The only superglue I trust is ZapperGap. It can take time to glue Resin but it'll hold! It's extreme power is second to none and I have used so many other super glue. I'd recommend to give it a try :)

😂 I used a large Ork to hide my support rod. Drilling the hole THROUGH his raised up in defense arms through his body and legs . His screaming face looking up at the bottom of the titan's foot where he can see the squished bits of some of his comrades who'd shared the end he was about to experience. 😂 I also made imprints of the feet in clay to make a path of his previous steps. Each one having a racer battle bike squished with some Snotlings😂 in one footprint there's a half squished ork on one side and a half squished space Marine on the other. He's heading into a dreadnought
£1400 for something made of resin, you have to clean yourself, drill, add bits, remove bits and on top of that parts don’t even fit together without heat manipulation. GW is an absolute joke at this point. Anyone spending this kind of money without having an income from it (youtube channel), seriously needs their head looking at. You could buy a 3D printer for that money and print your own models til your hearts content

I built it too, for around £55 of resin. Indistinguishable from the forgeworld model. Saved me over £1300. Printer more than paid for itself with 1 single model.

@@RetlocGaming In official tournaments no I believe not. However in warhammer world nottingham, they have quite a few "official" 'evy metal painted models that are obvious 3d prints with the print lines visible etc... So they are very hypocritical about it all.
I spent 2300 bucks on rebuilding my PC, and all I had to do was connect some wires, install some software, and import my old settings. 1400 dollars for something that took you HOURS just to get into a state where you could even begin test fitting parts is criminal. This stuff is why 3d printing has taken over, much higher quality, lower prices, and just an all-around better product. Mad props to you for putting in the effort, I only dealt with small scale Forgeworld resins when I was still into 40k, and those were bad enough, I can't imagine how bad it was on something that scale.
This is a beautiful educational video to what not to buy.. the amount of extra work caused by just lack of care by the company for the end product and only care about the money is just insane. nothing fits, it weighs a ton and my god it took you a guy who really knows his shit 8 hours to only start the building of this and then hours more with machinery and tools to make it stable !!! great job from you to actually make this thing work.

This video here just may have given me inspiration to do a whole new style of modeling. Taking a model like this. generating a blueprint for said model using CAD or a freemium alternative. and then reproduce the entire thing from scratch by just using sheet metal and other metal components to make all of the parts. each individual panel will be a a piece cut, ground, bent, and attached. Just like making a real life miniature. It would take a LOT of time. but a person like me who has ADHD and has no problem hyper-focusing on a single task just may appreciate a healthy time sink.
I cannot imagine paying all that only to then still put this much work and effort in to make the model actually usable. I admire your craft and dedication. Looking forward to seeing it painted and done!
i would have sent every bit of that back to games workshop and said for 1000 bucks send me a good one . i resin print minis all the time and they all come out perfect. even big stuff . the are just to lazy to fix their printer and know warhammer gamers will put up with alot of shit .

For the cost and as a 3D printer for others, IMHO; 1) models should not come with supports, 2) models should be cleaned, 3) pieces should fit with none to minimal manipulation, 4) power tools should never be a requirement for assembly, 5) models should not need reinforcement and be posed appropriately to not topple over on their own.
I've never played the 40K table top game. I became fascinated with the lore more or less by accident on UA-cam. Lately I've been checking out the way hardcore players buy, build and paint their 40K armies. For starters it is astonishing to me that $1400 only buys you a model kit. As a person who struggles to screw in a lightbulb and has never owned a tool the ability to build these models seems like witchcraft to me. The patience, the attention to detail that is required to build a playable army is fascinating to me and the expense is kind of mind boggling. Finally the painting is what I find most interesting. I simply could not do it with any reasonable degree of quality. My hands are the size of toilet seats and my ADHD precludes me from ever fully committing to playing the game. I would never in a million years have guessed that I would find this kind of content so entertaining.
Since you were talking about ideas, you could add a small shrine on top of the missile launcher (like to bless the missiles or something, with a servitor/statue with a dove head inside). Something not too big, very gothic (like in the Ravenwing Dark Talon or the land speeder vengeance kit).
It would be really cool to have little bits of freehand alluding to encounters with each of your other armies! Like the crew painted an intricate iron cross to commemorate that one time they joined the Black Templars on crusade, kill counters of ork skulls along one gun for that time the titan stood it's ground against the Mad Max Orks, some kind of symbol or freehand across the leg to remember all of the Tyranids that were crushed beneath it's lumbering feet and so on....I bet you could come up with some awesome stuff!

