Something people might find helpful would be a place to compare reviews of the different businesses offering rebinding. Not only comparing their finished products, but also just as important for those of us with limited funds; do they finish on time and as promised? Do they communicate? Do they require full payment up-front and then leave you hanging? Do they make many excuses instead of doing what they agreed and promised to deliver? These would be good to know before considering a rebind, especially if it is on the main Bible you use which contains years of personal note taking.
For sure... I *usually* get my rebinds from a third party, but I'll definitely keep this in mind if I do anything directly with a rebinder through their ordering process.
The red one...oh yes! I just gave away my black goatskin in this bible a few days ago which will be someone's first premium bible. Thanks for showing these rebinds, Tim.
Tim, thanks for comparing those rebinds. Both are beautiful, but the Lion and Lamb definitely speaks to me. I guess it's the Allan-esque look that grabs my attention. That, and the crazy goatskin!
Another great video, Tim! Simply beautiful Bibles! Tantalizing fun hint of things to come at the end there too! If you ever decide to let that Lion and Lamb rebind go, I would love to have an opportunity to buy it! I confess that I have loved that particular Bible of yours since the first time I saw it!!! I immediately decided to have a Lion and Lamb rebind of my own someday soon!!!! LOL
Next to the rebinds the standard Thomas Nelson edition looks really good. That's quite impressive, shows how premium they really are. Post Tenebras Lux do great work, but that red leather on the Lion & Lamb rebind is amazing. I've said it before, but its worth repeating 😁 Regarding the raised/tooled ribs/bands on the spine, I'd say it depends. On both of those rebinds, the ribs are working well for that "configuration." I usually think that five is the right number, but the four tooled ribs on the Lion & Lamb rebind are working really well.
Even though I just bought and received my new Schuyler Quentel in marbled mahogany calfskin, I can’t help but watch your videos. Do I regret my purchase? Nope. But man, talk about a stunningly beautiful rebind…. Thanks for the video!
Does the perimeter tooled line add any value to the construction, or is it purely for aesthetics? I think it looks nice, but it might be something I'd just pick at over time.
Tim, Just had my Bible rebinded and repaired by Leonards Book Restoration ~ They were outstanding to deal with ~ they came highly recommended by Evangelical Bible. I would like to see an honest video based on just bible rebinding company's. Leonards required no deposit and the turnaround time was less than a month with outstanding communication. Great people to deal with!!
Hey Tim, how would I get in touch with Lion & Lamb if I didn’t have FB? Do you know where they are located? I’m still looking for someone to remind my childhood Bible. Thanks much!!… That red is stunning*!! 🤤
Did you say Tim that you bought those Bibles rather than ordering the rebinds? Can one buy Bibles like this direct from rebinders? I loved that deep red one. 😊🙏
@@timwildsmith thanks for your quick reply. I just looked them up. They have a nice video. A family business. They're posting (on eBay) an already rebound ESV large print personal size that is calling out to me. God continue to bless your work Tim!
I think i prefer the standard version over the rebinds. I find these rebinds to be too eccentric for my personal taste, however in saying that they are very unique.

I'd appreciate this too! Do this Tim!!!

I think they both look really awesome! But I’d have to go with the Blue PTL

You're welcome!
That leather looks fantastic. I want to find out exactly what leather it is.
I love that red! The tooled ribs are exactly what I like.
Nice!

I love that one, too!
The Navy NKJV is my favorite because Navy is my favorite color but I do love the grain pattern on the Red NKJV Bible as well.
Nice!

Great input... thanks, Grant!

So nice, aren't they!
That red Bible takes my breath away. How can I order one of those.
I would take that red leather with the binding style of the PTL, that perimiter stitching, semi-yapp is beautiful
Oh yeah!
I LOVE that red fatnat red goat rebind !! I want a rebind in that leather someday
Gorgeous!
Blue PTL for me thats a stunning looking Bible would not mind to invest in one one day. Great work on both but the Blue one is clean.
Right on!
I'm torn between Premier KJV Bible (red goatskin) and the Cambridge Clarion (black goatskin), thoughts?
What kind of leather is on the cover of the Lion & Lamb? I really like it!
It's a secret!

Hmmm... I would think that it keeps the edges held down.
They look great!

I think he has his email address on his FB page... if not, shoot me a message and I'll send it to you.

I bought them from a friend!
@@timwildsmith Gotcha! Thank you 🙏
I miss that red one…
(single tear)

Quick, and probably unrelated question: Are you familiar with Schaeffner Co rebinders? Like 'em?
Not familiar.

I hope i have that so precious Holy Book to in leather 😇

I get that... not for everyone.
Beautiful rebinds. Looks expensive
