I‘ve bought a 991.1 just because of the sound you get from the natural aspirated 6-cyl-Boxer engine (with sports exhaust). It is UNBELIEVABLE. A sound I don’t want to miss and which I praise even more the more electric cars are on the road nowadays. In my opinion, a future classic.
Yes! It comes down to "Do I want a boosty boy snail (turbo), or NA all da way." And I drive an inline 6 single turbo car on my channel now and I miss revving an NA. 991.1 Carrera S for me, pleaseee
Bought a 2012.5 991.1 early this year. Exhaust, intake, plenum, tuning. 460 bhp. Added CarPlay and backup cam, speaker and amp upgrades. Ohlins shocks, GT3 lower control arms, Tarett tie rod ends, 3rd radiator. Great engine. It’s magic. 100 treadwear tire and wheel set for autocross dates.
@@TrderJ0es yeah, that would have been a consideration for another $35,000 or $40,000 over what I paid. Plus I wanted the NA engine, not the turbocharged 991.2.
Just picked up my 991.1 last month. I feel good about my decision. It was in my price range as well. My only complaint it the lack of Apple Car Play. This is my first Porsche and I moved up from a muscle car. Enjoyed this and just subscribed.

Brothers, Great and PRACTICAL report. It certainly was informative and for me being an ole 85 Targa driver, I'm tempted to stay old school with manual 6-speed 991.1. Cheers, Eric
Bought 991.1 c2s this year. Love it. Not too bothered about CarPlay. USB cable works fine for music. And I need maps only a few times a year. Biggest issue here in uk is the FM is crap. My pcm doesn’t have DAB
991.1 manual with aero kit with 991.2 rear conversion. Perfect looking modern 911 with some great 911 performance. I drove a 991.1 PDK sport exhaust back when I didn’t know anything about Porsche. I thought it was a 997 afterwards because it felt so small and agile, very planted and light. Cant go wrong with either 997-991 depending on what you like.
Great comparison I own a 2012 991.1 C2S and couldn't be happier. Was going to buy a 2017 but liked the 2012 better plus couldn't turn down the car with only 8800 miles. Put a SOUL cat back and love the sound. I do like your rear spoiler! That will be the next mod. Thanks and keep up the great videos!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate you sharing your experience. I have two videos on my channel that talk about and show more of the Techart aero kit.
Even the door panals are different. Ive owned a 991 and 991.2. The indentation for the door handle on the 991.1 was a seperate panel whereas on the 991.2 the indentation was moulded into the door allowing them to put a more modern door knob on it.
I bought my 2014 Racing Yellow 991.1 three years ago and paid $75k with 10k miles on the car. I absolutely love the naturally aspirated engine and would not switch this car for the world. After owning 105 cars in my life this car is a car I should have bought a long time ago 👍👍
I chose a 2017 over a 2016 for the CarPlay stereo and the turbos that spool up like rockets from the get go. You want a stereo that works and takes you forward into the next decade v wishing your phone worked with the car. For spending 10s of thousands of dollars you want it to work v being stuck in the 2010s. You have to hit the 2016.1 more to make it go the same. Even in traffic in the 17-19 you can feel the engine spool up with just a slight push on the pedal.
Had a .1 a couple of .2s and 3 gt3 and gt3rs… the 991.1 is a good car, especially when it’s 50-60k. As inflation hits and prices go up they are not that great anymore (at 80-90k) as the .2 is just a better car: It sounds surprisingly good for a turbo (way better than the tts), has more usable power while the .1 just feels tired, power delivery is surprisingly linear and u get upgraded tech (rws cameras CarPlay) and exterior styling. We usually like older cars coz it provides a more engaging driving exp, not the .1, it’s just as sterile as the .2 and slower, and the sound is bassy nothing to brag about esp comparing to 981s or the gt cars. At around 90 the .2 is a better bargain and their sticker is much higher
The 2016 model of the GTS 911 being the last year of the N/A car is going up in value now. Not sure what it would look like long term but many are already over the 2017 and 2018 numbers of the Turbo cars.
