It’s Finally Time! Top Ten Bible Rebinders
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 вер 2024
- This video has been about a year in the making. I’ve put in so much work, and a lot of my personal finances to make this happen. I hope this video helps you make a good decision should you be in the market for a custom rebinder. One thing to keep in mind is most of them have at minimum, a 6 month lead time. Some of them even more. Another thing to keep in mind is this list ony includes rebinders whose work I have seen in person. I am sure there are many more good ones out there that I simply have not had the opportunity to see.
Here is a link to a playlist of every rebind I have ever reviewed.
• Rebinds
Awesome to see all these new Binderies flourishing! Great video 😊
I know you recently accepted some rebinds after halting for a while. Are you back at it full time? Blessings on your ministry by the way.
@@GINZO4849 We are still closed to accepting custom orders, we haven't taken any new orders since closing July 1st 🤠
@@frostLeather Your ministry should come first, so good on ya!
Floresh and Logos have that artistic something that is difficult to quantify.
all of these guys and gals do AMAZING work!!! my favorite is ICA, Resurrection rebind, FLORESH
Have owned a ton over the years. Will say for the most part they are all great to work with. My preference based on my own personal style would be 1. Caloca, 2. Lion & Lamb, 3. PTL, 4. ICA, 5. Cherry Hill, 6. AE, 7. LOGOS, 8. FROST, 9. RESURRECTION, 10. AA. Good video, appreciate the fact that you stressed this was based off of your preferences. All of these guys are great and we are blessed to have such quality craftsmen.
Very informative. Thank you fior this video!
I think I'm going to go with Floresh if I ever get a rebind...
I really like their wraparound spine hubs and the hymnal end sheets, among other features.
Well done to all the rebinders! a very well-deserved list.
Good job, Nickels. I look forward to many more videos from you, and hopefully, you will get a chance to see more top-tier rebinders out there and get a chance to review their work!! Cherry Hill, Frost, and a few other top-tier rebinders deserve their moment. Shout out to ones that have retired or are not doing it much anymore. There is so much beautiful amazing work out there. Great work, Nickels. No pitchforks here. 😂😊❤🎉💯
Frost has technically quit. Cherry Hill, I am not certain would change the poll. Other than Caloca I can’t think of anyone else I’d really like to see.
That was fun! Thanks for sharing all of your thoughts. Of course we are all allowed to have stylistic favourites and preferences and there should be no apologies for that. I think the breakdown of the check points is helpful as we will all have our own list of priorities when we wish to have a rebind done. :) Cheers!
Such a beautiful collection of rebinds!
I am helping JV Bibles hown his craft. Discovered him through Tim. He sends pictures every time he works on it. I have two. They are my only two rebinds. Love them.
He will certainly be in my up and comer video.
Excellent video. I enjoyed it
I was also surprised Cherry Hill didn't get a mention.
I’ve never seen his work in person.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews I have a couple of Bibles he did. Top notch.
He isn’t top ten good. Maybe if the list was expanded.
@@danielsteinberg5281😂😂 are you kidding? Cherry Hill is top 3!
@@logankolarick1646 Top three??? He is second string, mid teens at best lol.
Let’s gooo ICA is amazing love Jon. God bless him. I found him because of you.
Shout out to annesi bindings! Have several of her books and one journal. Amazing work.
I got my Mom's 1934 ASV rebound by Resurrection Rebinding, and he did an AMAZING job! Glad to see he's in the top 10!
I have a CSB Day By Day Chronological rebind going in to 412 Rebinds. I think he's going to do a great job making it into a long lasting, hardy Bible that looks beautiful, too!
I went with Floresh Bibles for my 1st rebind, looking forward to it! No surprise they are Top 3, their work definitely speaks for itself.
The one with the custom endsheets is so cool, might have to get one of my bibles rebound with that! ❤
Great (and surprising) list! Out of the 2 I have, Logos and ICA, both are absolutely top notch in their own way but I prefer Logos by a hair! It’s the spine work and stitching that put me over the edge. I’m on the waitlist for Redbird and R&R, I am so excited to see their work. It’s so hard to compare when they’re all so unique!
Redbird is #1 in my book! (And did the two in my profile pic)
Tim, you and I are very different people 😆 I love how clean, precise, and modern Lion & Lamb and Reformed & Rebound bibles look. I especially love their logos. Your ICA rebinds wouldnt be to my taste...a bit too much going on and lacking the modern flair I'd want in a rebind. Looks a bit too noisy and old timey to me.
I see you are perfectly OK with being wrong. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews LOL
Got to love 312 Rebinds ....Mr Cedric
Thanks for sharing. Yes L&L would be higher on my top 10. The NKJV he did is my daily and I absolutely love it.
I've just now had a chance to watch this video, but for some reason I kept saying to myself, "Number 1 is going to be Reformed & Rebound". I also like Floresh with the music end sheet. (Music has always been a huge part of my life) and that cover from ICA is so cool! They're all great looking Bibles. I just hate that I can't afford any of them, but that's okay. I'm happy with my synthetic leather Bibles. One thing I like about Jacob from Reformed & Rebound is he's from my state Alabama. Now, if only he was an Auburn fan.
