I had a lovely '95 C4S which was wonderful, back in the mid 1990's. But in today's world, it just will not satisfy except as a nostalgic old ride. My current GTS blows away the C4S in most every way (including cost!). Keep your expectations well in check and reasonable.
Love the smoker’s package. What’s that iPhone holder? I backtracked but couldn’t make out the name. Silver’s great but I love my Lava Orange PTS + ducktail too. They really are special Porsches. Glad I chose this over the Gen 2,and the noise…. Oh, the noise!
Good point about the centre locks. A GTS with no centerlocks? Who does that? I feel the same with my Lava Orange '15 Gen 1 GTS with ducktail. They are amazing Porsches.
Sir, you nailed the spec on this car. I am still building up to owning my first 911, and I will be looking for a car very similar to yours, but most likely in manual.
Sick car! I live in the Bay Area too and was wondering who your clear bra installer is. I need to replace the one on my 987.2 Spyder. Hopefully I'll get to see your car at a local PCA event.
Bryan O thanks man. Call Jeremy at Invisiguard Clear Bra. He is listed in SF on yelp, but his shop is in Belmont near San Mateo. He used to be the clear bra shop for Sonnen, so he is meticulous and knows Porsche. His buddy is next door and did my tint at the same time, also flawless work.
Great vid - I'm in UK also with GT Silver GTS (2015), no duck tail but with pano roof, love it! Am interested in your AWE SwitchP exhaust to enhance the PSE, any chance of a vid demo'ing it out in open air, in on/ off modes & at different rev ranges? Is it intrusive in off-mode? Car looks so neat - I also like the vorsteiner rear diffuser, did u considered this?
kirbsak it’s pretty aggressive valves open. Much better and maybe 20% louder than PSE. When valves are closed, it sounds very quiet and stock, like a Toyota sedan. Lol. I have a video posted of the car stationary and revving which gives a very good idea of the valves open sound. I am very happy with the AWE and prefer it strongly over PSE. See my other videos to hear it. There are several other AWe exhaust vids on .1s
Awesome GTS... was wondering if you would be willing to share the name of your PPF installer? I'm also local to SF and hoping to find someone in the area. The work quality looks great! Thank you
thanks man. Call Jeremy at Invisiguard Clear Bra. He is listed in SF on yelp, but his shop is actually in Belmont near San Mateo. He used to be the clear bra installer for Sonnen Porsche, so he is meticulous and knows Porsche. His buddy is next door and did my tint at the same time, also flawless work. I haven't seen a better install job than what he did on my car, and it was very reasonable.
Will do, thanks again. Have used Premier a few times on prior 911/ other vehicles down in Fremont but had mixed experiences with them. Hope to receive my GTS allocation next week so will be several months before the car even lands here; clearly planning ahead of time hah. Appreciate the video, very helpful.
Great looking car. Congrats. I'm in the process of ordering a GTS and was wondering if you've had any issues with grounding the front spoiler lip going in and out of driveways, gas stations, etc. Not sure if you had the option for a front axle lift system available with the 2017 models, but it's fairly pricey. Just wondering how worth it it may be at over $2500. To mitigate this and possibly improve the ride comfort (this will be a daily driver), I'm considering downgrading to PASM (10mm higher vs the stock Sport PASM). Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks and congrats again!
Cliff nd hey man, you will definitely scrape on steep anything. Do not comprise your suspension preference for clearance - you can always replaces the spoiler. Be careful and you will minimize scraping. Cheers!
this is a 2016, so i had to special order GT Silver, which I think is a standard color this year, and the wheels are the GTS turbo wheels with centerlocks that are painted black in the GTS package. I think you can get a current GTS in GT Silver with these wheels, but the factory ducktail is no longer available on the 991.2. Cheers!
gabeah thank you so much !!! You said that the dealer gave you a good deal on the car. Can you tell me how much you paid total if not that's totally understandable. Ones again ty
If I recall correctly, I paid 7% off of MSRP, which was a really good deal at that time because there were very few allocations for custom spec’d cars. Around $150k I believe.
Hey, didn't you work at FI?! Ha random...Anyway, great spec! I'd do it very similarly. Out of curiosity why did you go with the Xenons instead of LEDs; was it an aesthetic preference? The single projector really is much more attractive, but I love the LED light so I'm torn. Also, I love the duck tail, but I can't figure out how to spec. it on the configurator. Did your dealer just need to do it separately? I want all my "ducks" in a row before sitting down with a dealer so I won't feel like stabbing myself in the eye with a blunt object. Thanks!
Hey man, yeah, former FI. Ducktail is no longer available with the 991.2.. has to do with intercoolers and the turbo engine. The xenons seem to be the preferred light source, and yes, the aesthetic was a primary driving force. Good luck with your build man, let me know what happens!
CONGRATS ON YOUR BEAUTIFUL CAR! I also bought one back in April. Question; When you replaced your exhaust did the H.P. & Torque increased? And did you save some weight? I replaced my dummy key with a Red one to match the center gauge. It looks pretty good. My car is a fine Metallic Black color. First black car I've ever owned for the obvious reasons. But since I only drive it on the weekends and it Just looks so bad ass in that color. That I said what the heck. I feel like calling my car Dark Vader or my Bat Mobile. Lol! Question how much did you save on your car if you don't mind me asking? My dealer knock off about 8 G's. Enjoy you car! :)
Antonio Carlos hi Antonio, I installed my exhaust during break in, so I didn't do much comparison between the PSE exhaust and the AWE. The improvement in sound is dramatic, and you lose about 7 pounds of weight. The exhaust is much simpler, so more flow seems logical. I negotiated 7% off MSRP on the car with my dealer and ordered to my spec.
being in Australia, (the bucket seats are available) I am thinking about them. They are the most expensive option. Just not sure if it would be worth the money. The Sport Plus seats are my number 2 option, would you recommend ?
I had a 991.2 tuned gts. Yes, its faster in a straight line but hated the sound (I had sould cats, headers, and fabspeed exhaust). Nothing beats the power deliver and sound of the naturally aspirated 911 engine.....
Gorgeous car. Love the GT Silver, centerlock wheels, and the ducktail.
I love the car, and the Porsche graphics. I wish I could purchase a 911.
Love your car. I have a 997 gt3 that I track and planning on adding a 991.1 gts targa to the stable with the awe exhaust
sounds like a nice combo. love my AWE, car sounds incredible.

