John, these are a perfect mix between a quick introduction and deep dive. If these would have come out sooner than the other track guides I'm sure you would have even more views. Thanks for doing this
This guide got me from running 1:40 laps, to my current fastest which, according to the data sheets in MoTeC, is 1:34.965. This was using the aggressive preset, and the Porsche 991 GT3 R 2016. Thank you very much!
Couple of really good points in this one, I agree, the best lines are contrary to "traditional lines", which means you can be drawn away from the optimum (guilty as charged). Thank you. Can't wait for tonight to get back in the seat and give them a go!
Damn duuude, thx to that track guide, with my R8 Evo 2 i dropped from regular low 1:37s - ultra-rare high1:36s to easy low 1:34s in just 3 laps. And that's with just tire pressure and brake pads tweaked on the default aggressive setup. With proper setup i bet i'll drop sub 1:33. Immediately subscribed :) Had absolutely no idea i could abuse the curbs this much and the track limits are so liberal.
I love watching these guides.. They really help learning breaking points and when to turn in.. Esp when learning new tracks.. Now i just need to get trail breaking down
Just watched this video and taken my lap times from a steady 1:40 to high 2 minutes due to the fact I'm either off the track or facing the wrong way up it. Guess I just can't control a car the same way as you guys. 🤷 lol
My first track that I was able to win both races in career mode with AI at 80%. Yea, i'm still a newbie but still proud to be able to win these races. I give most of the credit to my new Moza R5 bundle which gives me so much feedback than my G29 did.
Love your track guides and setup videos! I just wanted to point out something I've noticed on this guide and the one for Paul Richard as well. I always find that I need to brake earlier than your suggested braking points. I know that each car may differ slightly. I've only spent a lot of time driving the Mercedes and always end up overshooting the corners if I brake as late as you suggest. I don't know if this is specific for the Mercedes or if I just need more practice braking or maybe a setup adjustment. The other thing is that i always feel the need to downshift lower than your suggested gears. I know part of this is because I'm just taking the corners slower because I'm not super comfortable yet, but I've also noticed that other guides I watch seem to generally suggest lower gears as well. Just wanted to point that out and see if anyone had any info or tips. Again, love your videos man!!
Thanks Dustin! There are so many factors that could create this difference, from the track conditions to setups, game versions, car BOP etc. This track guide is fairly old now and the game has changed a fair amount since then. I rarely manage to match these times outside of hot lapping myself, so all you can do is dial it back a little and work back towards it slowly. Even if it's one tenth at a time, it will put you in good stead. I wish you all the best with your racing :)
i've been playing ACC for almost 2 months, i've dedicated TONS of time racing in misano (i find it's a good average track to create a base setup to copy and adapt to other tracks), and just yesterday i went below 1:36 for the first time with a 1:35:9xx, even touching a 1:35.5xx predicted lap. It felt good! I still need to figure out the aggressive exit oversteer on my mclaren, but i'm getting slowly up there!
Well done. Misano is one of my favorite tracks on "Assetto Corsa Competizione", along with Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort, Kyalami, Barcelona and Laguna Seca. I think it is the funniest track to drive. My fastest lap of Misano is 1.39.1. P.S: Marco Simoncelli is my fuckin' idol.
It's interesting watching this and then watching an onboard of the real GT3 cars on this track. It's a similar line but not exactly the same. My best is still only high 1:37's so I will keep practicing. Using the Porsche since that's what I started my Campaign with. Dunno if it is good for this track or not.
Don't think I've raced here, will needa do some praccy for a race in 2 Sunday's time, hopefully this will help knock some time off the initial learning stage of the track 😅
The NSX gears are far taller too, as I grab 1st in four places. Of course, I’m apparently going too slow sometimes, but 1st=68 mph & 2d is 98. I’m not gonna bother with the math on kph conversion lol.
Hi there, what wheel base are you using and would you buy any chance have wheel base settings for a Fanatec GT DD PRO and what are your in game settings. many thanks. and great track guide.
Hello! Sadly not, when I made these I was just using a Logitech G29 and the settings were close to default. Would just make sure to the steering rotation matched between the software and the car, and then turn down any FFB dampening in game. Can't remember more than that! Hopefully someone out there will have optimal settings for you with your DD Pro :)
V8 vantage round here is a challenge. The torque is so bad mid range I'm doing most corners agear lower than this guide cause it just won't pull out of corners.
I simply can not figure this track out. The console doesn’t seem to be as lenient on the current version, but idk for sure. I have the last two turns (+ the straightaway kink! 😝) figured out, but I’m all out of sorts everywhere else. Literally everywhere. 🤦♂️ These are phenomenal vids… I’m just a lost cause. 😡 🙄
Thanks to your ECU vid, it has started to clear the air. Bc by setting the NSX to ECU 8, I now realize I was going out & running 20 mins of parade / formation laps. For Pete’s sake. 🤦♂️
One of the main things I love to do is get immediately on YT and compare to hot lap guides or IRL onboards and see roughly what times the best people are doing so I have a target to hit.
There is one thing i dont understand with these "fastest around the track videos" and that is braking. Take Curva Del Rio as an example. If I break at the end of the red run off area, I go flying into the wall. You on the other hand seems to be able to turn 0.5 sec after you started breaking into a sharp right corner at almost full speed.... how?
A prerequisite of trail braking is getting the car slowed down which is their more pressing issue. My guess is they’re turning the wheel too soon instead of doing most of their decelerating in a straight line.

Yeah Misano is all about being as close to the limit of corner cutting as possible. Glad the guide helped you

That’s amazing, great to hear!
thank you for this after spending a few sessions getting my LFM license
Glad you are finding them useful, cheers! Good luck in LFM 😎
What's the time we need for the license ? I get that it's 107% of the record but not sure how to calculate that or what the record is
@@princeofrance I think it´s something like 1.37.5 average time.
If you browse LFM website you can access the whole info, with the pass and so

These laptimes are so disheartening 😂😂 i was happy with my 1:45 😂😂😂
I JUUST got it down to low 1:41s with this guide from the high 1:45s… now to find another 4 seconds… 😯
I almost have a hard attack going from 1:45 to highs 1:38s and using default safe setup
Going to try this setup hope I can knock down another 2 sec 😁

Theoretically the Porsche should be strong here in terms of its characteristics, but not an easy car to extract laptime from! Times looking good 😊

Thats where my 2 seconds went. I used 1st gear on all slow turns :(
its car dependant, the nissan has quite short gear ratios

I believe the most recent update from the devs is "spring"... so expect it in the next couple of months!

how are your lap times not being invalidated? It seems like you cut the corners so much.
Very fine margins! All laps are fully legal, but must have been very close 😊
