How to be Fast at Circuit of the Americas on Assetto Corsa Competizione - Track Guide

- After our extensive track guides for Watkins Glen and Indianapolis, we bring you the final part of our Assetto Corsa Competizione American Track Pack DLC track guide series.
This time, we're heading to Austin, Texas, and the nearby Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Currently the host of the United States Grand Prix, COTA also holds rounds of IndyCar, NASCAR and, more pertinently to ACC, SRO's GT World Challenge America series (albeit not in 2022, sadly).
Without a doubt, COTA is the most difficult track to learn in the American Track Pack. The high-speed curves of sector one are replaced by slow, technical sections mid-lap, with late apexes and multiple lines adding to its complexity.
John somehow masters his hatred of the layout to offer tips on tackling the tricky Texan tarmac, meaning you won't have to endure the same pain he went through by producing this video guide. He loves it really.
Track limits are also an issue at COTA in ACC, as the game can be both strict and lenient with its cut warnings. The huge anti-cuts can also send you straight to the top of COTA's famous observation tower if you're not lucky.

My best tip for seeing the 100 board at the end of the long straight (t12) is to look for the red umbrella the sign before, then you know it’s the sign after. Super simple, and completely changed my confidence in the turn
Its such a hard track, without the track guide i got a 2:14, but now I'm lapping a 2:10, 2:09.
Thanks man!
Great to hear it!
THANKYOU! Been keeping an eye on your channel for a COTA track guide
Glad it was helpful!
Love the effort you guys put into this. I'm sure it'll help me with my races!
Just hopped off with a 2:09.7 using 40L of fuel
This guide is invaluable -- thanks so much!
Mega, really glad it helped :D
Exits of T9 and T19 have an additional curb (curb extension) to the right and track limit there is the end of the main curb. In every other place, track limit is the white line. That's why there's an extra room at the exit of T19. T9 exit is usually just as that additional curb ends so it's not as useful.
Source: Aris mentioned it in his COTA circut walk
Thanks for the track guide! And you're right, those track limits are harsh AF.
Glad you like the guide, COTA takes no prisoners.
Absolutely hate this track so much but my league is heading there next week. Your video is amazing and helpful.
I personally found the mercedes works very well here and is super rewarding as well. First I tried many cars like the ferrari, mclaren, and I was barely 2.09s but with the merc I can just scrape 2.07s. This track guide really helped improve my lap times too! Keep it up!
Great Trackguide.👍
I'm just getting into ACC and these guides have been a big help. Thank you.
Very glad to have helped!
Yesterday I tried this as my first race in a little Lambo League I put together... Aaaaaand the first time I ever rage quitted out of ACC xD
I love hard tracks great guide😍🇨🇦
Glad you like it!
thank you so much for the guide on this tricky track :D
You are very welcome!
great track guide, best I've managed so far is 2.11 but hopefully this will help me knock that down a few secs
Cheers, good luck!
Thanks for this was great learning tool 👍
Very welcome, glad it helped
gonna have to do some upgrades just to get red group! good vid even tho not irl!
The actual track is 20 minutes from my house. Good guide.
Managed to get 2.06.8 ready for lfm week but it's a difficult track. Track limits in sector one are a pain. Sector 3 tricky to get right
I can sum up the track in ONE word: UGH!
Back.
Well, I just shaved 3+ seconds off my best time. From 2:17.5 I went to 2:14.01.
So thnx for that.
Still a long way off from shaving another 13 seconds off, but, its something.
God I hate this track.
There are moments it grows on me, and then it reminds me every time again why I hate it so much.
I'm having so many issues with turn 1, 11, and 12, any suggestions?
In the 10 sec recap do you say "Suffer until 15"?! 😂😂
2:16????
You strongly dislike this track? Same here brother. I find it to be the worst track ever designed in the history of mankind. Totally utter garbage. Garbaaaagje!
Strongly dislike is a very polite way of putting it.
Anyway, see if I can salvage some seconds of this dogsh... I mean, not so loved track of mine.
Ty for the guide in advance, any help is appreciated before I even see the video I know it will help like all your other guides.
Lets see if I can stop hating this sad excuse of a track of a joke.
Peace out man, and ty.