I love my 991.2, I test drove a 2012 base 7spd and it was great and did sound a bit better. When I tested my 17 base 7spd I liked it better for its torque delivery, tunability (475 hp APR stg 1) and car play. The Bose sound system was also much improved .1 vs .2 and the steering and 7spd shifter feel were also tweaked and improved
@@nineelevensouthwent with the .2 S! Tune-ability of the engine makes it more future proof for me if I ever want more horsepower, also prices have dropped and the delta between the .2 and .1 have closed considerably
1 year has passed and I have put some miles on my 2017 Carrera GTS. Based on owning a 991.1 S and my personal GTS, the GTS, in my opinion, is on another level up from the 991.1. To start with, increased torque across a broad and composed to the 991.1 peak torque. And my 991.2 GTS is blessed with 450 HP. For my ears, the sound in Sport Mode....I wouldn't have it any other way. The only way to really differentiate the 2 models, drive them.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience. And you're right....as much as we can talk on camera about the differences, you just have to drive both to see which one "feels" better to you. It's somewhat subjective at the end of the day.
This video is good and gives great comparisons while continuing to increase my interest in the Porsche 991/991.2! Ps. The only negative I see in this video is the electrician who butchered the pipe job to the JB in the background lol
For me the NA engine in my 2015 Targa 4s is all I want going forward. Yes I have the cobb tune but only for the PDK. I have sports exhaust and Sports+ factory options. Also Tadi updates to my infotainment for car play.
I test drove a 991.1 C4 and loved the handling but did not like the lack of low end torque. I ended up ordering a 991.2 C2s with all the handling goodies back in October 2016. It was the right choice for me as I like the versatility of the engine and the much better low end power. Also like CarPlay. I did have to have my water pump replaced but was never left out on the road somewhere. After 4 years I plan to keep the car long term. It just ticks all the boxes for me.
I just bought a 2013 911. S. Pdk i’ve been looking for a manual for years because I had only air cool Porsches I just took it for test drive and thought I was going to put it back but let me tell you I didn’t know how to run back to purchase the car the very next hour and picked it up the very next day and I am very very very happy with the noise that it makesI was going to go get a 997.2 cannot find it and believe it or not when I was test driving the 991.1 I passed a car dealer who had a 997 dad to pull them side-by-side and happy that I made the choice with a 991.1 I will never sell it it’s gonna stay in the family for years very happy and I can say that again very happy best value for the money timeless design great noise coming from the rear engine and just a beautiful car what more could you ask for
Enjoyed this video comparison and well done! I have an 2013 991.1 which has some minor changes to include Akrapovic Catback exhaust, Bmc filters and Cobb V3 unit. This car is noticeably quicker and the only changes I'm even considering are to add Techart lowering springs and IPD plenum.
Long before computers came around. I drove an air cooled 1970 911-S Targa. I had a friend who owned many many different cars. I was running through the Nevada desert around 160mph. That’s when speed limits were nonexistent. I looked up in my mirror and saw some head lights. I looked down at my speedometer and saw how fast I was moving looked back up in my mirror and a Little red blip shot passed me. When I got into Reno I pulled into Harass casino. There was Bill Harra standing there waving me down into an area wrapped around it with yellow caution tape was his little red Ferrari I pulled up and he said. Just park that little Porsche here I will be safe. We gambled, drank, gambled then saw a show. Everything was on the house. Bill was a great friend and had a lot of cars. I asked him about how fast was he going when he went around me. All he said was “Well over 200” every single car he owned was tricked. Edit… that was a long time ago. Perhaps before some of you were born. !!!
Great topic but here are my TOP 5 CONS about this video. #1 It was too dark! Every panel has changed but it didn't matter because it was too dark to tell. Advise... either do it outside in daylight or indoors in well lighted room when doing comparisons. #2 I could not hear a word the guy in green was saying. He was either speaking through the other guys mic or he had the mic clipped to his waist. #3. Because I could not hear a word what he was saying, his top 5 dragged on forever! #4. He kept interrupting the gentlemen with 991.2 as he went over his top 5... rude! and #5. The guy in green spoke about all the mods he did to his 991.1! I thought this was supposed to be a factory comparison between .1 vs .2. Not interested in your aftermarket upgrades.
Appreciate your thoughtful response and will use that feedback for future videos. Some of the things you didn't like were by design (the warehouse setting, mixing in commentary about some of the 991.1 mods while being sure to point out the car was not stock, etc.) That said, the things you pointed out are helpful and constructive feedback as I continue to make the channel better and better. Regardless, I appreciate you watching and hope you'll continue to follow along.
