Balders gate fans playing dnd For the first time wondering why they keep rolling 1s and can't quick save and quick load
@@articusramos808 awhhh ):
Halfling gamers rise up
Get better dice noobs
Ezio Naiwal, Galaxy-Guardian Naiwal, and regular Naiwal.
This is the collab we absolutely needed.
I've said it before and I'll say it again! This man is an absolute comedic legend. Thank you, Naiwal. Keep up the fantastic work, pal.
the guidance slave using guidance every single time a dice appears on screen
"Wow... You should have just let _him_ talk to me, I probably would have listened." Me, the barbarian who has yet to fail a [Barbarian] speech check when they pop up after I accidentally initiate a dialogue which usually amounts to yelling at them and the reaction being "Woah okay calm down don't kill me" or "yeah, I get that, I like you let's team up (in the case of a certain ogre)" while the charisma character keeps failing all his persuasion and deception checks. Sometimes you just have to acknowledge the dice hate you and move on.
Please do more baldurs gate content, this was genuinely hilarious
I'd save scum less if I could choose the character I interact with for each dialog option
100% so true, not letting party members use their skills is so stupid imo
You technically can, but you have to switch before the conversation, which sucks cause you have to know ahead of time
This game is so good tbh
My character who became a compulsive liar due to a plus 12-15 on rolls
The only time I reloaded because of a failed check was because the game did not want me pulling Gale out of the portal.
That’s gotta be one of the worst times to fail a check in the game lmao, rolling a critical failure and you just are not strong enough to pull him out😂
I would love if there was a secret reload counter that counted up from a conversation, and secretly lowered your roll each time you reload.
When even the villian is giving you a pep talk you know your truely a failure lol
Yo the keyboard gag is great 😂
To be honest, I never save scummed so much in my life after getting BG3, and as a DM, I brings me freat shame to not roll with it.
By cheating in a group with real people you would cheat each other, but if you're playing alone you only cheat yourself so that's totally fine since there's no person DMing, my dude. Just make sure if you're in co-op everyone is okay with save scumming so you all are in the same page. 👍👍
I mean the game fully expects you to do it. It's pretty much how games like this one used to be played. Save scumming never used to be a dirty thing.
I get that, but it goes against everything I stand for as a Dungeon Master.
@@Leongonmore like if you want to play the game in Ironman mode, make sure everyone else in the party is cool with that. Baldurs is hard, the default shouldn’t be Ironman no-save mode lol
This is how I look trying to pickpocket someone in Fallout or Skyrim.
We all know if this were real there’d be a Bard rolling for seduction.
Exactly.
Bard is too OP towards the end I was teleporting around machine gunning everything I couldn't just tell to kys with double crossbows with splash damage
Great one! I was hoping that after the succesful roll, the character would quick loqd again because he was thinking that it was going to be an amazing fight 😂.
i was looking at the steam page wondering if i should buy it, have only heard good thing so far. also this gives me skyrim vibes when an npc says something i do not like and i quick save just in case i wanna kill someone.
If fits your budget you should totally get it. Apparently it's so good that other AAA devs are angry at it for releasing without issues and with great quality overall, setting an "unreasonable" standard for quality. I'm poor AF so I gotta be careful about buying new games, but I think I'm gonna get this one.
It's really good, but also very slow
THIS is how you should play all video games. Quick saves and re-re-re-reloads. This is how I became the boss of the Thieves Guild in Skyrim... doing all those side quests in the 4 cities before getting the special assignments. I'd reload over and over again until I got quests in the cities that I needed instead of running around aimlessly.
Exactly, I'm always amazed when I see people talk about losing hours of progress in games where you can save freely. How are they not saving every 5 min?
@@Lux_Feroxfacts bro I save before any conversation 😂
IRL I roll with the punches, cause everyone else I'm playing with is.
In my purely singleplayer experience? Anything goes, and it goes MY way.
if I was playing D&D in person, in some situations my DM might actually just let me re-do my turn. "oh... my character should have known that fire elemental would be immune to fire, right? can we back up and let me do something else on my turn?".
so I am not totally against going back to a previous save in some situations.
