Hi, Rogerina
@@yoannam.2243 Hello. 😂
IS THAT ROGERINA IN YOUR PICTURE
I love that fact that Jessie was just like “I’m gonna make a video about people not liking books I like........and I’m gonna dress like a 90’s boy band member while making it.” 😂
Good Video 10/5 stars

"hope your books are not dusty" ok let me just go check my books
I can tell you right now my bookshelf is dusty
He said “hope you’re drinking lots of water” so I grabbed my water bottle at drank some water
That shirt is everything and I’m obsessed. We love a fashion icon! 💁🏻

Hey look Lockhart finally wrote an accurate autobiography called Genuine Fraud. *laughs in Harry Potter reference*
Oh God 😂😂😂😂😂 I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be true. 🤣😂
Underrated comment 😂😂
Violet Nicole exactly what I thought
Sounds like something Lockhart should write😂😂😂

so the bullying not being noticed is VERY realistic, at my school they don’t care almost at all
And you never want to tell for some reason
(I hope it's not only me)
I know right? I had a friend who was basically being harassed by this guy who was using legitimate slurs against her, not even just making fun of her. She reported him multiple times and they did absolutely nothing.
I dont know who thinks bullying doesn't happen any more but rest assured it is still alive and kicking.
I got bullied a lot for being gay, one time I reported it and my teacher basically said it was my fault for being this way so yeah naturally I never said anything again and even my super nice teachers didn't notice cause it happened during breaks and stuff when the teachers weren't around
Stef B you can try reporting it on wetip .com Is the friend still being bullied? I hope they are okay :) Support them
Sooo..is this basically jesse reacting to his own video?
Yes 🤣
"You know you live a boring life when this is your idea of fun"
"Someone needs a hobby and that someone is ME"
"don't worry I hate me too"
the way your voice rises at "if you know what kind of party you're attending"
I love your attitude so much your channel is a beautiful clean cozy place to be
We love an unpopular opinion king 👑💪🏻
lily hayward it‘s still early here and I read „onion“ instead of „opinion“ and it utterly confused me 🙈😂
@@kristina_rr loooool that wouldn't make any sense tho 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When I see a negative review on a book I really like, it usually gets to me. I feel like my opinions are wrong or that everyone else is way more thoughtful. So it's really nice to hear you talk about someone elses opinions like it's not a big deal (which it isn't I'm just a sensitive baby🙈)
Side note: your outfit is bomb
You can really tell how much kpop has influenced jesse’s fashion 😂
I think he looks more like a 90s boyband member, maybe I just listen to too much 60s-90s music.
Rubio Melanie fair! A lot of 90s fashion is becoming trendy again!
Jesse likes unlikable characters???

YOU DONT SAY!!
(My foreign mind is telling me my grammar sucks but for some reason "you dont say" sound ok while sounding completely wrong so... I will roll with it and wait for some one to insult/correct me)
Sunny Sunset don’t worry we say that, english is weird😂
It’s fine!! Don’t worry :)
Don't worry, that's something we say all the time :)
Nah fam! You’re good! English is weird
I feel you with the grammar thing. English is my third language and I constantly double check all my comments and still feel like I'm wrong all the time it sucks
Other readers: Genuine Fraud is misleading!
Me, having never read it: it's literally called "Genuine...FRAUD." like, irony, I guess. Enjoy the irony and smile.
For me personally, the writing style is what bugged me. I could get behind the story itself but the writing style was not doing it for me :/
honestly romit & jamil is probably low rated, not for insta-love, but due to the very highly controversial topic of the israel/palestine conflict
Don t worry Jesse! I get your references! I'm so happy that I found a Christian booktuber :)
You don’t understand how freaked out and happy I was when I realized your profile pic was Keefe Sencen
“If you know what party your attending, you show up prepared”-100% true
I get your Christian references 🙋🏼♀️😂 also I like your milkshake analogy for genuine fraud but I think it’s more like when u order something at a drive thru only to realize when you get home that they messed up your order 😂
I can't watch your videos without thinking:
Dang I would toatally wear what you're wearing.
You can interpret that as you wish
Ah, I can understand wanting to wear someone's skin
Basically Romeo and Juliet was the OG of insta love😂 so no surprise there that the verse retelling of it was insta lovey too.
Lacking of foundation and realness is basically the only way to describe Romeo and Juliet😂 I'm apparently so bitter towards that shakespeare play😂
Lol, it was one of my least favorite reads in high school. And really I think their love story makes no sense!
Genevieve King same... I understand that the play is set in the times that very young people got married at that age, but it’s basically two 13/14 years olds killing themselves because they think they’re in true love....
@@genevieveking5078 THANK YOU, YOU'RE OFFICIALLY MY NEW FAVORITE PERSON
@@eloise4230 haha yass but also only Juliet was 13 while Romeo (though his age is never confirmed) it is speculated he was a couple of years older, around the age of 19. Like I know it was common then to marry young (especially for girls) but my 21th century brain is like NOPE
Emma L. Omg is Romeo is 19 with 13 year old girl.....e....w...e...w.....

