I finally found and bought the vintage Kenner Sandcrawler in my country (NL) last saturday. It was the holy grail to my vintage collection. Been wanting it since I was an 80s kid. :)
I absolutely LOVED this video! Last month, I started building my first model since age 14; I went “big” and chose the Polar Lights 1/350 USS Enterprise w/lights. Though I’m 65, I think I can do this. I had to retire in ‘08 with PTSD after responding as a paramedic to the Pentagon on 9/11; my MD thought trying modeling again would be helpful- and it is! 😊 Chris is so impressive and has motivated me even more. Mr. Savage, thank you very much for these type of videos and all the hard work you do producing them. Norm- you do a great job yourself, Sir! God Bless- J. ‘Doc’ Lykins, former USN Hospital Corpsman and Paramedic (Ret.)
Hope we get to see it finished. In 1978 I built a 1/64 scale Jawa Sand Crawler. I only had the SW movie program and a few Starlog magazine photos. It is far from 100% accurate but for the info I had pretty close. It is still today one of my all time favorite builds!! Thx
Great to see Chris’s work get exposure on tested I’ve been following his work for a few years as a fellow collector…he’s got a great r/s propmasters collection as well.
Chris has done some amazing work here , the level of detail is amazing . The Randy Cooper crawler is real nice if you want to put in the work but the work Chris has done is on another level . Also check out his podcast where he talks about builds like this .
The detail of stuff in that thing is unbelievable. I can't imagine the countless hours that went into that. It's like looking at a Where's Waldo scene. That's off to you, that thing is amazing!
Nerf Herder's Worksop member here. We have lots going on with our builds over there! You can lurk and see what we do for studio & commercial kit models there, and maybe you can start taking those steps into building your own studio scale model yourself. The TIE Bomber and Imperial Probe Droid Pod are great first scratch build studio models to start with!
Woooow!! I went speechless when I saw this great sandcrawler!!! I wish haslab could work alongside him and give this beauty to the collectors 🥲🥲🥲🥲 it’s really beautiful. Congratulations for this amazing job.
Really, really incredible build. Also love the concept of the de-merit badges, I'm sure I've earned all of them by now. Also, gotta say that the sandcrawler would make an incredible Burning Man art vehicle.
Damn that's nice! I always wanted a Sandcrawler playset. That way I can store all of my Star Wars loose pieces and kibble in it as junk for the Jawas to sell.
Wonderfest at the good ole Crowne Plaza. When I worked there as an Maintenance Tech. these shows helped make up for the low pay. Wonderfest was always a win with the nicest and most creative people showing off their Models and Projects.
@7:14 the Jawa on the left is looking into what seems to be the entrance to the Kenner Ewok's Treehouse playset. On the middle rear wall, it appears to be the Drive Sprockets, and Wheel Bogies from a Tank kit. The red lighted section also looks like a Lower Hull and the Exhaust Deck from a Tank. I love the ingenuity in making "other stuff" look like it belongs there! Fantastic build. The Force is truly strong with this one. 😃
We don't see them getting C-3PO into the Sandcrawler, but we absolutely do see the Jawas getting R2-D2 into it. He's sucked up a big vacuum tube along the exterior side and then dumped into the main hold.
Wow, the detail of the Sandcrawler is truly awe inspiring. 😀 I'd love to do that with a Imperial Star Destroyer, but I don't think I have a large enough building to even try to build it in... For the full set of all the badges, some naming suggestions: "Destruction Functions", " The 'I swear it', Demerit Bundle", or perhaps the "The Learning Curve Collection"?
I saw A New Hope in '77 in Mystic Seaport, CT, and there is definitely a scene where R2-D2, The Savior of the Star Wars Universe, gets sucked into the sand crawler by a huge pneumatic tube,... (which I'm sure was not huge at all)
Tree of Wisdom Badges; without failure, without adversity, without going back to the drawing board, there is no wisdom gained to pass on. Goes without saying how truly EPIC this sand crawler build is. Please post a post paint vid to youtube or forward to Tested PLEASE!
I did get almost all, with the exception of the Lizzard and the double decker car, diorama from the intro associated with movies I have seen. ... Oh gods! I have become old!
Unrelated request. History Hit just did a D day movie thing and they had these fake paratroopers called Rupert that they tossed out of planes as a distraction. They look amazing and it seems like a super fun restoration/reconstruction right up your alley
Very cool model indeed ohh no the cockpit looked out of scale with the rest I don't think those figures could have fit in that cockpit area they looked under scaled back great job nonetheless.
I’ve always wondered if a sand crawler inspired gold wash plant would be efficient for Parker on Gold Rush. He seems to have found that using a conveyor to lift the pay material to the plant directly from the cut is more efficient than trucking the material all the way up to the plant so the wash plant ends up getting moved often for each new cut and looks very difficult to move.
1:19 or you could say it’s brand new- where the Jawas are ( I believe in the lore) all defunct ones which they stole and are tens-hundreds of year old ~ rust.

