I am so damn happy with how this beast is coming together, the stuff of childhood dreams and we are getting it done FAST!!!! To be finally going on this journey with the support of Wētā Workshop is just incredible. The summer weather, the old Rohan metal models, the sound of the battle of Helms Deep as I'm working, this is just PEAK nostalgia, and I cannot wait to give you all a finished Helms Deep video for Christmas
@@Patrick-y4d1z As someone who has 3D printed for a few years (mostly FDM, but I have resin printed a bit as well), I'd put this in the 12-18 kg area for filament depending or about 15-20 liters of resin? This is me being optimistic and considering it's been hollowed out as much as possible, and that you use foam to support the structure like Zorp did. Otherwise, increase by about 50% (18-25 kg of PLA, about 20-28 kg/liter bottles of resin) I mean, still dirt cheap to do considering the alternative resin cast/pours would be... less than ideal, but, yea. Electricity cost included (I have fairly cheap electricity in my area), errr, cost to build would be around (assuming $22/kg of filament) $600 in materials? (I buy my PLA in bulk and take advantage of sales, so, for myself specifically and my lower electricity costs compared to the rest of the USA, let alone the world, mmmm, $280?)
Hey Zorp, the channel seems to be flourishing-love to see it! I truly believe you've found the perfect formula to keep us viewers entertained, and a big part of that is because you’ve been so receptive to the feedback we’ve provided. Big respect for that! Keep up the amazing work-and as always, keep zorping around!
Holy wow mate, this is incredibly generous, thank you so much buddy. And your words mean a lot mate, I think we've really honed in on the right balance! So stoked to hear you're enjoying it mate, and thank you again for the super mate, means the world to me and the family :)
It's really cool to see a fairly quick continuation of the project. It's going to really come together with the ground texturing too. That big pop of colour. Very excited to see this in a batrep
Wow seeing the build come together is just so exciting!!! I've never been a Middle-Earth SBG player, just a WH and terrain crafter, but Helm's Deep was always my favourite location and seeing those riders going out the gate, oh wow that did something to me 💯
The lights and music and you dancing had me cracking up. I wish I could be your little hobby assistant on this project. Looks so amazing and fun and what a lifetime hobby dream!!!! Keep up the excellent work
Man I need to get mine done before yours Lauchie😂 looks great man, I’m Upto the massive rock work part myself just drowning in plaster and modelling compound atm , such an inspiration as always mate 🔥🔥🔥
Love it. Don't ever change Lachie "The trick here is to make sure I don't over grout it and lose too much recess detail.......which is basically exactly what I did" 🤣🤣. And here's a suggestion for another build, how about a 1/2 scale size Mnt Caradhras :)
It’s really cool how far 3d printing has come so that Helms Deep can be made like this for MESBG. Hoping this project isn’t as such an intensive behemoth for you Lachie as the palace on terra build! Because its looking amazing so far
The pieces need some convincing hahahahaha Absolute genius! Remembers me of the, now retired, Bard's craft channel: "When you need to fix something, you resort to the obvious answer... Violence!" Excellent video Z!!
This looks so great so I am tempted to quote Adam Savage from the Mythbusters. "If it isn't worth overdoing, It's not worth doing. Your builds are getting more and more impressive for each new location.
Looking good! Two towers was the first lotr movie I ever saw so helmsdeep holds a pretty special place in my heart as the first ever massive set piece from the movies.
Sensational 🎉 honestly makes me so happy seeing this finally happen. When the lotr miniature magazine came out when I was a kid I used to dream of this exact project
You know what dude, sometimes you dont get the most views, or nearly as much as you should. But what you do have is at least 15k loyal subs who'll watch every second of every video. Thats still a lot of people in love with your project.
I'm loving this Middle-Earth build journy. Well done for continuing to tweak your content and editing to find the right youtube formula. Keep going Lachie!
Given how popular 3D printing has become for wargaming terrain, I love that the crafting focus is shifting to ways to refine and integrate printed elements to make our battlefields look all the more extraordinary!
This really is the greatest board in all of tabletop history. Man Helms Deep is just perfect for this. It's obviously massive but it's all there. Nothing left to imagine behind the edges of the board. Beautiful, great work!! And damn those walls are so f*cking high😱 Can't wait to see the next Episode!
Love what you are doing here man. Incredible !!! And I never realised there was stonework repairs done on Helm's Deep before. And I have seen the movies so many times I can't count.
Once you are done with each section of the map you should host some kind of tournament or event and have people do wargaming on them, will probably build a lot of hype
So frickin awesome! Absaloutley gorgeous. Looks just like the films! Cant wait to see some battle reports on it. Have you worked out how many models your going to need to fill it?
This is a dream for my 10 year younger self. Having use the GW castle kit and my imagination back then does not compare to the beauty of what you have in front of you. And while I don't really play LOTR SBG anymore, this is still massively cool.
It would be cool to 3D print a mass formation line of Uruk Hai in the backdrop to create the illusion of a massive siege, while the player sets his models in front to represent the charging units going up the ladders.
I made a helms deep earlier this year using made-up questionable methods with 3d printing and a whole heap of topcoat plaster. I did it, it worked pretty well but i felt like surely theres a better way to go about it. seeing how similar the mega-scenery masters method is gives me a strong feeling of validation and confidence. thank you very much :D

How many litres of printing material was this? (Just want to calculate the cost if I were to do it in Resin)
So, you're a Dwarven Iron Fist player, Zorp?
How big would the Primarch, then, be?
I mean, you build & fortify, you know.

