    Thanks for set up tips. To be honest I wish there would be an option to lock the default setup for ALL race participants to see who is truly the best pilot. On occasions I would love to give it a go on race like that. Having a good setup, paid one, shared with friend or made by yourself can make too much lap time difference versus default setup or even amateurs poor setup. If setup can make car handling easier and race safer for everyone I suggest to share a good setup in our 10tenth racing community.

      That wouldnt show who is the best driver tho. There might be people who like the set up and people whose driving style doesn't fit for the set up. I have this thing with my brother, i love cars with massive rotation and find the Standart set ups undriveable and hes a bit quicker than me with the agressive set ups. But if we set up our car after our liking i become about a second quicker. A set up isnt a one size fits all thing, it has to fit your driving style, so it makes no sense to copy set ups from aliens because they are way better drivers than you and their set ups wont fit your driving.

      LFM is a game changer no doubt about it, BUT it can be hard work at times. Increasing SR and DR is beneficial but exhausting at times. My advice is to take time away from it from time to time and find some decent open lobbies with higher SR thresholds. Can have fantastic racing with no pressure of having to finish above your door number as you do in LFM. Also you can choose which track you want to go to rather than the weekly 2 on LFM. Just my opinion.

    I find I have problems with minor overheating around certain tracks when I get a large fuel load, or they start to be a little lower than I'd like later in the stint, or after the next stop. These issues for me aren't on all 4 tyres, usually more of an imbalance between the fronts and rears. Adjusting your brake balance mid stint can balance out the temps between your fronts and rears. I use the SF1000 wheel so I get live tyre temp readouts, which was very useful around cota where my second stint had a difference of 10°C between the fronts and backs. Little adjustment on the brake bias and the car started to feel much more comfortable to push through the first sector.

    Personally, I prefer a lot of understeer in aerodynamic grip and a lot of oversteer in mechanical grip. So I run negative rake and no front roll bar with maximum rear downforce. It works really well but every now and then if I slam on the brakes up a hill and get too aggressive with the wheel the whole car slides off the track. Should I increase the rear bumstops to make the car more stable or what?

  • @ArchOfficial
    @ArchOfficial Рік тому

    I really don't think that pressure affects heating at all. There is nothing in the tire modeling to my knowledge to produce such an effect. There is also not "more grip" at lower pressures in the ideal range; what you get is what you get. If it's 99% at 26psi then it's 99%. I don't think ACC has added longitudinal grip increase below optimal lateral pressure and they just didn't tell anyone.
    While you're right about lower pressures being less responsive in ACC, as the peak slip angle decreases with pressure, this trend is also reversed from any observable real tire trends, so really it should be the opposite. If it's realistic it's also subtle enough not to matter with ACC tires that never really go over temp or over pressure.

    My tip, buy Go or Hymo setups(don't by CDA, they are garbage), lower the back by only 2 clicks, reduce or increase the rear toe and play with the settings in the mechanical grip tab but don't touch the antirollbar. That gives you an incredible lifely car with the balance you need.
    Building your own setup from the ground up is an incredible timeconsuming task which, in most times, is not worth it. Go and Hymo cost under 30€/$ for a pack with 1year update garantee. That is relativly unexpensive and saves you a ton of time.
    The Hymo setups are more extrem than anything else but gives you the best startingpoint. GoSetups are more stable and better for set and forget. CDA are good for nothing. CDA setups are slow af and cost you atleast half a secound.
    Popometer is also a good source for setups but ~5€/$ per setup is to expensive and only viable when you only want to test one specific car/track combo. Also the quality of the setups is a hit or miss thing. On Popometer i bought both good and bad setups.
    And for the beginners, don't buy any of the setups! Start with the safe or aggressive setup and learn the car and track. You wasting a ton of money and get no benefit from an eSport setup. Most of the time you are not able to drive the setup which result in unnecessary frustration. When you around 2sec. off than you can start to buy and test eSport setup. eSport setups will bring you 0.5 to 1sec. closer to the pros but to get the last 1-1.5sec is a hard way. Some of us will never find the time to catch up but that is ok. Not everyone is the next Daire McCormack.

      Exactly this!! Usually I was about 2s from the aliens with the setups that I've made, then I bought a pack from Hymo and I could get 0,5s to 0,8s, but even thought I think some setups from them are a bit unpredictable, for example, the Ferrari 296 on Eau Rouge is very unpredictable so I had to slightly raise the bump stops on the front to mitigate that (along with some other small changes to suit my driving style).
      I'm doing 2:18:200 at SPA because of this unpredictability of the setup, do you think the Go setups are more stable but still as fast?

    • @iPain3G
      @iPain3G Рік тому +1

      @@hernanialves6938 i can't say it for shure but in the past the GoSetups are more stable. But you will face the same problems in Raidillon with Go. Every middle and rear engine car is hard to drive on Spa. When you get the car perfectly stable in Raidillon than you will lose a ton of time on the rest of the track. To get the 296 a bit more stable with Hymo reduce the rear drivehigh by 2-4 clicks, increase the diff and make the rear in the mechanical grip section softer but don't make it to soft. When the car is to soft the car will bottom out and you will find your car in the pit exit wall :D

    Setting the front wheels at 26.1 and the backs at 25.8 will make the wheels hit the perfect psi and if they get to 27+ ur only gonna get a little more grip its litterly THE best psi to use trust me i have tried over and over

      You simply cannot set PSI to some standard values. Track Temp / Air Temp / Brake intakes / Time of day and most of all the Track make a huge difference.

    Why cant racing games have a good setup for each car from the start,i hate tuning and upgrading,i just want to race.real race drivers dont have to faff with this stuff,they have a team for that.

      ehm, setups can vary from track to track and pilot to pilot.
      plus, you clearly have no idea on how teams work.
      it's weird because there are tons of races up for watching on this platform. you should try some. 😑

      @@kaporezim you can still do that if it had a good stock setup.i only play online with friends but when the stock setup is terrible it makes for a frustrating race for all of us

      @@kaporezim thats a fair point but theres still no need for cars having terrible stock settings.i love racing but dont have the time to fine tune cars.i know having stock settings im never going to compete properly,thats fine by me but i want cars that are at least usable

      Because the setups almost a bigger business, than the game itself.

      Some Setups for the newer cars are halfway decent.
      The older car Setups provided suck.
      Best Setup depends on your driving style and the event you are participating.

    Truth is if you are slow, it's 99.5% your driving style and 0.5% your setup.