Went with a 991.2, I can't see the 991.2 dropping underneath the 991.1 even with the collectability aspect of it, a 991.2 will probably still be priced slightly higher than the 991.1. 992 looks very ugly in the rear to Me (subjective) it's why I went with the .2
I hear that electric power steering is much better tuned in the .2 vs the .1. Is that true? Also, the .1 had problems with the top of the interior door panels separating which creates an unsightly gap. I think the .1 eyebrow lights are a bit unsightly too. The .2 looks better, but I do like the NA engine of the .1.
Not sure on the steering, sounds interesting, I'll have research that one. Yes, as I mentioned in the video, the 991.1 is prone to interior panel issues.
Interesting, if rather niche topic, so I can forgive the average production. My experience having driven several dealer loan 991.2s’ (3 years ago) I bought a Carrera 991.1 on first drive, sure $20k cheaper, slower than common cars at low RPM, simpler, older tech but much more expressive/exciting above 3,000RPM and more than fast enough on UK roads. The two natures and the need to work a little more makes it more of “sport car enthusiast’s” vehicle! However, it is every day usable and can cover high miles with little fatigue for the passenger so for me better than a GT car and now the 991.2 and particularly 992 are of no interest to me. A bit of head and a bit of heart is needed to choose YOUR Porsche and nothing is wrong! Good work.
Interesting comparison and agree with the findings relating to the 991.1, however one point around this model becoming more sought after and therefore offering better residuals could be undermined by the mods (especially those of the body). Was this considered?
Thanks. Appreciate you watching and your feedback. The mods are all pretty OEM + and I have seen several similar builds bring good money. That said, I did the build for me and don’t really buy into the “911s are an investment” hype. Lot better ways to make a return on this kind of money. So, I like the mods but know that the buyer pool might be smaller if I ever go to sell and am ok with that.
Very good video. I have a 2013 registered 911 991.1 c2s. I really like it as it’s more of a weekend car. I am hoping to upgrade to a 991.1 GTS. I am in Scotland and like you I think the NA cars will hold there money more due to the fact there is no NA coming from Porsche unless it’s a GT car. I think if you are going to daily a 911 the .2 is the one to get with more luxury and instant power. The .1 I think is a weekend blaster when you can hit the twistes radio off and listen to the flat 6 howl.
Really interesting insight thanks. I'm 25 living in the UK, and deciding on the .1 or .2 to buy next year as a long term daily driver. I agree the NA could hold its money as the last NA 911, but would a turbo engine stay in better health over the long term as it can deliver power with less RPM so doesn't work as hard? Struggling!
I have a 17 991.2 did the Cobb tuning and it is pretty nice. Love it in the mountains and the boost is amazing and puts out more H.P. than a S. Muted sound, but I am looking for the total package. What is not to like. Great debate.
Nice review.......had 5 911s and the latest generally is the best......although the 992 interior is too Audi like to me, but that is the future.........love my 991.2 Turbo S
Do you guys know why the 991.1 was offered with aerokit and the 991.2 not? Also I've always wondered if the aerokit on 991 make the car lighter, since they drop the mechanism of the electric spoiler...I think that could be like 10 lbs lighter, but it's just an opinion with no source. I love pccb, carbon hood, lightweight glasses, seats, exhaust, battery and everything can make the car lighter. Thanks.
Great question. Not sure why it was only offered on one variant. In terms of the motorized spoiler, when I removed mine to install my Techart wing, the assembly felt like it probably weighed like 5 lbs maybe? Total guess though.
3 years have passed (And I haven't) and my 17 991.2 GTS, now with 28,000 miles, is better than ever. I drive in the Sport mode....love ht crackles and pops upon deceleration. This is Porsche #8 for me over 3-+ years. If I were to have to purchase a car, I would get a 991.2 Base, Carrera S or GTS....drive one, you'll buy one! But not mine: It's not for sale!
I also have the 991.1 S. And my color is also black. I also want to make minor adjustments without ruining the classic look. What brand and code your wheels are? I have the stock Carrera S wheels on my 911.
Had a 991.1 Carrera S....great car, but in the recesses of my pea brain, I wanted a GTS. Almost had an 991.1 GTS a few years back, missed it, too slow on the draw...nevertheless, I bought a 991.1 Carrera S last April sans Sport Chrono...but "out of the blue" early this past December (2021)a 2017 991.2 GTS came along with Sport Chrono....10 miles from my house. I bought it: Traded in my 991.1 for decent money. I have put less than 1,000 miles on the 991.2. but so far, I am thoroughly impressed. So much so that I wrote a 22 page article in 2 parts that I want to send to Andrew and/or Christian. I'll search for an email address. This is a great video.
