This video right here! What I needed to get it right! Thank you!!! I have already grabbed captures from my Revv G20 direct, but thanks to you I know how to grab all of my other amps mice’d! Love ya bro! You earned my subscribe!
Amazing!!! I've just bought a Nano, never done a capture, not technical at all so this is gold! A few questions if I may? For the pedal, what cable is the output to the nano? Is it a instrument lead? Also, could you do a video to capture from a DAW? I (like many) have the plug-ins and also other tones from my DAW (Ableton) so would love those. I have a duet apogee so the outputs are the 2 speaker outs. I've tried following the steps but it doesn't work. Would I need to trs out to input and and change the input setting from instrument to mic? Than you so much for this video. Its awesome!
Glad you found the video helpful! My wiring was as follows for the capture in the video. Nano output 2(cap out)->Pedal input->output DI (post) XLR to TRS cable->Nano capture input. I can certainly make a video sometime next week on capturing from a DAW! The configuration will work as follows. Nano output 2 (cap out)->Audio interface input->Phones/Output of Audio Interface->Nano Capture Input
@@GaryWrightMusic Amazing! And yes please for a DAW capture video! A simple DAW one would be a great video - especially saying what types of leads go where please!. A lot of people are knocking the Nano because you cant download the plug-ins and I can't find any video on this and/or as well put together as yours. I think this would be great not only for their plug-in sbut any other sounds from a DAW (I do a lot of ambient guitar in Ableton - would me amazing to have those!). I have a few dumb question on your DAW capture chain before I try if I may? Nano output 2 (cap out)->Audio interface input...would this be a TRS cable from nano into the input? I ask as I use it for an instrument cable ->Phones/Output of Audio Interface->Nano Capture Input.....Ahhhhhh...I was using the speaker output. Would this be a trs cable too? Thank you again so much for your help.
Yes! It will capture the overall eq; however, you will still more than likely need to adjust bass / mid / treble slightly to match what your ear is hearing once captured.
So if I capture my 5150, and boost pedal (separate captures) is there a way to be able to add the boost pedal to my amp sound? Or would I need a capture of the amp, and another capture of the amp with the boost pedal going into it? Then I could switch between those two presets on stage, essentially just turning the boost pedal on? Thanks for the vid!
You are welcome! This is where the Nano Cortex is different from the Quad Cortex. You would need to capture both scenarios as individual neural captures, then create two separate presets, one with the boost and one without. Since you cannot modify the static effect blocks.
Would it be possible for you to do a demo on using a midi pedal so I can have access to all 4 presets? I bought a m-vave chocolate midi pedal and the Nano is not recognizing the changes.
Just so happens I was planning on doing this exact thing today. I have just uploaded my video with an introduction and practical examples on sending and receiving midi on the NC. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/uRT6ACoowWs/v-deo.html
Do the cables from output 2r to amp in and from loadbox balanced out to capture input must to be TRS or can they be normal guitar jack cables? Thank you.
so let me understand, when capturing the pedal, you basically capture the pedal+amp sound right? so you need to select an amp capture first, and then capture the OD pedal on top of it?
You don't have to use an amp while capturing an overdrive pedal. If you are all cabled up to capture your pedal, you will simply be hearing the pre-amp overdrive during auditioning/AB. Since you can't choose an individual overdrive pedal in the signal chain, if you wish to use an amp with an OD, you will need to have another way to capture both the OD pedal, a physical (or virtual amp VST), and either a cab or leverage an IR. I hope this helps clarify, but please let me know if I can clarify anything else.
Really sorry to hear. I have had a couple small hiccups getting the app connected. Unplugging the cortex for 10 seconds and starting it back up remedied it no problem. Really sorry that happened to you!
@@GaryWrightMusic I tried that. I deleted the app 3 times. Called Sweetwater. Apparently there is a problem with it. Just from my conversation with sweetwater. They said that they were out of them but Neural has them and have been quick to ship them out to people having issues. Curious how many of these they are replacing. I think I will wait a while before I get another one.

@@kels866Just a standard instrument cable will do. Especially since capturing isn't in stereo.
great demo! could this capture method also work for a mid boost pedal or EQ?

Can I plug my guitar into it and plug the nano into a footswitch to change the presets?
You can change presets via midi. So, if you have a trs midi controller you can, or send midi messages via USB.

@@GaryWrightMusic thanks! so in this video we were listening to just the OD pedal .. wow!
Man mine came in today and I couldn’t get the Bluetooth to connect. Tried everything. Sadly it’s going back

I would wait man, try again, the captures are amazing!