Great video Tim! I realize trying to rank rebinds in several respects is like trying to rank ice cream flavors. My top 3 personal picks would be L&L, Redbird and R&R. If Redbird keeps improving he's going to be a legendary rebinder in no time. I tend to be drawn to rebinds that have a more understated elegance and look tightly put together. Some rebinds are a bit too gaudy or sloppy looking for my taste. In terms of sheer precision of craftsmanship, I feel L&L has the edge. Floresh is quite unique, but I just can't get past the fact that its a paste down.
Don’t let the paste down fool you. It is edge lined and solid. It’s just a style difference.
Got my walking shoes on!
Really scared.
I have used Leonard’s rebind and restoration and Retreasured Rebound Bibles he uses Bison leather
I had a Retreasured. Good work. Not my style at all.
I’d like to see a list of the least expensive rebinders.
That’s going to be my video of the up and comers. Most of the ones in this video are going to be in the lower to mid $300s with the options. PTL, Lion and Lamb, and AE Bibles are going to be in the more expensive $500+ end.
Ready to protest!
I’m scared.
Great!
Do you know of anyone that can do rebinds with beautiful leather stamp work like beautiful flowers like the gorgeous Bibles sold by Hosanna Revival?
I need to do a rebind for my daily Bible - and would love to have a beautiful floral pattern embossed but from what I see, most of these just do simple leather engraving and tooling options.
Perhaps Anessi. She does some great stamp work.
Jeremiah Frost is another great rebinder, especially if you like the classic Allan style!
That’s my issue. I just don’t.
He doesnt take orders anymore unfortunately.
@@mikej2713 Not right now, but that could change depending on when he feels God leading him
Why I feel like this is sarcasm? Lol @@exagem
@frostLeather Not at all, brother. You rebound a Bible my Dad gave me a decade ago and I love it. I also personally donated to your evangelism ministry. I happen to follow along with your socials and wanted to update Mikej2713 on the latest. I would encourage you to re-read 1 Corithians 13 where we’re told by the apostle Paul to hope all things and believe all things- to hope the best and believe the best in others. Much love brother.
Tim, what are your thoughts on Cherry Hill rebinds?
I’ve not seen his work in person.
Ive had some of his and it feels like a much more expensive Logos without the good parts of Logos' craftsmanship. Really thick covers, not the best corners, smaller bibles do not lay flat well at all. Cherry Hill does have some very exotic leather options though
Overrated. Overpriced. Ugly. Don’t lay flat
Are you going to do a new rebinders battle?
Yes.
Very difficult to rate! All look amazing
I would add Frost Leathers.
A little surprised Cherry Hill wasn't on the list.
There are a lot of up and coming rebinders but I still think ICA is the best
I’ve not seen their work. ICA is my favorite for sure.
Tim only reviews Bible's he gets for free.
Do you hvae a Frost rebind? Curious how he would rank as I really like his channel.
I’ve never seen his work in person.
Tim only reviews Bible's he gets for free.
Let’s gooooo
Actually I’m not.
Should we stay or should we go now? 😂
Shoot, I've never had a Bible rebound.
Could you add contact info for each rebinder?
Honestly a simple google search of their names is all you need.
Good to see AE Bibles slip in at the end as an HM. I've currently got an RSV with him, and while it's been a very long wait so far, I know the quality will be worth that wait; and as for the criticism of it being "stock," I'm actually glad to hear that because I wanted something that looked "official," you could say, rather than something too extravagant. Before AE, I've had two rebinds with Retreasured Rebound Bibles and one with Leonard's back in the day. I've got one unique 50s Bible that I came into possession of recently, with a great text block but a detached spine, so I'll take your comments into consideration as to who I might send it to.
How long have you been waiting? They've had one of my Bibles since April 2022. I've reached out multiple times and haven't gotten any real answers on when it will be done. Last time I reached out was June of this year and got told, "We plan to start your order within the next two weeks." Nothing since then.
I understand that they've been overwhelmed (and I believe have had some issues that were completely out of their control). But I find them a little... frustrating.
@@sozizzy Please don't scare me! You've been waiting for 2 years and 4 months for one Bible?!?!?! I have two Bibles and it's going to be a year. That means that I need to wait 5 years or more?
@@sozizzy He recieved it from me in December 2023, but I started the order process in October 2023-we just went back and forth over details for several weeks. Whether I got my place in line when I started the process or when I paid/shipped, I don't know. As of now, Adrian has stopped taking new orders on his site specifically because he's acknowledging the size of the backlog he has.
September would be 9 months for you. As for me, this September will be 1 year :(
If you go with AE Bibles, you better prepare for a long wait. He has had my Bible since December 2021!! That’s right; coming up on three years. I’ve since purchased two more of the same Bible, in case I never see my original again. Not to mention the over $350.00 that I prepaid. Someday I may trust someone else to rebind one of the replacements. Word to the wise: you have been warned.
No Cherry Hill???
No Cherry Hill.
@@GeorgeHillmanJr Tim only reviews Bible's he gets for free. The reason he hasn't "seen" some work is because some people don't have the bandwidth to be sending out free Bible's and Tim is not willing to purchase full on rebinds to review. He'll sure receive at no charge however.
@Michael-tu3jf this is so inaccurate. I bought several of the Bibles in this lineup. The reason I haven’t “seen” all of them is because I’m not made of money. People have no idea how much I’ve spent in order to make this video happen. There was a reason it took over a year to accomplish it. Appreciate your comment though.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews Sure Tim. Receipts?
Just ask the binderies. Have a great day.
I’ll be watching tim frisch if you’re looking for me
Bye.
