you making tea or coffee at the start of these videos are so therapeutic for me, and it sets the tone for the video too! the community posts are a nice touch too ❤️🩹
I went to a bee farm and they taught us how to test real honey. If you get a little bit of honey on a spoon, just a thin layer. Wiggle it back-and-forth in some water, you’ll see a honeycomb structure appear. Cool how nature works :))
seeing you cut the carrots into little stars did something to my soul. I haven't been able to cook for myself very often as college gets busier, and I think seeing something so simple as star shaped carrots has reminded me to take the time to do something nice for myself :3
You may have heard this already as a tip, but you learning a bit of French (better than none) reminds me of what Dita Von Teese said on the matter. She says the best phrase she ever learned was, "I speak the French of a goat" or something to the effect. It always made French people laugh, they enjoyed that she insulted herself right away while acknowledging she wasn't a fluent or native speaker and endeared herself to everyone she met while also garnering a bit of sympathy and understanding from the Parisian people around her. She said that one phrase along with a little self indulgent smile got her further in Paris than anything else she had learned. The French just adore when foreigners insult themselves.
I was feeling a bit down and seeing you make sukiyaki to lift your mood, I really got motivated to get out of bed and make my favorite dessert since food brings so much joy to me too. Thank you for these videos!
I do love so much your videos. I love the vibes that are really calm and comforting. Your cooking videos and alvin's cooking videos are the best because we feel at "home". This is like how I would describe the vibe in one word. I don't know if I am the only one here that feels this way.
Im new here but already love this little community so much. Thank you for all the comforting vibes and reminders to take care of myself in this crazy society
The amount of joy I get when I see that you posted a new video is unreal. Inga, your videos are the epitome of comfort and I could just watch you cook all day long
It helps to know a little French, but usually in areas ( I.e. train stations) where a lot tourists are there are French people who speak English. Tho, I feel like if you’re in Paris, it’s very easy to get around : ‘ ) I love it there and I hope you have a fun time ! Touch your foot on the golden sun ( point zero) in front of Norte dame and you’ll always find your way back to France.
you want to crack the lid a little by inserting a wooden chopsticks on one end when you steam the egg custard. You won’t need the foil if you do that. In addition, if you just steam it in an instant pot for 15 minutes instead, you can just walk away unsupervised. For honey, I always buy the Logan flower honey when I am in Taiwan. They’re generally available in the summer after the flowers bloom in the spring. Pray that weather permits a good harvest that year. Most of these honey would have an association with a farmers alliance (農會). You’d be able to trace your honeys origin. As for sukiyaki, you’re missing an aromatic. You want to start by sauté some green onion, onions and a few ounce of the meat or preferably a little piece of beef fat. Hope this information is helpful.
It looks delicious! The lunch meal is something I would eat. We buy store bought tomatoe sauce and cook sausage & ground beef & onions and add to it. It’s always nice for a quick easy meal . Plus you can add a salad and warm bread and butter or garlic bread as sides. Your dinner seemed like it was a good way to eat more vegetables.
omg I’m also learning french on duolingo, 10-15 mins everyday in the morning haha you’re right, it is about persistence. 17 days streak going on strong🔥
If you ever have the opportunity to try/buy genuine Manuka honey from Aotearoa/New Zealand I highly recommend, not just because it has elevated health benefits, but it has a noticeable uniquely elevated floral taste so different to normal honeys 😍 I love adding it to teas (especially peach teas)
I don't speak much French anymore, but I've always found people in France to be very friendly and capable of communicating in English...but I always begin with the basics (greetings) followed by a 'je m'excuse, je ne parle pas français bien - parlez-vous anglais?' And then we proceed from there in English, pas de problème 🙂
that foil cover helps keep it smooth, but also, being careful not to overcook and letting it sit for a while afterwards! let me see if i can do a video for this… 🤔
@@IngaLam yeah because I love steamed egg and twice I tried to make it and then I just end up cooking it in the rice cooker and I gave up and I was like I'll just buy it from the store or from a restaurant because I can't make this lmaooo

i think, too often, we remember to put in extra effort for others, but forget to do that for ourselves… i’m glad this could be a gentle reminder 🥹

Your steamer didn’t have middle piece. The link you have had middle piece which makes it difficult to place bowl…
good catch! i actually manually removed the middle piece because of this exact reason
Knowing french will help but most people will talk to you in English...
Inga do you maybe be in Poland or you know somebody from Poland ? is any chance to know you I mean talk with you by email ?
