Twist locks are the best 👌👍 Hobbico Super Hot Shot 2 or regular version, SonicTronics by McDaniels also 👌 2 of the best igniters I've ever used and never let me down always reliable.
if you pay a little more and buy a rechargeable metered glow starter you can tell if your glow plug is working without removing it from the engine as the meter needle moves into the green area if the plug is working, if not it stays in the red area.
I do have one question I got a starter box in our other losses 8 Nitro fights every time I put it on a tostada box overflowed the engine and I'm just wondering if it's because it got started about might be too much power for door if it's not enough Wawa it will start and sometime it won't me just put out the engine when I try to start it
My rc car is bad on the cold start. It takes maybe 20 spins until it will run and i think it is the glow plug becuse it dosen't glow all the way down. Could it be the glowplug? The carb is also a bit weird adjusted not by me do but its not going perfect and revs high.
They say 16h on the battery 😂 some of them anyway, I should of mentioned about the chargers actually… some are 170mha and some are up to 750mha. That’ll be for another video lol
@@HaggardRC well for that amount of time is would be thinking that the charger is only 0.100 mah so yeah 16h to charge but i think most chargers now are 0.500 mah so 4 to 5h if 1600 upto 2200 mah battery well thats what mine are
The coil is made from platinum. When platinum is hot and surrounded by methanol, which is part of the fuel mixture, it causes a catalytic process that makes the platinum glow without electricity. So it only needs electric to start the process.
Do you run at all when it’s raining Does nitro work in the rain or is that a no no I live on the west coast of Canada it rains a lot where I live Rain does not stop me from my nitro bashing but the old school AM radios those ones aren’t waterproof cars so I only use them on dry days. 😊
Rain won’t stop a nitro car dude, just be mindful of the receiver and air filter as long as they’re covered up (the shell should do the trick) then it’ll be fine!
@@HaggardRC Ohhh so cover the air filter with a air filter sock or extra cover for wet rain and muck so that does not stick to the nice clean filter That is my biggest concern When it rains on it or a splash gets the filter it all of a sudden can change even drastically sometimes. Is that the filter getting wet and being like way to wet I imagine raining is bad because the air is wet and it fills the filter up with water and clogs. I don’t know it’s really really wet here more than most places
You can buy waterproof air filters. Get one of those or put a waterproof but breathable cover over it. It’s not about it getting dirty or clogged but more water getting through it. If you’re just driving about in the rain and not going through big puddles it’ll be fine with the shell on probably :)

Great video mate 👍 I like the way you help new people on the hobby I've been into RC since the 80s but I still enjoy your videos
Love your videos you keep it simple and not overly complicated.
Thank you Johnny!

How do you choose which glow plug to buy
thank you

I'm looking to buy a glowplug but all I see is 4c not 2c which my vx 18 engine is 2c 😅 not sure what to do
So how many runs should a guy expect until the element goes stail? Til the Platinum coating wears off?
Could be anything mate, I ran my savage 21 for 15 years on the same plug but I’ve had others that lasted 2 weeks..
only charge them for around 4h as most chargers are 0.5mah and the batterys inside are 1600 to 2200 so 4 hours is full charge

Hmmm none of mine are more than 350 I don’t think. Ehhh I’ll make a video about chargers it’s more content 😂
How does it work after the the starter is removed?!? I don’t get it?

Hi mate my glow plug does glow but the tip of it does not glow is that ok?
Nah that won’t work very well, it might work alright now but it’s on its last legs
I got a new one that says it takes C size battery and it doesn't fit
Need a decent new pull starter for my 28 nitro engine could you recommend a good one to buy.thanks John.
I'm not new but I'm watching anyway.. lol