Thanks so much for sharing that and for watching our video! Appreciate your perspective for sure and would love to take a read. You can email me through my website www.nineelevensouth.com
I have a 2015 Targa 4s and I do wish I had a bit more torque. Got a tuning chip and upgraded the exhaust. To really get the most out of it have to keep it at the higher end of the rpm range. I do however that it being the last NA model it will be more desirable later.
I'll answer it for everyone so you save time. The newer one is the improved one. Porsche doesn't go backwards with a mid model update 😂. Question is....991.1 RS vs 991.2 gt3. Same price so which more involving and more fun.
I bought my 991.2 in May 2021 and love it. It offers sleeker lines on the hood and all around, including sportier rear grill that distinguishes one from the other, not to mention the 3D rear lights. As for the turbos = instant gratification at lower RPMS! I think the 991.2 is the best of what it was before the 992’s which changed everything.
Thanks Sean. What some other commenters that think that this is 991.1 puff piece are missing the following points… Yes the performance of the 991.2 is a leap forward from the 991.1. Rear wheel steering, turbos, exterior and interior refinements… etc. But that only tells part of the story, the power delivery is completely different, the sounds, the exhaust, just completely visceral specially with an aftermarket exhaust. These cars drive completely differently at speed also, but to the other commenters point, the performance of the 991.2, specially when you adapt to driving it, is on par to the 997 Turbo
I own a 2016 991.1 GTS manual with a glorious sounding NA engine. Couldn't care less about infotainment...I only listen to the engine and its not a daily driver for me. I have 2019 Cayenne Turbo that's faster and has lovely infotainment. That's what SUV's are for but 911's are for driving not tech screens IMO. Love both cars and they deliver on Porsche brand DNA.
Neither one of you mentioned something very important to a owner of any previous generation 911 like myself. Starting w/the 991.1 cars, Porsche removed access to the engine bay w/o having to remove multiple parts such as the taillights, the rear bumper, the rear wheels & tires, etc. I've watched a few videos of 991 owners including at least one Porsche Technician showing how to get access to the engine bay. The Porsche Technician removed all the various parts such as the rear bumper, etc & did it in about 30 - 45 mins - because he knew what he was doing. It took DIY Porsche 911 owners considerably longer. I'll stick w/my 997.2
@@Alans63 thanks. The comparison was between two 991s so this didn’t really come into play. There are a lot of difference between the 997 and 991. But I appreciate you posting the info!
@@nineelevensouth several reviews described that the power steering that replaced Hydraulic steering from 997, in the first models of generation 991 , came with a little synthetic feeling and lack of connection from the driver to the road. Porsche finally enhanced the this power electric steering with better computer software to fix that problem in later versions of 991 .
Love the question you're addressing here guys, but really - the cars should be the stars, not you guys. To keep the cars in shadow through the whole video, while focusing on you both talking, is a mistake. We're here for the cars! : )
First off - Appreciate you watching. Also appreciate the feedback. This was our first shoot in this location/lighting so we’ll def take your feedback into account on future things we film here.
Yeah, I get where Paul is coming from, but the quality of the commentary here is good enough that I didn’t miss the cars. As well, I’m a 991.1 C4S owner and I’ve studied the 991.2 at length, so I clicked for the discussion.
Every new gen is a better car overall. However I'm a NA guy (turbos are for diesels BUT would I have a 991/2 Turbo S in my garage? Yes and tomorrow, please, but not instead of say a 718 Spyder, Cayman any gen GT4 or a 991 any gen GT3 ) and to me the neatness and simplicity of the 991.1 design (and drive train reliability) does it for me. For the regular driver (people buy power and drive torque...) the 991.2 is for sure a better car in many ways and disappoints just in one chapter: sound (obvious...) plus its complexity will come at a cost for the long term keepers...). But that is the greatness of Porsche and its sport cars: 987, 997,981,991, 992 and even older generations albeit I would not go much before these ones (993s are brilliant but do miss on too many things if one is considering it as regular driver) - all pretty amazing cars: nobody goes wrong with any of them
Well considering I could have bought a new 992 instead of an extremely well optioned three-year old 98 mile 991.1 Carrera 4 GTS for less money, what do you think? I just didn't want a turbo, not even a 991.2. My cash, my choice.
