Real estate is one of the greatest career paths in the world (if you have what it takes!). Here’s a quick 5-point test to see if you should become a real estate agent.
Do not become a realtor if you are...
    1. Lazy.
    2. Impatient. If you think you’ll make a 6-figure income overnight.
    3. A DIY-er. (Do-It-Yourself-er) If you’d rather figure it out on your own.
    4. A Quitter. If you give up easily and just want to “try” it out.
    5. Not driven. If you need somebody else to hold you accountable.
A real estate career is for you if you’re willing to work hard and get training & coaching from someone who already has the success that you want. And if you have a big dream, that will pull you through whatever failure comes your way.

These five factors are the reason why I have to be a real estate agent. I don’t want to be lazy anymore and not do anything‚ I am patient ASF‚ I am hungry for knowledge and learnings‚ I need to push myself forward and to never give up on life‚ and lastly‚ I want to be AMBITIOUSLY DRIVEN. I badly need a change in my life.
2023 UPDATE: Hello, guys! Thank you for your kinds words and motivating story/ies. Currently, I am enrolled in BS Real Estate Management and on my way to journey of becoming a real estate service practitioner. Wish me luck! And I wish everyone luck as well!

I don’t know where people get the idea that “most” people think this way. From a Western cultural context, it’s cultural to push hard work, busyness and burnout is a big issue in Western culture. So, exactly where does this notion that people think success is easy to accomplish or purely overnight. If they think that way, they must not be paying attention to much of what’s being said in Western culture, or people are just regurgitating the typical or cliche notions they see online as normative.

Exactly! I'm lazy and have quit so many things until I got into law enforcement and security. Loved it. Now that I'm in my 50's it's time for something new. My mother was a realtor, so I've seen it first hand. I used to hang out in her office as a teen. Plus I ran a traveling notary business for refinanced home loans. I believe I'll do well in this field.

I've bought 2 homes and sold 1 as a homeowner and never likes a go-getter attitude in agents. I found it overwhelming and unreliable.
What I valued a lot is good communication and following through. When I sensed that a realtor was genuine and honest with me then we had a bond.
Now I myself thinking about getting into real estate.
Everyone keeps putting pressure on a person. You've got to be this and you've got to be that.
I say what works for me every time:
*"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."*
God Bless and all the best to you all.

I would like to also remind everyone that often, these negative traits are associated with general unhappiness, uninterest, or depression. For me personally, I’m hard-working, happy, patient, and passionate ONLY when I love what I do. Don’t just count yourself out as lazy or unenthused unless you possess those traits even while doing something you love/your passion. If you’ve never done anything you’re truly passionate about, you wouldn’t know how hard you’d work at it. Just try.

@@Ms88Chick it’s needs to be for yourself and nobody else. If you don’t want it bad for yourself, it’s almost impossible to Dedicate the time needed. I wish I could send you a screenshot of 4 of my female team Members today. We all had a big Marketing event we could have all gone to. One said they needed to take son to Orthodontist, another said they had to run errands with daughter, and other said there kid was under the weather. The problem is, nobody makes you do anything in real estate it’s ( all Optional) because your a independent contractor. But if they were getting paid, they would have all showed up to help grow there biz.
So, these are the things i see and hear everyday. That’s why it’s hard to determine who will become great agents and what makes a great agent. The top Agents all have 1 thing in common, they Put everything second to Real Estate. Imagine opening up a restaurant or a coffee house or a sports bar Ex ex. Even though your not getting paid to be there and work; your there everyday and make yourself available everyday. I was 28 when I got licensed

I actually LOVE this devil's advocate side of the argument. Everyone's always saying "you can do this, look at this side hustle, look its so easy. Just take a class and get licensed, etc etc" . But you actually make me question myself and through this self doubt I've come to the decision that I genuinely want to do this. Thank you for this.

This is the same as an application when applying for a job. They always want to pick out those that they don’t think are capable of doing the job. Instead of not thinking you can’t do something, show yourself you can. Anyone can be a diy, anyone can be lazy at times. If you have a dream and passion tho, I see anything happening. I see where you are coming from and I get your view, you have to want it bad.
The way to make it honesty in the “REAL ESTATE” is to be confident and have a lot of friends with big word of mouth and of course yourself. It’s about being trustworthy, knowing what you sell and being confident and being able to sell and change peoples mind. You have to know how to build friendship as well. Real estate is more then selling property, it’s about making friendship and about having others believe in you when making their first or other purchase in their investment.
I’m very thankful I came across this video, as my mother had influenced me with how she was once a Real Estate agent and now a tax preparer. Happy sat

You have to grit your teeth and put your emotions aside, because clients will throw a whole lot your way, even if you aren't the person they are angry or frustrated with. You have to be the one to take emotion out of the equation or the sale could be affected.

wow! Now I want to enter the real estate profession with conviction! It's 2023 and I am ready. I will do the work initially and then I will be in touch. In my view most real estate professions that I have monitored by going out and viewing apartments are lazy. They open the door and are like "here it is" and they stand in the corner on the cellphone while I look around and then ask me "do you like the unit because if not I have others". Say if I did in NYC why the heck am I going to pay you a $3500 commission when you're not really interested in the sales process only want to collect the money because I am required to use you to mediate with the landlord. Competition is needed.

After years of trying to find a career that is self driven based , dealing with small crowds or one on one, something where I'm my own boss ( at the same time not the boss of others), and involving something I'm interested in. I am also passionate about finding outfits that aren't advertised like something you'd see on a tv show. I'm always able to follow strict criteria and price point. I know I'd be able to find the right house for everyone. I'm excited about learning more before making a final decision to enroll to get my liscense.

good afternoon my name is Brian im 19 on my first year in collage. my dad owns a painting business and sense I was little iv always looked up to my dad. this whole year iv been looking in to a number of Careers and degrees that would fit who I am and that will satisfy my needs and drive. im strongly driven I have such a hunger for success and a determination to be someone and was trying to find where I fit and until today I didn't know anything past the moment, I couldn't see my future and I was becoming stressed because I felt that I was waisting time. Iv felt like I don't know my purpose or what I wanted to chase but I knew I wanted to be successful today uv helped me set my eyes on a goal and an image of who I wanted to be. up until yesterday I didn't know what a real estate agent really was I had only heard of it. thank you for your really helpful and inspirational video.

I am lazy only when I don’t have anything pushing me to not be lazy, knowing that years of real estate will make me money will make me not lazy

I enjoy being an investor moreso than a realtor. Idc so much about the $. I just enjoy driving myself around farming for a great deal and getting it for myself.