mate, ive been renovating my room recently and discovered few 'cool' materials. they do stick to wood pretty well, but you can get some primer/undercoat for it. get yourself either gypsum (you can get one that dries in 15 minutes) or gypsum finish. its cheap in large quantities, and works like a charm for smoothing, or even casting
To hide the rod under the foot, you could use a crushed Tyranid or other large creature and use Uhu glue to make a bunch of stringy blood and guts affect like it's a bug stuck to the bottom of the foot.
The whole time I was watching this I was just absolutely shocked at all the effort you gotta put in for a kit thats over a grand and those instructions looked absolutely god awful. Gunpla builders rly do have it good

Pardon my ignorance as I haven't put together models before, but why is like a third of the mass of the parts just blocks attached to the actual pieces that you have to remove? "Resin gates", I think he called them? What's the purpose of that being there? I could understand if it was some small byproduct of the casting process that the company decided it would be cheaper to make the end user remove, but some of those look almost as bulky as the piece they're attached to. That's a lot of waste I would think?
I was so glad to see lestoil. About 25 year ago we couldnt find it anymore. My mom found 1 last place and ought all they had. That lasted for more than a decade - but we couldnt find more. We thought it was gone.
Watching this really makes me understand why midwinter mini’s basically screwed on every part of his warlord Titan and then further reinforced it. Imagine how amazing these models could be if remade with modern engineering and techniques
I would consider myself a pretty invested hobbyist. This however, has scared me away from anything at all this size! The amount of work, well done man!
If you do another you may want to think about putting smaller bases for em, I did two just a little later then feet, makes it easier to fit on a table with other mini's

Hey Jay, Just a heads up. Lestoil has pine oil in it and that may prevent paint from sticking properly. I would wash that again with a degreaser before painting if you haven't already.
Idea for the raised foot, if you’re planning on doing a resin pour to make it look like water underneath then you could make it look like water is pouring off the foot as you lift it, and use that to cover up the screw
Suggestion: Roughen up spots with high grit sandpaper or a knife anywhere 2 parts meet that are going to be held together with resin or glue. Gives the material a little more surface area to grab and hold onto.

I spent 35.00 on resin and 3D printed one and yes it was a exact scan of one. Even hollowed it was still weighty. Even if you spent 400.00 on a printer and 40.00 into resin that leaves a big savings.

My newest guard army is my absolute favorite. I lightly kitbashed a rhino for them because its based on an army from WW1 so i wanted a blocky ass tank for it. Im really happy with how its turning out. I just need a shit ton more shock troops, more tanks, some scions, and sentinels.
SUGGESTION: this would be a personal one for me but with you mentioning doves it sprung to mine. My great uncle fought on HMS Rodney during wwII and the ships motto was “ Non Generant Aquilae Columbas” which translates to “ eagles do not breed doves” . Be cool to have an eagle gripping a dove in its talon. That’s my tattoo idea but would be very cool on your titan too. Great work dude! I love how everyone else’s titan projects are years and you just smash out the building faze in 1 video!!

am only a 11 and a half mins into this video but I HAVE to say this might be the best put together titan on the planet. this thing is going to look unreal. Edit: done with the video, this looks so cool the base is AMAZING I can not wait for when you paint it. just a small suggestion for the free hand part. maybe have a cheesy quote written on it, something like "burn baby burn" or "hot to the touch" something corny/cool like that that would feel really on brand for eons of battle etc. am unsure there just ones on the top of my head but am sure someone can think of the perfect one.

Lovely model. I see the real thing every once in a while just stomping around fields. They don't have much use anymore but they keep em up and running just in case. They are mostly used for tearing down condemned houses and buildings.