@@nineelevensouth Well I know the advantages of a "turbo" coming from the aviation world, I just did not want a turbo in a regular everyday 911 except in an upper end Turbo or Turbo S and those only come with a PDK, something I also do not want. Both my 993 and 991.1 are manuals. By the way, I drove a 992 with PDK at the Porsche Track Experience, it was OK but not what I would buy.
Good comparison but I’m confused now🙄 I have 911.1 4s and I love it. It’s 50.000 miles and I consider making an upgrade. As a tourer, I can’t decide to go for a 999.2 4s or 991.1 turbo with a less mileage..
Can’t beat a 991.2 with rear wheel Steering and ceramics… Sound is awesome with the burbles/ pops and crackles and turbos spooling up just add to the drama. Anything after 2019 seems to have been strangled .
Great video, thanks! I’m trying to find a fine example of either one personally. But I can’t decide which one I like better. Ofc the NA and sound is a strong point for the .1. On the other hand I prefer the looks of the .2, especially interior wise. Can’t believe you didn’t mention the steering wheels! I would almost take the .2 based solely on the looks of the steering wheel! Plus you get the mode switch up there too (yes try to find a non sport chrono vehicle)
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video. The steering wheel is a bit complicated. Some 991.1s (like mine) actually came with a sport steering wheel as an option which is very similar to the 991.2 steering wheel. Almost everyone agrees that the 991.1 base steering wheel is terrible but a lot of .1s actually had the sport steering wheel optioned, removing this as a reason to need to get a .2 just for that.
@@nineelevensouth Thanks for the reply! Actually, I meant even the sport steering wheel. Maybe it's just me who doesn't like even that. The base steering wheel, yeah like you said, is terrible. I mentioned that I don't like the 991.1 sport design steering wheel at a Porsche specialist firm and they told me it's upgradeable to the 991.2 sports wheel! So there are options! Thanks again.
@@fieramente Yes. I have seen some posts about upgrading to the .2 steering wheel on a .1 as well. So there are options and even with this investment, this would still net an overall savings over purchasing a .2 if the steering wheel is the main difference your'e looking for.
The guy in green. If you like to be a presenter please speak with clarity. Most of the time you are drowning your words and can’t hear you. The gentlemen in white shirt is perfect!!!
I’ve owned both cars. 991. One sounds better and is still crazy fast with a lot of torque. But if you want faster and quicker then it’s 991. Two less the sound 🤷🏾♂️ even if you put an exhaust on it it does improve the sound but nothing compares to the 991. Even on the boxer 2013 and 14 are the best years of that car hands-down
Guessing this doesn't mention bore scoring? Still an issue with the 9A1 engine in the 991.1, though at lower incidence apparently than the 5% ish rate in the 997s. Still, I like the piece of mind of the new cylinder coating in the 9A2 engine in the 991.2. The torque curve runs from I think 1500 to 5000 as well, turbos are I believe pre-spooled and performance is the same as a 991.1 S... still, respect others have a different preference.
I bought a 991.2 Carrera manual because of emissions and how it affects road tax in Ireland. My 991.2 3.0t cost me €790 pa tax a 991.1 3.4 would cost €2400pa
“The last naturally aspirated motor Porsche will make in a non-GT car”. There is a 4.0 naturally aspirated engine in the current Cayman GTS and spider.
Interesting video - The only thing I wish I had with my .1 is the ability to tune to higher power levels easily, but there is reliability to consider when taking those steps. What I most like about the .2 in this vid is the GTS trim level, alcantara etc, but then the centre lock wheels bring thier own issues. Apple car play - Who buys a 911 to sit in it and play with thier phone....???!!!!! Turn the PCM off and just enjoy the drive.
Awesome feedback. Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts. I have a COBB tune via access port on my 991.1 and it’s a great way to get 30-40hp from the 991.1 with a tool you can use yourself to load their off the shelf maps. Also the changes to the PDK with the COBB tune give it a whole new personality. There’s a full video of this modification on my channel.
@@nineelevensouth Thanks! I am running a way behind you, need to get my AWE exhaust kit fitted, some brake caliper paint and then the Cobb is next on the list. Loving the updated look the wheels give your .1 I went for a similar design, but in gold and the whole look of the car has changed.

Turn the lights on in the building so we can see the cars.
I love my 991.1 S 3.8 the perfect car for me at least. Give me a naturally aspirated engine any day 😊

Wouldnt it have been cheaper to buy a 991.2 gts at that point?