Really nice video of a special car.
Love the spec! I love the ducktail, side lettering, and wheels. I hope I can buy a 911 someday.
Really like the side decals! I'm also a Bay Area driver. I'm considering adding a 991.1 911 GTS to my garage. I prefer the NA motor.
I want to buy this in 2020! Great video hope u still have it!

An astonishing car. Im glad you choose the ducktail. The side stickers dont do it for me, the car doesnt need it in my point of few.great video.
Beautiful car. The side Porsche decal looks great.
Good point about the centre locks. A GTS with no centerlocks? Who does that?
I feel the same with my Lava Orange '15 Gen 1 GTS with ducktail. They are amazing Porsches.
Awesome..... You got a great deal. Especially being the last year of N.A.
Congrats again! :)

absolutely BEAUTIFUL SPEC!! congrats mate
Nice brothers
The perfect Spec build! Exactly how'd I order it.
Nice! Could you do an oil change video?
Did you remove the bumper?
a k not necessary for oil changes

Dude- Beautifully spec'd car. GT Silver is amazing, particularly in darker lighting. Also, that ducktail! Classic. Are those clear reflectors?
Blue Horseshoe thanks man. Yep, clear euro reflectors.

I just got mine. Stunning drive, stunning car. I just love it.
What's the color and wheels? I can't find the option on the builder

gabeah that's not bad at all I'll spec my car out
Great run though on the car. Question, is the X51 power kit standard for the GTS or was that an option?
TJ Crosson yessir, included on the 991.1 GTS

congrats!
no fake exhausts like MB
Let me know if you are ever interested in selling. This is the one I'm looking to purchase.
Did you get bucket seats?
The lightweight bucket seats were not available in the US on the 2016 GTS with GTS interior package. I went with Sport Plus, which are excellent.
being in Australia, (the bucket seats are available) I am thinking about them. They are the most expensive option. Just not sure if it would be worth the money. The Sport Plus seats are my number 2 option, would you recommend ?
not the best color but looks good
nice car! but GTS .2 is way faster!
Garry Nip thanks. How much faster is it? I thought it was two tenths faster. Bummer they’re turbo now though. Sound awful and are heavy.
I had a 991.2 tuned gts. Yes, its faster in a straight line but hated the sound (I had sould cats, headers, and fabspeed exhaust). Nothing beats the power deliver and sound of the naturally aspirated 911 engine.....