Fun fact! The Adeptus Mechanicus has some special units called Secutarii that are the literal honor guard of the titans. I found out about them recently, they’re super cool looking and a fun lore tidbit
Damn, man. Kudos for getting your dream model and giving it the professional workover. I've only done a couple of the smaller ones like a Hierodule. Even then I put in less work than was probably warranted. Got 'em used because there was no way I was paying GeeDubs hundreds of dollars for a product whose quality is comparable to dollar store toys.
it might be worth piling up some puttie and pressing his down foot into it to help show that the titan is heavy. Sitting on top of the mud without displacing any isnt an obvious detail, but it could add a bit more to it. Especially if the guardsmen are leaving tracks.
Great build! You really went all the way on making it sturdy with the threaded rods and pins. Looking great! :) I can't help but think that if Bandai made a kit for a GW Titan it would be all poseable with moving pistons, replaceable options for weapons and everything would snap fit without glue. It could even be pre-designed to fit an LED kit. GW really should collaborate for that now that they already made Space Marine action figures and are part of the IP. Using Bandai just for completed action figures which aren't the thing they do best is a bit of a waste really. Or why not let Joytoy make action figs that are Titans in tabletop scale, then sell resin add-ons for more detail for those.
Watching videos like these always gets me thinking of buying one. Then I remember the pricetag, the manhours it needs and the fact that it wont get much play and I get back to my senses. Still a very nice build. Sad that it isn't in Krytos colours...

This is an awesome video, although I did have to laugh when you drilled the Titan like crazy to try and lower the weight then chose “oak” (one of the heaviest woods) as a base.

I've never played the 40K table top game. I became fascinated with the lore more or less by accident on UA-cam. Lately I've been checking out the way hardcore players buy, build and paint their 40K armies. For starters it is astonishing to me that $1400 only buys you a model kit. As a person who struggles to screw in a lightbulb and has never owned a tool the ability to build these models seems like witchcraft to me. The patience, the attention to detail that is required to build a playable army is fascinating to me and the expense is kind of mind boggling. Finally the painting is what I find most interesting. I simply could not do it with any reasonable degree of quality. My hands are the size of toilet seats and my ADHD precludes me from ever fully committing to playing the game. I would never in a million years have guessed that I would find this kind of content so entertaining.
Since you were talking about ideas, you could add a small shrine on top of the missile launcher (like to bless the missiles or something, with a servitor/statue with a dove head inside).
Something not too big, very gothic (like in the Ravenwing Dark Talon or the land speeder vengeance kit).

It would be really cool to have little bits of freehand alluding to encounters with each of your other armies! Like the crew painted an intricate iron cross to commemorate that one time they joined the Black Templars on crusade, kill counters of ork skulls along one gun for that time the titan stood it's ground against the Mad Max Orks, some kind of symbol or freehand across the leg to remember all of the Tyranids that were crushed beneath it's lumbering feet and so on....I bet you could come up with some awesome stuff!

3:10 NEVER hold like that. If that drillbit goes through your hand is f-ed... use clamps and or a vice. this is just begging for the emergency room.
Drills have torque settings my guy, and its resin hes drilling, he'll be fine

8:00 what a beautiful piece of art
mate, ive been renovating my room recently and discovered few 'cool' materials. they do stick to wood pretty well, but you can get some primer/undercoat for it. get yourself either gypsum (you can get one that dries in 15 minutes) or gypsum finish. its cheap in large quantities, and works like a charm for smoothing, or even casting
To hide the rod under the foot, you could use a crushed Tyranid or other large creature and use Uhu glue to make a bunch of stringy blood and guts affect like it's a bug stuck to the bottom of the foot.

Pardon my ignorance as I haven't put together models before, but why is like a third of the mass of the parts just blocks attached to the actual pieces that you have to remove? "Resin gates", I think he called them? What's the purpose of that being there?
I could understand if it was some small byproduct of the casting process that the company decided it would be cheaper to make the end user remove, but some of those look almost as bulky as the piece they're attached to. That's a lot of waste I would think?
I was so glad to see lestoil. About 25 year ago we couldnt find it anymore. My mom found 1 last place and ought all they had. That lasted for more than a decade - but we couldnt find more. We thought it was gone.
Watching this really makes me understand why midwinter mini’s basically screwed on every part of his warlord Titan and then further reinforced it. Imagine how amazing these models could be if remade with modern engineering and techniques

If you do another you may want to think about putting smaller bases for em, I did two just a little later then feet, makes it easier to fit on a table with other mini's

Hey Jay, Just a heads up. Lestoil has pine oil in it and that may prevent paint from sticking properly. I would wash that again with a degreaser before painting if you haven't already.
Idea for the raised foot, if you’re planning on doing a resin pour to make it look like water underneath then you could make it look like water is pouring off the foot as you lift it, and use that to cover up the screw

Suggestion: Roughen up spots with high grit sandpaper or a knife anywhere 2 parts meet that are going to be held together with resin or glue. Gives the material a little more surface area to grab and hold onto.