@@TrderJ0es yeah, that would have been a consideration for another $35,000 or $40,000 over what I paid. Plus I wanted the NA engine, not the turbocharged 991.2.

Soul makes the best exhaust for these cars IMO, bet your 3.8 screams at its red line!
@@obi-wankenobi7160 You have no idea. Best sound ever!
Even the door panals are different. Ive owned a 991 and 991.2. The indentation for the door handle on the 991.1 was a seperate panel whereas on the 991.2 the indentation was moulded into the door allowing them to put a more modern door knob on it.
Awesome info. Thanks for sharing that.
I bought my 2014 Racing Yellow 991.1 three years ago and paid $75k with 10k miles on the car. I absolutely love the naturally aspirated engine and would not switch this car for the world. After owning 105 cars in my life this car is a car I should have bought a long time ago 👍👍
Nice! Thanks for sharing your story
Exactly why I bought a 2018 991.2. Wasn't going to spend $100K for a car with no carplay.
Cool, thanks for sharing your perspective, especially having owned a lot of different 991 variants. Appreciate you watching!
Interesting to mention that in Germany a good 2013 991.1 is priced the same as a 2016 991.2. Same condition, miles and number of owners.
Super interesting. Thanks for sharing!
The 2016 model of the GTS 911 being the last year of the N/A car is going up in value now. Not sure what it would look like long term but many are already over the 2017 and 2018 numbers of the Turbo cars.
That has always been my assumption. Awesome to see some signs of that already!
Wishful thinking. Not seeing it in my market. 991.2 go for way more than 991.1.
I love my 991.2, I test drove a 2012 base 7spd and it was great and did sound a bit better. When I tested my 17 base 7spd I liked it better for its torque delivery, tunability (475 hp APR stg 1) and car play. The Bose sound system was also much improved .1 vs .2 and the steering and 7spd shifter feel were also tweaked and improved
awesome. hard to go wrong with either and the reasons you chose your .2 are good ones for sure.
In the 991.2 the steering (especially with the rear steer option) and manual 'box are definite improvements.
@@lkearney7299 Thanks for sharing! Really with I had rear wheel steering...
If anything, this video just made my decision even harder lol

@@nineelevensouthwent with the .2 S! Tune-ability of the engine makes it more future proof for me if I ever want more horsepower, also prices have dropped and the delta between the .2 and .1 have closed considerably

Definitely a 991.1 is, hands down, the better car, even if comparable examples costed the same.
Unless you want the 4 liter GT3
@@jimsteinway695 Yes, you're 100% right on that :)... I was just thinking about my price point haha.
Ha! Keen eye! Glad you enjoyed the video and really appreciate you watching!
Loved this! Great conversation. For me, I select 991.1 Carrera S PDK slicktop. Excite! Haha cheers from Tampa Bay 🌴🤙🏻
Thanks! Appreciate you watching
I had a 50th anniversary 991.1 and 991.2 GT3. I stay with the N/A car. In that case you’d want the 991.1 unless you can get the 991.2 GT3
Agreed
I’m considering a GT3 only. You’d say 991.2 over 991.1? Biggest reasons? Thx -
For me the NA engine in my 2015 Targa 4s is all I want going forward. Yes I have the cobb tune but only for the PDK. I have sports exhaust and Sports+ factory options.
Also Tadi updates to my infotainment for car play.
Sounds like a great setup!
That’s awesome. Thanks so much for watching and for sharing your experience!
I just bought a 2013 911. S. Very cool. Thanks for sharing your experience
.2 all day long, Massive torque, nicer lighting and most important of all nicer door handles..
Ha. Never thought about the door handles. Thanks for watching and for sharing.
I own a 2013 991.1. Very easy to maintain myself.
Enjoyed this video comparison and well done! I have an 2013 991.1 which has some minor changes to include Akrapovic Catback exhaust, Bmc filters and Cobb V3 unit. This car is noticeably quicker and the only changes I'm even considering are to add Techart lowering springs and IPD plenum.
awesome. those are all great additions to the 991.1 platform. glad you enjoyed and really appreciate you watching
Good work.
thanks for sharing your feedback
Awesome. Glad you enjoyed the video and really appreciate you sharing your thoughts
That’s awesome. Thanks so much for watching and for sharing your experience with the .2!

Lights, Camera, Action! Lights please - it would have been nice to compare and contrast visual differences with natural sunlight.
3 years have passed (And I haven't) and my 17 991.2 GTS, now with 28,000 miles, is better than ever. I drive in the Sport mode....love ht crackles and pops upon deceleration.

