@the0nly0n3 Always good to take a few days off of producing to just chill-out and game a bit. Nothing wrong with taking a break every so often.
You described me very well so dont take offense but its not purely a motivation problem rather discipline. I do know what you mean tho compared to the days i have the drive to hyper focus on producing music almost effortless, yes some days do feel rather unmotivated but its the discipline that makes you push further. Def agree with the guy above me tho breaks are very needed.
This one beat a day mindset isnt realistic if you plan to have a career spanning over 30 years like the isley brothers that would be like a 10,000 song discography lol and we all know its quality over quanity. Alot of rappers could make 10 albums and still not top biggies 2 albums
Magnifico! This was absolutely beautiful! No bs, just straight to the point. Thank you, your video got recommended at the right time in my life. I will update you on my journey if I ever go big :)
I have school (failing a lot). Music career, I send music to distributers by myself, I gotta use all social medias to promote but sometimes I'm lazy to post everywhere. It's really tiring, I've even taken a break on new songs, I'm stressed out & just also coz I make good songs I work hard to perfect them but still, I'm underrated 💔.
100% info and motivation, 0% BS
I'm 13, still a middle school student and im a producer trying to become an artist.
This was beautiful, thanks Akayo.
This is the best video on this topic so far I really appreciate your work.
I had the same problem as you I kept changing names all the time building new channels and personas, and I never felt fulfilled. I felt like I was on the same level all the time.
Not a year has passed and I’m trying to finally stick to one nickname and one thing I abandoned all the other stuff that distracted me like video editing, filmmaking ,voice acting.
I can finally focus on music only and I’m the type of guy that tries to get on every platform. I’m trying to minimize it right now.
If you’re reading this and you’re in a similar situation than listen and focus on one thing it’s better to become a master of one craft than an average worker of multiple.❤
Thank you for this video. It’s one of those things you conceptually know but forget quickly with the smallest distraction. I just got back to making music and needed to hear this.
Thank you bro. Really needed to hear this today. Wish you success fr 🙏🏽
I noticed once I’ve started focusing on UA-cam everything started to take off. I’m not stressed out as much because I’m understanding how the process works in order to achieve the goal. Much love ❤.
Good work on youtube it is a grind. Make sure you select "not for kids" when uploading videos. It will help you with the algorithm. And also I like the deals you are establishing, but I would put them in the comments and pin them. Make the titles simple with the type beat so the viewer doesnt get overstimulated. I wish you the best and success will come
The most simple explained video about this topic so far. I already thought a little bit in this way but u gave me the motivation that i needed. And no annoying side information, u got straight the point. I'll definitely come back later for this video.
Thank you!
Just do what you enjoy, feel free to do anything you like and have fun. Share it in some way and you’ll get the same thing while enjoying the process and being happy. (And keeping your passion, instead of making music your punishment everyday).
There’s a way to force your way to success, or just be authentic and have fun. Even if you achieve something different than you imagined, it will be the best for you.
Spot on mate. Thank you for elaborating, have a great one!
Man this was great and illustrated it perfectly. I said forget trying to make whole songs for right now. Just loops and recording vocals. Then once I have enough I’ll go back and start cleaning everything up. It’s amazing what you can get done when you look at the big picture but focus on what you can do today.
This actually helps a lot, been struggling to make music for almost a year until I posted a song, repeat until you ended up frustrated. It's really easy to get distracted from how other artists do it that you try to implement those methods in your own workstyle. Doesn't really help you at all as you're literally trying to learn things all at once while also juggling real life stuff. Might need to tone down my goals and slowly make my way up.
Bro i gotta say it again, lately your videos are forcing me to produce even knowing im stuck, keep going with this content bro!
nah fuck the content bro should actually post music, he has literally never, the “credits” in his bio are fake, his soundcloud is dead, 0 uploads, nothing on youtube, doesn’t appear on spotify… bro knows nothing about actually growing a career. he doesn’t have one.

Bro, i appreciate you and this video so much. I honestly feel just like you did/do and im just trying to convert myself into the artist i know i can be. Thanks for this vid... always keep striving. I also want to retire my parents one day... we can do it💖
Man you deserve more subscribers! Your videos are so well made.
That energy scenario was OP man ! Great job!!! 😊. I’ve cut out even going outside on the weekends to just purely focus on producing (trance genre) …. The hours put in the faster your skills grow! 🎉
This video impact myself so much in my life
Thanks you so much Akayo :3
The things we need to make it on music career
focus, simplicity, sacrifice, Tiktok, Instagram and making music
Thanks. At first I didn’t understand, but after I listened to you for few minutes, it all made sense. So thanks again and have a great day.
Such a helpful content, thanks for the clarity and the motivation bro.
Damn bro! You really motivated me to work harder! U earned another sub dude!
Thanks man, needed this a lot.
This is such a fresh take thanks so much
This is legit advice, thanks. I ran into this trap and was just starting to work my way out of it, so this advice kinda validates that I am getting back on track
Thank you bro, new follower here . Very good quality videos and a real heart to heart message
Thanks a lot Bro. That really helped 👍
I needed to hear that. Thank you.
Great advice, bro. I've seen this technique work alot, not only in music but other interests as well. Very inspiring 🎉🤝
Straight down to the point, feels like this man is speaking straight to me
You've got the right stuff, my friend. You've earned a sub. Thanks for being one of the good ones!
