Please continue to make these wonderful battle reports it reminds me of the old battle reports in White Dwarf in 80s and 90s. Amazing painted models and banners.
I despise the algo as it's not great with notifications but I caught this one and these warhammer videos are excellent and I got 2 previous ones to watch. the painting on those minis is top notch btw
You thought right there- it's the house of a regular opponent and he games very frequently, sometimes with a second table and Monkey (the dog) has learned to live with it.
This is really a wonderful video! It's so interesting to learn how these armies work. I can literally picture them all in battle! Go beat those foes and armies!!!!! Those Dwarves are nasty little beasts!!!!
I like the models of this era as they are quite simple so present all sorts of opportunities for expressive painting. Modern stuff is a lot more detailed so often the painter is left to bring out the brilliance of the sculptor and can't add so much of himself to the miniature. That's my idiosyncratic justification of why I prefer old models anyway!
I am sorry, but how can you expect me to focus on the dwarf army list when there is the goodest boy in the background, happily sleeping and being adorable?
The Chimera had its redemption in an important game to follow (which will appear in a future video)... so it can retain its beautiful earthly form for a little while longer 🙂
Are these comp rules pretty "hard." Lists with special characters, Chimera (no breath weapon?), and Skullcrushers being considered "soft" seems pretty weird. Was there only punishments for taking more than 1?
You can see the comp here. Some special characters are comped, positively or negatively, and some things like skullcrushers and chimeras are comped with multiples but not singles. It's a very good comp in my view (it's not especially invasive and simple) although it's not, as I understand it, trying to equalise army power levels completely- Bretonnians are still quite a bit weaker than chaos are for example. @@DrBlaxill interesting. Only a -1 for Lore of Death and +2 for not taking dispel scrolls seems a glaring error to me... that's a potentially target rich environment for the player who does go nuclear. At first glance it does seem to me that the "predator" lists (taking many negative choices) should have the advantage over the "prey" lists (no negative choices). I like the idea of the Highlander rule though. Perhaps that's a mini game the people with a listhammer powergamer mindset (like me) could distract themselves.
@@benneem Yes, there's certainly a race to try to optimise the comp within the UK scene and of course everyone has their take on what is over and under comped. I think it's quite generous to warriors of chaos and not generous enough to Bretonnians (partly because it's so hard to get highlander with them and their intrinsic weaknesses make some matchups unreasonably hard) but others will have their takes on that. From listening to the organisers' recollections usually about -4 or -5 is the sweet spot to win it, but positive lists have sometimes done well in the past- the chap who was my opponent in the Dark Elf game has won two with +10 orc list (although having fought it, it was pretty fearsome). Certainly I never bothered with a scroll even when it was only +1 for comp as it used to be. I'm a big fan of the comp overall though, it's made most of my warhammer games in the last five years better than they would otherwise have been and encourages people to take different things. For example I would definitely take a Demon Prince instead of Galrauch, but he's -3.
@@DrBlaxill i think its mostly hitting the right stuff but imho needs to hit it harder. A few headscratchers I saw: Dark Elf allowing 3 units of Dark Riders, 2 Repeater Bolt Throwers, and unlimited shades or dark shards completely uncomped seems a mistake, especially when you're punishing other armies for taking chaff clear. Dwarf punishment for Gryocopters looks very steep when it's the only antidote to getting redirected and shot apart. No restrictions on Lizardmen Terradons or in taking 2 Ancient Stegadons (3 if you abuse the Hero mount options). To me that's wild. All that effort trying to comp other chaff war choices but they left the best (non core) one! WoC no punishment for the 1st Regen Chimera and Bloodcrushers! They seem like auto includes.
I absolutely love your battlereports. The narration is great, great pictures, armies and format. Keep doing you! (And chaos, yeees)

Hex era paints too for the most part (I don't compromise on the details!)
I enjoy the story and your sense of humor. Thank you very much.

Thanks!
Great battle report with lots of funny ups and downs and the draw was well deserved for both players in the end I would say.
hmmm for the pupper to be taking a nap in the background, i reckon warhammer games are a common occurrence in this residence

Good to see your colourful chaos back on the channel mate. I'm a big fan of that army!
GLORIOUS!
Love the banners.
Always entertaining narration.
What great models including the banners you created! Wow!!! Very cool video:) Thanks a lot!
Such an engaging battle report, loved it!
Love the theme & look you've got going with your Warriors, one to be proud of!
Had a great time watching this one, thanks again for the effort!
Thanks for another great battle rep!
Excellent report, Luke. What a crazy game. Love it.
Great fun thank you very much. Next time more close ups... Of the little dog.
hound of chaos on his day off
Loving the battle reps and beautiful minis. Well done!
An absolutely entertaining and thematic battle report. Looking forward to more!
Oh my word your bat-reps are great. Keep them coming!

Awesome looking chaos army!
Hey Luke 👋
Love the channel! Keep that nostalgia coming.
I'm a fan of this format and jealous of your spikey boys with the custom banners. 👍

I would love a showcase video of your armies!
Yes I should do one. There's an insta link in the video description which shows most of my chaos but a talk through video would be a fun addition
@@DrBlaxill Exactly!
Pictures are fine but having your commentary would be much better!
Great watch sir 👍
That chaos army is so rad
LOVE YOUR Narration !!!
thanks!
Great matchup
Cool army, nice video
Thanks. I'm going to upload a showcase on my whole chaos army soon.
I am sorry, but how can you expect me to focus on the dwarf army list when there is the goodest boy in the background, happily sleeping and being adorable?
What a cute doggie!
Amazing battle report, highly entertaining - thanks for sharing!
Should that Chimera not be "promoted" to Giant Chaos Spawn already? :D
The Chimera had its redemption in an important game to follow (which will appear in a future video)... so it can retain its beautiful earthly form for a little while longer 🙂