I spent 35.00 on resin and 3D printed one and yes it was a exact scan of one. Even hollowed it was still weighty. Even if you spent 400.00 on a printer and 40.00 into resin that leaves a big savings.

My newest guard army is my absolute favorite. I lightly kitbashed a rhino for them because its based on an army from WW1 so i wanted a blocky ass tank for it. Im really happy with how its turning out. I just need a shit ton more shock troops, more tanks, some scions, and sentinels.
SUGGESTION: this would be a personal one for me but with you mentioning doves it sprung to mine. My great uncle fought on HMS Rodney during wwII and the ships motto was “ Non Generant Aquilae Columbas” which translates to “ eagles do not breed doves” . Be cool to have an eagle gripping a dove in its talon. That’s my tattoo idea but would be very cool on your titan too. Great work dude! I love how everyone else’s titan projects are years and you just smash out the building faze in 1 video!!

I really enjoy all the pinning, epoxy, and use of threaded rod in this. :) It's like the hardcore version of me being paranoid reinforcing my kitbashes.

just a small suggestion for the free hand part. maybe have a cheesy quote written on it, something like "burn baby burn" or "hot to the touch" something corny/cool like that that would feel really on brand for eons of battle etc. am unsure there just ones on the top of my head but am sure someone can think of the perfect one.

This really puts into perspective how resin is not good for large miniatures as it’s way too heavy and extremely expensive
Having significant battle damage would be cool, like even make mini cracks and damage with a plated welded/bolted on over the damage as field repairs

I built and painted my first Knight model last week. It took several hours a day over a week, and I couldn't imagine building this damn thing.

Lovely model. I see the real thing every once in a while just stomping around fields. They don't have much use anymore but they keep em up and running just in case. They are mostly used for tearing down condemned houses and buildings.

Damn, man. Kudos for getting your dream model and giving it the professional workover. I've only done a couple of the smaller ones like a Hierodule. Even then I put in less work than was probably warranted. Got 'em used because there was no way I was paying GeeDubs hundreds of dollars for a product whose quality is comparable to dollar store toys.

it might be worth piling up some puttie and pressing his down foot into it to help show that the titan is heavy. Sitting on top of the mud without displacing any isnt an obvious detail, but it could add a bit more to it. Especially if the guardsmen are leaving tracks.

I can't help but think that if Bandai made a kit for a GW Titan it would be all poseable with moving pistons, replaceable options for weapons and everything would snap fit without glue. It could even be pre-designed to fit an LED kit.
GW really should collaborate for that now that they already made Space Marine action figures and are part of the IP. Using Bandai just for completed action figures which aren't the thing they do best is a bit of a waste really.
Or why not let Joytoy make action figs that are Titans in tabletop scale, then sell resin add-ons for more detail for those.
Watching videos like these always gets me thinking of buying one. Then I remember the pricetag, the manhours it needs and the fact that it wont get much play and I get back to my senses.

A bit of trial and error with the two pins, some string, and a pencil ellipse technique could help you get a really nice ellipse.
I am genuinely amazed that Games Workshop hasn't been destroyed as a company by the fans. Charging that price for a set that doesn't fit together, lacks a base, has so much wasted resin, etc is just criminal.
This is an awesome video, although I did have to laugh when you drilled the Titan like crazy to try and lower the weight then chose “oak” (one of the heaviest woods) as a base.

Only reason I’m asking is because I saw picture that had a bunch knights like this…… but 1 towered over all! I would say (depending on how high the table is and how tall you are) it was about a foot taller than that! At least!! But it could have been a completely custom job!?!
probbably done and over with, but suggestions for hiding the bolt in the lifting foot, falling dirt and debris from the underside of the foot or have it stepping over a small fortification

Seeing how the quality control of the kit is and the price it’s staggering to even think of this compared to a Perfect Grade Gundam kits ($200-300) or the 1/48 scale kits they sell which are 15” in height, for $100 it’s a wildly different build quality and instruction effort. Honestly wild.