I love this build. This video has been a joy to watch.

Chris is the nicest guy so talented. Happy for him - Eben
Thanks Eben!
I could have stared at that sand crawler for hours and not seen everything going on, it was one of the highlights of going to Wonderfest.

I love seeing all the kit parts, a bunch of which I recognize (and in some cases have the kits they came from). This one is a feast for the eyes!
I really appreciate it unpainted but can't wait to see it painted!
100% a proper paint and wash will make this already mindblowing model just be insane.

It's perfect the mood lighting, the detail, everything, what a beautiful model.
Great to see Chris’s work get exposure on tested I’ve been following his work for a few years as a fellow collector…he’s got a great r/s propmasters collection as well.
Dude 2 years for doing this in your free time is not bad at all. I would have guessed twice as long.
I have always loved the sandcrawler, and seeing this model with all this detailing is just incredible! Thanks for sharing this!
Such a talented model builder. You deserve the accolades!! Just fantastic
Thanks brother!!
Next Haslab right here!👍
Dedicated to detail he is. Wonderful work and detail. We need an update after he paints this.

Gosh I miss old Starwars
Now this what HASLAB should release this would be awesome to buy

Very nice sandcrawler. And a nice suprise visit by the Bad patch at the end =)
Woooow!! I went speechless when I saw this great sandcrawler!!! I wish haslab could work alongside him and give this beauty to the collectors 🥲🥲🥲🥲 it’s really beautiful. Congratulations for this amazing job.
love the Airfix 1/24 parts Harrier Jet Pegasus engines at the rear !
awesome sandcrawler really great model and will be even better when painted and weathered
The ship of my dream for the vintage kenner… with a great scale … Haslab maybe one day !
Loved this so much. Love you both. Old friends need to stick together. You can't make many more.
This amazing. There is so much talent out there. It’s a treat when we get to see it. Thank you both so much for sharing. Really incredible work.

What an incredible piece of art✨
Beautiful build and great diagrams… but we do see R2-D2 getting sucked up into the sand crawler in Star Wars (1977).
Oh yeah Your right.
Damn that's nice! I always wanted a Sandcrawler playset. That way I can store all of my Star Wars loose pieces and kibble in it as junk for the Jawas to sell.

Get that painted dude! Phenomenal build but it needs that crawler rusty brown exterior finish 😍
Amazing to see, and Chris couldn't have been any nicer to talk to. One of the best pieces there :)

Noticed that there's a B2EMO (B2 groundmech) from Andor in there, that's a pretty neat touch to combine some of the old with the "new".
I appreciate your time and work creating this wonderful piece.
Great job!!

I’m doing an Excelsior that’s been in the works for a decade and so many people have helped me along the way.
Constructed with pure joy.
Definitely want to see it painted!
Oh my freakin god! 😳
MASSIVE amount of work‼️

This is just so amazing...I still have mine from 1978 although the remote no longer works.
I'm totally stoked I have NO word's 👍🏽💯💯💯💯🤗💕
I saw A New Hope in '77 in Mystic Seaport, CT, and there is definitely a scene where R2-D2, The Savior of the Star Wars Universe, gets sucked into the sand crawler by a huge pneumatic tube,... (which I'm sure was not huge at all)
Awesome work Chris! I'm glad more people are getting to see your fantastic build.
Thanks Jonathan
Wow! What a fantastic build. Thanks 🎸🔪
The Imperial probe droid being used as a scrap shovel is a nice touch.
I like your idea of calling all 24 "The supervisor", because that person has all the badges at this point. 😂
They will be back... and in greater numbers....

