Gene Watson is truly an awesome amazing entertainer. He has a wonderful voice. Gene's voice got better with age. The older Gene Watson gets the better he sounds. I have been a loyal fan of Gene Watson since the '70s. I honestly had every album that Gen Watson ever cut until someone robbed my home and took my stereo and all of my albums. I was heartbroken at the time. My wish is that Gene Watson has another number one hit in this year of 2021. I had the pleasure of seeing Bill Anderson in person twice back in the '70s and '80s. He is a great entertainer also. God bless these guys that keep country music alive and kicking.

What makes it clever is that the lines in the song are titles of great country songs. For example, the opening line is TODAY THE MIDNIGHT OIL IS ALL OVER SOMEONE. referencing Barbara Mandrell's hit MIDNIGHT OIL.