Cheeky Monkey ya if anyone doesn’t enjoy his content for that reason They are kidding themselves I’ve never heard him be strong and overt about his opinions as far as that goes
COME THROUGH WITH THE PRISON VIBE IN YOUR OUTFIT WE STAN A FASHION KING
The Twilight Saga isn't my favorite but... I really don't understand why it's getting so much hate. It really is touching, and, no, it isn't Godly standards, but it isn't trash.
Ok but how is Jesse a fashion king. I love all of his outfits and just WOW I want his wardrobe
Someone needs a hobby, and that person is me.
Relatable
I took a children's lit class in my first year of college and my professor wrote Ronit & Jamil! She put it in the curriculum and I read it and gave it 3 stars. I think being able to discuss the book with the person who wrote it helped me enjoy it more than if I just read it on my own :)
i got your FOR KING AND COUNTRY reference and i loved it so much haha 😂😂😂 LOVE YOU JESSE 💕💕💕
Umm... I know this may sound crazy and absurd but there is a book that one of the most hated books in the world and I love that book sooo much. I actually give that book 5 stars. I don't really want to write the name of the book because I don't want to receive hate or anything. So PLEASE BE NICE WITH THE COMMENTS (if there will be any) because I'm going to tell you the name of the book. Okay so here we go... The book is
CURSED CHILD
👀 danggg okay, what do you love about it?
So brave. Actually when I first read it I remember thinking it was good, but now I couldn't tell you anything that happened. When people started disliking it I'm like Did I read a different edition? Cause I dont remember any of those parts.
I gave it 4 stars for overall enjoyment but after seeing other people's negative reviews I understand but I'm still keeping my 4 star rating.
Anybody else low key missing the whoosh in the intro
"hope your books are not dusty"
*sweats in lazy reader*
I love for KING & COUNTRY !
And the video too, of course. 😊
Thanks for sharing!
I love that there is main jesse doing the video and then shady jesse appearing every once in a while to shade main jesse. But at the same time i just wanna say "JESSE LEAVE JESSE ALONE"
- Love the concept of this video
- Love your voice so much omg you should narrate books
- Love the outfit
"I always make those Christian references hoping that someone out there will understand" We see you Jesse and all your veggietales references 😂😂
Jess The Reader - Only UA-camr I know so far whom I cannot watch with 2x playback speed.
I love this video! The concept is really creative and the inputs of commentary Jesse were super funny. Also you're so well-spoken (unlike me as you can see in this comment) and I love hearing your opinions. Given the contrast of opposing opinions they were even more interesting (not that they're not interesting without other opinions tho sksj this sounded kinda bad). Your videos are always superb on the editing and content level and idk ily i hope you have a good day~
love the orange shirt!! who’s your godly parent?? 😂😂
I understand the Christian references! I feel you!
"someone needs a hobby and that person is me" uh Jesse your being weird on the internet is your hobby
Totally got you “ l got the joy, joy, joyless reference. “DOWN IN MY HEART TO STAY”. so now I’ll have that in my head all day.
Every time I shave my legs I miss a patch of hair it's frustrating
Jesse should grow a beard.
I just feel like it would be funny😂 and I really want to see what he'd look like.
I got your Christian reference and I laughed lol
I got the Christian reference and loved it lol.
I can't stop admiring your amazing editions of Uncle Rick's books. I'm in looooove.
My idea of fun: watching Jesse talk about low rated books on goodreads (LET'S GET OPINIONATEDDD)
Thank you Jesse for bringing joy to my heart and making my day a little brighter. 😂
when you're early but don't know what to comment 😚
edit: on the flip side of this video, the Lunar Chronicles is rated really highly, but I could barely get through the first one! I just found it so cliché and predictable! but obvi, I'm open to others' opinions? xx
so u comment that u don't know what to comment XD
@@jessethereader I tried to come up w something witty to say but couldn't think of anything, haha! ❤
I couldn't get through the first book 😖
@@chocolatedepresso4658 I liked the 1st and 3rd acts but the second act was a slog. Still going to continue with the series tho
I mean yeah, but I find that rather charming. You know _basically_ what’s happening next, but it’s still fun to read. Just a personal preference tho.
I legitimately never realized Lemony Snicket wrote more novels after "The Series of Unfortunate Events"! After I saw his name on "Why We Broke Up", I had to look up the novel. I'm not sure if I'll like it or not, but I plan to give it a chance simply because he was such a huge part of my childhood! 😄