Goes without saying how truly EPIC this sand crawler build is. Please post a post paint vid to youtube or forward to Tested PLEASE!
this is beautiful - amazing work !!!
Looks like an Empire themed sand crawler!
I kind of love a sand crawler that's solid white like this. Even if it doesn't make much sense
incredible and yes there's a scene in star wars where r2 is sucked into the sandcrawler
Absolutely 💯 fabulous! 👏 👏 👏
HOOTEEENY!!
I saw those Rolls-Royce Pegasus engines from Harrier kits. Total ILM move.
07:17 The "wall" with the red lights seems to be made from a german Jagdtiger ... it's the engine deck behind the crew compartment. :)
Wow😱 you are blessed with talent. Great job 👍
I did get almost all, with the exception of the Lizzard and the double decker car, diorama from the intro associated with movies I have seen. ... Oh gods! I have become old!
I'm so glad stuff like this exists and I don't feel the need to collect any of it.
Who here thinks the Sandcrawler is the coolest Star Wars vehicle ever! Imagine if you owned a real sandcrawler, what would you do with it?!
Go on vacation.
6:15 you DO get to see R2 brought into the sandcrawler in the film.
Great job! Adam we'll see you in dallas!!
There's a bunch of tank model parts inside this thing.
I spy some harrier jet exhausts at the back
you guys need to meet again next year
Always love Norm’s, now yearly, Wonderfest model room videos! Love this art form!
The Fandom is the Force.
Very cool!
Unrelated request.
History Hit just did a D day movie thing and they had these fake paratroopers called Rupert that they tossed out of planes as a distraction. They look amazing and it seems like a super fun restoration/reconstruction right up your alley
I would call the bundled the true tested maker Merit collection
Some videos, you can click the Like button even before you view it. This is one of those.
Utinni!
Opposite for me 😅
R2 is vacuumed up a tube into the Sandcrawler
Here is a name for the demerit badge bundle:
The "We Need To Talk About Your Lack of Flair" Bundle.
I saw the Jagdtiger hull as a wall piece behind the probe droid.
still the most amazing Star Wars scale model is a real walking AT-AT built by Brazilian modeler 15 years ago.
"The whole de-merit kit n kaboodle" is my suggestion 😊🤘🏼🇺🇲
06:12 "you don't see the jawas bringing r2d2 (...) into the sandcrawler." eh - watch the movie?
Regarding the De-Merit badge bundle for all badges, perhaps the Catastrophic Success Bundle?
Very cool model indeed ohh no the cockpit looked out of scale with the rest I don't think those figures could have fit in that cockpit area they looked under scaled back great job nonetheless.
The Jawa hanging upside down.
I’ve always wondered if a sand crawler inspired gold wash plant would be efficient for Parker on Gold Rush. Worthy of ILM.
Holy heck❣️🤩
Call the badge collection the "Demeritus Collection"!
Where does Tested get their badges/patches printed? They look high quality and I can't find any company that can consistently create good patches.
Norm did a great job with this one.
Great video sir 😊
1:19 or you could say it’s brand new- where the Jawas are ( I believe in the lore) all defunct ones which they stole and are tens-hundreds of year old ~ rust.
cant wait for more models to be shown. i hope the inside info i got makes it into a video
Definitely need a video on that Gigahorse model from Mad Max
May I suggest the "MURPHY'S LAW BUNDLE" for the full 24 badges?
Call the all badge package the " Big Blunder Bundle"
Make sure to include a droid that speaks Bachkie!
Was that a Jagdpanther or Hetzer hull as wall-filler?
What does a Jawa order at the bar? Martini!
thats cold
