Hey spencer. Normally I wouldn't comment, but the message you had in this video really hit home for me. I've been watching since your college days, and i'm so happy to see your persistence pay off, even when you felt like the odds were against you. Enjoy this moment and be proud of your hard work! i'm excited to see what you can do in the summer and i know for sure you will turn some heads

Spenc, I love your storytelling skills. They other day I was chatting with someone and started to share your experiences with them. I said, “a friend of mine in…”. I stopped and laughed literally out loud realizing that I have never met you. But this is a testament to you and your ability to tell your story in a way that makes us all feel like we’re a part of it.
On another note, still waiting for a way to financially contribute to your journey. Let us help :)

Thank you posting this video, I had the worst race(s) of my life yesterday. I also wanted to give up track. This video really helped me so thank you.

Really inspiring video! The point that really hit home was when you were talking about how running is such a cruel sport and that everyone is going to fail again and again and again but if you keep on getting back up the success will follow!

These moments of reflection have so much benefit for the future...
You know you can come through tough times- times that can be measured in years even !
You may have tough times in the future- athletics is like that, but whatever lies ahead- you know you can tough it out.
You've been at the bottom and dragged your arse back up- don't be surprised if you have to do it again at some point.
You're now equipped to deal with whatever the future holds... and that's a good place to be...
Someone once said there's no such thing as a bad experience... in that there's always a lesson on offer...
Your lesson was that of inner strength and belief... It will take you far... :)

Great recap and love the rekindling you've had with running as of late!...I think one thing to add to all of this would be that running just doesn't have to be about racing. You can quit racing and still run for all of the other aspects running has to offer (general health, clearing you mind, exploring somewhere outdoors, etc) 👍

Great work. I've been following you since Covid hit. I've noticed that my fitness has dropped since doing home office and then my job eneded although I kept running. What are your thoughts on cross training and general activity off track? I reckon it could be quite important for overall aerobic fitness

To be a HIGH level Competitive athlete you have to 💯% focus on body-recovery between running. The RECOVERY becomes your JOB. If you Drag your body around traveling and such and don't SLEEP, EAT, REST, MAINTAIN the body it just will NOT work.... Recovery, SLEEP, and Nutrition MUST be Priority #1. Then you'll see Impressive progressions.