Funny part is when you pass the conversation check and it really doesn't matter because the boss fight happens anyway and there was no way of talking them out of it, it was all just for some flavor text ;p
"If you got all day I guess I got all day."
I reloaded a save 8 times the other day just to get a baby owlbear to run through a goal post.
THE MAN IS A WARLOCK WITH NEGATIVE CHARISMA MOD JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE HE'S TRYING HIS BEST
“If you got all day I guess I got all day” 😂
His friends are gonna be 'busy' next time he plays
"I might be Lv1, but I can go back in time even after my death, there's nothing I can't achieve, so you might as well remove skill-checks you know...
I'm not familiar with all of the outfits, but the assassin's creed one is so obvious to me & I found it amusing.
Please more BG3 videos! This concept is actually funnier than the elder scrolls videos IMO and that is saying a lot because the elder scrolls videos are why I subscribed.
They finally released a Shakespeare in the Park 2.0, that’s hype
Keanu is such a chill nice guy, but like this even he would be aggravated by how hard you try to avoid CONSEQUENCES.
Fallout NV player tries not persuading his way through an RPG (impossible)
Gonna be hard not to constantly quicksave in starfield
When my barbarian homie says im a barbarian its cool instead of letting the bard talk. Unga bunga
Funny story, the grove takes me like 2 hours to complete lmao. Just the talking to people.
Been a fan before you blew up when you first started your fnv randomizer and im sticking around
I feel personally attacked. 😂
I got Naiwal merch and sempai still hasn't noticed me, I am encrusted in salt
I just got the game and I started playing like this
Yeeees more BG3 videos lmao i love it
My speech checks in EVERY game 😂
This was fantastic
This isnt who I am! This doesnt define me!
*rerolls again*
This game is too long to not be a save scum. I will replay it again one day, but ima try to get the most out my first play through.
Honestly I expected it would end like the Doctor Strange movie where the bad guys just begs for it to end. "F8, Dormammu I came to bargon!"
...and the Oscar goes to....I Am Naiwai !
This is golden 😂😂
Brooo, why’d you have to get so real about failure 🤣
dude drank skooma
All my homies be save scumming those romance checks
This hit home
thats not fair that was extremely close to home, its not like i was doing the excact thing a few days ago when i was playying this....
Love this stuff!

Hold up, before I keep watching, are those the Y-3 Qasa? Aka the most beautiful shoes ever conceived? x.x
If so, very jealous ;w;
“Quick” save.
Run it back!
SO ACCURATE LOL
Honestly, I kind of wonder why they kept quick-saving in the game (specifically mid-dialogues). A the same time I also wonder why rolling a one won't allow you to pass skill checks with natural modifiers. The fear of failure still makes this fun as hell though.
I mean, I get the nat 1 thing. With the right modifiers, you can really guarantee just auto-winning just about every roll because your modifiers give you the amount you're rolling for. If there's always a 5% chance to fail, there's stakes
A 1 counts as a cricial Failure much like a 20 counts as a critical success
@@seth12786 I already know that but some people out there have the worst luck hence the karmic dice setting so they rarely if ever see a 1.
@@seth12786 RAW in 5e that only counts for attack rolls. Critical Successes and Failures are never mentioned in any 5e rule in relation to anything except attack rolls and their damage.
That said it is a pretty common house rule, and I think it works well with the game because of how they changed inspiration.
I don't know I disabled the karmic dice and realised after the initial bug that caused more harm than good it's now just a placebo since nothing has changed on my dice rolls
Yes
A warlock without charisma? This dude played a paladin or something geez :P
*Cast Silence*
Was hoping to get some BG3 skits
Lol, I need this game. Also, why can't we quick save in D&D? 😂
It be like that
I don't even have the game yet (gotta wait for payday, stuff came up just before it came out) and somehow I feel called out.
me w/ hacking the computer passwords in Fallout lmao. Great video
You don't have to save scum those. You can just close out of the terminal and go back in before you use your last try.