Your necklace is made out of safety pins??
I completly understand why you like Genuine Fraud. I personally didn't. I found the mystery confusing and I was annoyed at the end of the book that I still didn't understand the main character: her personality, motivations...
Why do people consider 3 Stars low? If that's poor what's 2 stars then much less 1? Anyway cool video. Loving the alternate wardrobe Jesse the trendsetter.
At 10:33 people felt like they were being sold something completely different (misleading market)... The book is literally called ' Genuine Fraud'... Anyone else see the irony in that?
Okay I've never read Ronit and Jamil, but why are people complaining about instalove in a ROMEO AND JULIET RETELLING? What else was there to expect? XD
A lot of people seem to really dislike Restore Me and Defy Me and I understand why but I'm fine with it if only because I'm just happy to see Kenji and Warner again😂
I'm not ashamed to admit that I've always loved the Twilight series. They're cheesy and not very well written, but god damn they bring me so much satisfaction and entertainment. #EndTwilightHate2020
What is we put one word out of every book in the world inside one book. How long would it be? I mean, it would be REALLY long but... that would be interesting
So, huh, bullied people here. Not a single teacher saw it before my mother told about it to a teacher. It's only after that that they started notice it and things started to get better. So the "teacher no noticing bullying" in an unfair complain to me xD
Now, I can't talk about bullying without a quick message; if anyone read this comment and is actually bullied: Please, talk about it. The others might try to make you feel guilty about it, or saying that you're weak, but it's only because they don't want to get caught and punished. It won't make you weak, you actually need quite some courage to talk about it.
the point about people saying that bullying went unnoticed: Jesse is right in this one, I was bullied myself when I was younger. I even told my teachers, they didn't do shit. When my mom confronted them they just said "Oh she never told us anything" and then continued doing nothing.
“You don’t watch a Disney Channel movie expecting cinematic greatness”