Man where was this advice 4-8 years ago? I was trying to produce my own beats and rap/singjay all at once and eventually gave it up because I had too many things going on that needed my attention. I can still produce but the dream of rapping, singing and deejaying/toasting is a young man’s goal. Great video!
I’m 26, just last year I discovered and started to unlock my potential in music production. Was able to put things together a little bit, I setup a small place in my room for production. I currently teach music in a school and I play and get paid in the church. But I just still feel like I wanna quit this Jobs and focus on my production.. but I really don’t know how to go about it yet. Cause I realize there’s more to producing Music.. and needs so much dedication to really speed up things
Needed to hear this before my studio session today, thank you bro
Can I send you some samples? Tell me what you want and I can wip some up.
My dude, phenomenal advice. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this
This is going to be very helpful for me. I have change my name so many times. Thanks bro
Thanks! I needed to see this💯
Underrated video bro, this was great quality you deserve more likes
Enjoyed this video very much bro, watched all the way.
Thank you Akayo this is valuable

Excellent video 🥰 ty for the tips
Thanks lil BRo, this is dope, subscribed
Great advice, great editing!
Very good message, thank you so much for this video!
thank u, God Bless! Needed this.
Well done homie! Only respect! So true with everything you say. Re-Centred me a lot! SUBSCRIBED !
Damn, that was insightful. Thank you 🙏🏽
one thing I sacrificed to get good at making music is video games. Most my time goes into music after the 9-5 grind, but I also need to work on some internet presence and networking more to get some placements. Right now the focus is just being able to create awesome music that artists will want, then I think I'm going to move into the networking build brand phase. It's a lot more work then I expected, its like a full force transformation, to do this music production career.
ty for this wonderful message bro
Thankyou bro, I know it may sound cringe what I'm about to say but honestly, if I ever make it big I'll be thanking you for this advice.
The first energy orb was literally me, thank you for the advice bro😅
I just came across your channel and thank you for sharing. I found your video inspiring.
Great video 10/10
always felt like this IRL but i never thought about this mindset professionally.
12\10 Bro
Hey this is soo useful! Really really appreciate this video . I was the first producer before I watched this video
Thanks man !
I toll agree with you bro. This video reflects my recent switch - thx man.
This is the best channel I've found in a while
Thanks for making this video I appreciate you
Thank you for the great motivational video, you kind of opened my eyes a little more 🙏❤️🔥
When I was younger I got into the habit of buying all this stuff - like the equipment is going to make me successful. Its like thinking if you got the best paint brush and best canvas, it gonna allow you to make the best painting. Nope..
That said - you still need the right stuff as far as equipment and plugins. But most of all you need the skill and understanding and have to be a decent musician.
100 percent true, everyone tryna fool us telling that we need to do lots of social media stuff, but nobody telling that they do that after achieving some goals. I saw some spotify artists profiles and their bios said that they r not active or post in social medias and they still getting numbers because they can focus on music and release through labels that giving good promotion. Prioritize your goals and stay focused on most important things, dont let anyone fool you with spraying your energy on 150 sides of music career. I know there is a lot of artists who post a lot and releasing s lot but believe me these fellas doing this kinda automatically like a habbit they r not thinking too much about it
Thanks bro. I been trying other ideas like you said. Spending all my energy… hit a plateau… if you can call it that lol.. gonna set one big goal. Thanks for the breathe of fresh air
THANK YOU, I NEEDED THIS
kid, you are so young but telling the right thing...respect!!
Brother congrats and thanks for this kinda chat it was i need
I even thought about changing my name, i thought about trying my hardest to learn and get plugins. buts ts is so much harder than we think. Fire dude, thanks a lot homie
I think this is soooo true thanks for reiterating brother!
This is a very informative video. Thank you for this
_Thanks Bro,_ I think this video going to useful for me
Helped so much. Thank u
Great video. Most people ignore the fact that I spent 10 years developing my producer skills before ever getting on UA-cam. One of the hardest lessons I’ve ever learned is “you can do anything you want, but you can only choose one”.
Very helpful. Thank you for this bro.
Thank you bro, I wish I know this when I start my music career!
great message mate 👊
great video, man. keep going.
Nice video bro just the motivation i need
Bro, you are top! Thanks for this. What a noble goal to retire your parents! Love that. All the best.
really. good. video. even though I'm kind of already doing these things, it's nice to know I'm not the only one that knows the way.
Very nice video. Professional AF.
absolutely fantastic.
Well although I really tried doing exactly what you mentioned previously (I learnt it all by my own) idk man... I'm just tired of being limited by the performance of my computer and I don't even know if I'll get the clicks if I do that :( thank you though! You're so underrated man!
I really appreciate this man, I don't even produce and this video still helped me a ton.
bro keep these up u will def blow up
Knowing your craft is more important than anything. If you're the best or one of the best, then you don't need to work as hard as others on promotion.
Woah ❤ thank you. I got nothing say. Thank you so so much. I wish you all the best. Good luck bro❤
True.
Literally just started a music channel today, ty for the advice. ❤
I lose so much focus because I try to do everything by myself I’ve asked for help but my friends won’t help they just watch my stories and continue on with life. Definitely a confidence killer.