I could care less about speed as I'm using the car for everyday use, groceries, mall. I like the appearance of the 991.2 a bit more than the 991.1.
I am biased with an '18 911T / 991.2 , but 991.1 or any 911 is absolutely awesome
Agreed!
It is anything but settled. Advantages and disadvantages for both.
I have a 2015 Targa 4s and I do wish I had a bit more torque. Got a tuning chip and upgraded the exhaust. To really get the most out of it have to keep it at the higher end of the rpm range. I do however that it being the last NA model it will be more desirable later.
Nice! Appreciate you sharing your experience. Large 4S is an epic spec. Best of all things!
Awesome. I agree on the styling of the 991.2, so good. Thanks for watching and appreciate you charing your experience!
Not when it comes to sound, which is important
I disagree. Changed everything in what way
Great comparison video with some very interesting points. Without leaving a spoiler I was surprised by Christian’s ultimate choice!
Thanks appreciate the feedback! That’s why we thought this one was a little unique, since Christian has actually owned both variants.
Thanks Sean.
What some other commenters that think that this is 991.1 puff piece are missing the following points…
Yes the performance of the 991.2 is a leap forward from the 991.1.

Sounds like you’ve got your priorities straight 😉
991.1 unfortunately has the worst electric steering, finally refined on .2 version!
Not sure what you’re referencing. My steering is just fine.

@@stevenw3393 Thanks man. Really appreciate your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the topics and how we covered them.
But that is the greatness of Porsche and its sport cars: 987, 997,981,991, 992 and even older generations albeit I would not go much before these ones (993s are brilliant but do miss on too many things if one is considering it as regular driver) - all pretty amazing cars: nobody goes wrong with any of them
All very well said. Thanks for watching and for sharing your perspective!

Can you guys do this video for the 997? That would be awsomw
Good idea. We’ll see if we can find a couple of 997 owners that want to film one
.2 can have washers on headlights
991.2 trumps in everything aside from sound. The NA vs Turbo is debatable depending on what you like.
Why is this filmed in the dark
Thank you for the video. The video would be so much better with some heavy editing and lighting. Couldn’t get through it.
Did the .1 C4 come with rear axle steering?
Not positive, but I don’t think so
No it did not.
Well considering I could have bought a new 992 instead of an extremely well optioned three-year old 98 mile 991.1 Carrera 4 GTS for less money, what do you think? I just didn't want a turbo, not even a 991.2. My cash, my choice.
Nice!
Only gripe about my 991.1 is a little rattle in the rear panel passenger side. I'll get to it one of these days... great vid.

We did not go into bore scoring, but good info. Appreciate your feedback and perspective. Thanks for watching!
The 991.2 is a substantially better car up to the GTS model, from here the 991.1 GTS is the better model.
I bought a 991.2 Carrera manual because of emissions and how it affects road tax in Ireland. My 991.2 3.0t cost me €790 pa tax a 991.1 3.4 would cost €2400pa
Well explained
Thank you! Appreciate you watching
Good info, and the lighting should be both on presenters and the cars…
“The last naturally aspirated motor Porsche will make in a non-GT car”.
There is a 4.0 naturally aspirated engine in the current Cayman GTS and spider.
Correct. This was about non-GT cars.
Neither of those are GT cars
@@johnrodgers6049 talking 911s specifically .
Would you prefer a 997.1 Carrera over a 991.2 Turbo or 991.1 Carrera over a 991.1 Turbo? Would you take a GT3 RS over GT2 RS? Ok end of discussion
Are you really feeling the real-steering advantage in your gts? I am a 2019 4gts owner, but I wouldn’t be able to tell if I haven’t been told.
It definitely sharpens up the steering. Makes it more like Porsche of old and that's a good thing.
It’s great in small town settings
991.1 is the best! Here's a race I filmed! ua-cam.com/video/QLvPGzHTkIQ/v-deo.html
Where on earth can I buy a 991.1 GTS for $60-$70k?!
We provided the caveat that those were pre-COVID prices before the market went nuts 🤣
@@portfarm awesome man. Sounds like some great things planned. The journey is half the fun anyways. I have a DIY on the brake calipers on the channel as well, if you have any interest in doing it yourself.
Did someone not pay the electric bill? Why is this video taped in a dark garage? Takes away from the otherwise great video!
Yeah, why are they filming in the dark?