Just finished reading the series about Miss Peregrine and I FREAKING LOVE IT! definitely my new favourite books. Thanks for the recommendation
Me - Spends 15 min making hot chocolate
Jesse - Hope you are drinking lots of water
Me - looks down at my cup with disappointment. Shame on you hot chocolate how dare you not be water!
If you want a book written in verse that has character growth and a captivating plot, you should read Unbound by Ann Burg. It takes place in the 1800s and it’s about a slave girl who is moved from working in the fields with her family to work in the kitchen in the Big House. One day, a white man helps them to escape and they encounter a lot of troubles. It’s really good, and I highly recommend it
Hey y'all just a reminder that Jesus is real and loving. He loves those who love Him and draws near to those who draw near to Him. Love y'all have an excellent day💜
You coming in I interrupting yourself is funny hahaha! Also, I love how each person feels differently about books! There are some books that I can't understand how people dislike or like it!! It just doesn't seem possible! It's kind of like that question: do we all see the same colors?? Lol
If anyone else wore the outfits Jesse does they would look crazy but our boy makes it WORK
Bro this man has beautiful teeth lol that's literally all I look at when I watch his videos
If you like unlikeable characters, I’d suggest checking out Enter Title Here by Rahul Kanakia if you haven’t yet. The main character is literally known for being unlikeable lol.
Twilight is a gated book that I love. I’m not sorry. We all have our own opinions as he said
You should really give poetry writing styles books a chance again. The best book I've read in verse was "solo" by Kwame Alexander. It's not pretty words, with an author want to speak. It's a book that tells a clear and eye catching story 💓.
I reccomend this to Jesse and anyone else.
"what's the reason behind this video? content" JESSE I'M CRYING
Wait oh my goodness are you a christian?? That makes me love you even more
I love this video. I love your analysis. I think if is a great discussion. I make the Christian references hoping someone will get it. I am here 😀
Investigate their minds. Love it.
If I have "Down in my Heart" stuck in my head on repeat all day I am sending a strongly worded letter
I read "we were liars" by e. lockhart and I feel like making the reader figure out what's going on is just her style. It has one of the best plot twists I've ever read at the end, and for the whole book I had no idea where it was going. Also, it only has like 130 pages, but nothing felt rushed or cramped in, I really enjoyed it.
I LOVE unlikable characters too, they're so fascinating! But I know not everyone likes them :')
A book I really enjoyed and most people didn't is Glamorama by Bret Easton Ellis (it also has a very unlikable mc) :p
you've convinced me to give Genuine Fraud a try after hearing all those mixed reviews
Bless your Christian references! It brings me back to old VBS days.
I know that I struggle with Lockhart's other books because her writing style is always the same, and it's easy to expect it to be basically the same thing. But that's my own problem that I have to work through when it comes to books!
goes into video expecting to come out with bookish thoughts, instead leaves singing "I"ve got that joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart. where? down in my heart! where? down in my heart" Christian reference fully enjoyed lol
I got you on that Christian reference 😂 I am so happy to have found a really good Christian booktuber who keeps the mind open to lots of books, even ones that most Christians would frown on. I do the same and like seeing why Christians may or may not be ok with certain books for myself.
I love Emergency Contact, it's one of my all time favourites. I don't think it's that hated, but I see negative reviews more often than positive ones! I've also noticed people who dnfed the book place a bad review, saying the main character has an issue, but later in the story her friend confronts her with it and she works on herself to make it better so eh. A book doesn't have to be everyone's cup of tea, that's okay. as long as we're glad other people did find something they love, even if we don't ourselves.
🎶 I've got the wonderful love of my blessed redeemer way down in the depths of my heart!🎶
Where?

We stan a Christian booktuber and a for King and Country fan
This video really inspires me to ignore Goodreads ratings for books I want to read and just go for it, and I love that :) I’d love to see more Booktubers do this
I loved Genuine Fraud, I didn't even noticed it was low rated. And about the description of the book, it is honestly impossible to clearly explain this book without spoiling it completely. And yes, the ending was not the best but definitely has the wow/shock element in it.
Emergency Contact had blah meh feedback in BookTube. But, I dared to buy it and overall, I 💖 it. 😂
I love that you remind us to drink water in your intro Jesse ❤️ Also I commend you on still being able to hold your own opinions of books when faced with different, negative ones! The book I gave 5 stars when it has 3.4 stars is Atlantia by Condie, Ally. Don’t worry Jesse, I get those Christian references
Your my favourite youtuber
Logical Jesse scoffing at the excited Jesse are my favorite parts of his videos... :'D
I understand those christian references Jesse.
Just wondering if you ever read a haruki murakami book?
I didn’t understand genuine fraud. Many because of the friends and relationships. I should try rereading it tho
Lol I get those Christian references
Thanks for all the amazing things you do and the content you make. You are great
