I put this engine on my ofna ultra mbx comp. and it runs it pretty well. of course i did lightly modified it by taking the head shim out and putting a hpi .25 cooling head on it. also running 10% nitro, 18% oil.
do you know the 4 screws that screw the heat sink to the engine? Well one of the holes that the screws scre into on top of the engine has its threads stripped. This means I loose a lot of ompression and smoke is coming out of the gap between the cooling head and heat sink. I am planning on getting a whole new engine. Or is there another way to fix this?
Maby you mentioned this in your video and I missed it but there what looks like an exhaust scavenging port that doesn't actually go anywhere. What is the purpose of this port?
@@piochu25 no, it's a port on the sleve directly opposite the exhaust. It doesn't have a corresponding channel cut in the block. It is visible for a split second at 6:02:
i have an o.s dtx18, i wanna know if the piston hole goes to the same side (facing carburator) if i change de side the hole will be to the exhaust side thanks

how did you get loose the part where the air filter sits?? working on a project with an old buggy and cant seem to remove the pin that holds it.
I can't remember to be honest it was that long ago. Is there any screwdriver fitting on it? Maybe it's just pushed in?
any ideas on removing the screws under the pull start, if they are really weak, and most likely get rounded?

Do you mean long flat port at 2:16?

Mine is going strong just screwed my cylinder head up literally I crossthreaded the glow plug
drill the bolts heads off , and unscrew with pliers