@@dalford7448 omg really??? I never tried that haha thanks for the tip
I just found out how to quicksave 😂😂
me in disco Elysium
I must tell you it is not save scuming is just a allergy that i have, every so often i sneeze and press the F8 key when playing CRPGs, a very normal allergy to failure.
As a DM, I'm too used to fudging rolls in the players' favor to not same scum the ever loving hell out of the game.
I don't play Baldur's Gate (1-3). However, I have played actual tabletop rpgs with dice and character sheets (DnD, Traveler, Gamma World, and Champions).
This sketch is so spot on.
I play Fallout 4 (almost always), and 3 and New Vegas.
I do save before or during (FO4) conversations. 1) To get the best outcome 2) to hear the other dialog as I'm curious about them.
But, yeah, I feel the Gamer in this skit. I'm a loser in real life. I'm just a nobody who wants to be a hero and make a difference in the world.
I make zero difference in real life.
So, sometimes I do save scum conversations.
(I know that in Fallout 4, pretty much any dialog option is a 'Yes'. But sometimes if you say the Sarcastic thing, some of the Companions hate what you say. Even though I'm trying to say something silly. They take it negatively.
So, yeah, sometimes a reload helps.)
Fantastic episode, Naiwal. 👏👏
Be Excellent to each other and Party on. 🤘🎸😎
Hey bro, don't call yourself a nobody or a loser. Lift your head high. I believe you can have dreams, adventures, happiness, and joy. Others to connect with. Help you can receive. I hope for the best for ya.
@@truedevilfox7202 Thank you, True. Very kind of you to take time out of your day to write that.
Thank you. 😊
Run it back.
"Might as well quicksave to pick the best option" *from the back of my head as if a thousand dammed souls from the underdark bellowed in unison" BOOOOOO! THATS NOT HOW YOU PLAY DND
I can't wait to play my Svirneblin spore druid. I'm gonna spore all over Balders Gate. Kick a drow in the taint for 'what they did to my people' and then get drunk and rant about how Deep Gnomes are the master race from which all other peoples spawned. Then I think I'll learn to harness a power I was never meant to have and kill a Tyrant. You know, some classic DnD.
yesssssirrrrrrrrrrrr
Listen. If I didn't roll 8 nat ones in a row WITH ADVANTAGE MIND YOU even with the karmaic dice system on, I wouldn't resort to this so much. Still, with all the bad luck I have with dice rolls it feels like I'm actually playing DnD again so mission accomplished lol.
And in my defence I usually die immediately after those rolls anyways so I would just have to reload anyways. I'm just beating the game to the punch lol.
fucking hilarious
the reason i save scum:
choosing paladin choice during the talk with lord gortash makes me broke my oath.....?
shit like that is the reason why, meanwhile for the skill check i just reroll the dice lul
Have you thought of doing a modded Skyrim play through?
That's a problem dnd based video game will never get rid of I believe. Fallout NV figured it out by removing rng from dialogues
Does F8 load last save?
When i learned about karmic dice i turned that shit off real fast
How do you turn that off?
@@cam0x195 look through the 1st settings page
@@cam0x195Go to gameplay in options and unchecked the karmic dice
It's in the settings I forget exactly where but if you don't know what karmic dice is it basically only let's you succeed or fail so many times in a row before it forces a success or failure depending on what your getting this also goes for combat to
Turns off karmic dice
I am that player.
😂😂😂😂
I was cracking up on the warlock with the negative charisma.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lolol
yeah, guilty 😅
Nothing wrong with save scumming.
I think my rule would be only save scum combat encounters, not social ones.
A warlock with negative charisma lol
0 problems with folk utilizing the save feature in games. Just in general, no problems with folk using exploits or cheats in single player content. It only really affects them, and affects me exactly 0%.
…well I kind of want to make a warlock build with a 8 charisma now, but i lack BG3 and D&D is a bit too easy to be fun.
Is this seriously how you win shit with stats in that game just dumbass luck with a dice roll but saving in RPGs be like that though some people just exploit that shit till till they get the results they want
I just got kenshi and this is me every bounty since they can de spawn
Just let it fail! Gamers paradox. We are failures, playing games, to avoid this truth!! Rofl