I hope WETA or Peter himself sees this and maybe just maybe offer you a part in the production of the new LOTR Movie. Love the passion and dedication.
WETA have literally already given him a hand in making this project.
Peter Jackson seeing this would be cool. Truly.
Lord knows he honestly really deserve it. 😊
Get this man 1M subs asap!
Aww thanks buddy
you've got me mate

The horn of helm hammerhand shall sound in the deep one last time
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS *BRUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM*
The horn of helm hammer hand slaps
Man, the cliffs behind is going to be massive
Yeah.... next week's problem haha
It's really cool to see a fairly quick continuation of the project. It's going to really come together with the ground texturing too. That big pop of colour. Very excited to see this in a batrep

“Asked where Gondor is” - had me giggling
Hehehehe cheers Joshy!
Every one of these is a joy to behold. The massive work behind it is very much appreciated, I can only imagine how much disappears in the edit!
Just evaporates haha, weeks of work, reduced to 20mins hahaha, thank you mate!
pure joy. I needed this today.
You are most welcome Marky!!!
Looks amazing. Changes so much once you’ve textured the prints and done the damaged walls by hand
Amazing project. Im excited to follow 🤩
Yay! Thank you!
The lights and music and you dancing had me cracking up.
I wish I could be your little hobby assistant on this project. Looks so amazing and fun and what a lifetime hobby dream!!!!
Keep up the excellent work
This is why I’m here! I can’t wait to see one of your battle reports on it!
Man I need to get mine done before yours Lauchie😂 looks great man, I’m Upto the massive rock work part myself just drowning in plaster and modelling compound atm , such an inspiration as always mate 🔥🔥🔥
Hahaha yeah you're doing great mate! Get stuck in!! I've got a HUGE week of plaster and rock molds next week hahaha
Cant wait for the battle report on this
Me too mate haha
Loving the new series! Really nice seeing each portion come together with the massive shot at the end. Looking forward to the final product.
Thank you mate!! we're getting there fast too!
Fantastic work as usual, can’t wait to see a helms deep battle report
The Patreon wall is over a real window. you could cut out an arch in it and that a stainglass window with patreon names in each bit of "Glass".
Oh wow that is a VERY cool idea!!!!!
Love your channel, your energy, and your vision. Glad to be able to support yall!
Thank you so much mate.
Amazing as ever, let’s go Lachie! I’m a patron by the way, love to see it’s worth it
Another great video! I love seeing this build come together and be instantly recognizable! Keep up the outstanding work!
Thank you mate!!
I think this will be your best build yet! Helms Deep has been one of my favorite middle earth locations.
Love it. Don't ever change Lachie "The trick here is to make sure I don't over grout it and lose too much recess detail.......which is basically exactly what I did" 🤣🤣. And here's a suggestion for another build, how about a 1/2 scale size Mnt Caradhras :)
Hahaha that would be prettttttty big!!!
Oh heck yeah, with the intirety of dwarrowdelf in miniature style as interpreted by the books maybe.
It’s really cool how far 3d printing has come so that Helms Deep can be made like this for MESBG. Hoping this project isn’t as such an intensive behemoth for you Lachie as the palace on terra build! Because its looking amazing so far
This guys will be done by Chrissy :) Yeah it's crazy how far it has come!!
The pieces need some convincing hahahahaha
Absolute genius!
Remembers me of the, now retired, Bard's craft channel: "When you need to fix something, you resort to the obvious answer... Violence!"
Excellent video Z!!
hahahahaha thank you mate!
Just love watching this build and remembering the first time I saw it in the cinema and I’m grinning from ear to ear 😀
This looks so great so I am tempted to quote Adam Savage from the Mythbusters. "If it isn't worth overdoing, It's not worth doing. Your builds are getting more and more impressive for each new location.
Aww thank you Per Reyals!! That means a lot from you, you've been here a long time hahaha
Excellent stuff! Well done, this is coming along really nicely!
Ounce again the horn of the Zorp-Berg shall sound!!!
Keep on building this god damn wonder Lachie!! Hype increasing week after week!!

Ah me toooooo Sahidko!! So excited to play on it, also STRAP IN haha this weeks video is mental! Thank you for the super mate
Looking good! Two towers was the first lotr movie I ever saw so helmsdeep holds a pretty special place in my heart as the first ever massive set piece from the movies.
It looks soooo good. You do so much in just so little time. I am so excited to see more!!!
This is exactly the kinda thing I dreamed of doing as a kid. Just amazing stuff!

Can't believe I predicted the rotary tool! Glad you were able to put it to good use :)
Indeed hahaha
To me the most impressive part of this build is how you combine massive 3D printing with regular crafting, this is very inspiring!
Wow ,wow, wow Helms Deep look,s amazing , thx for resumen of work 👌👌👌👌
I'm loving this Middle-Earth build journy. Well done for continuing to tweak your content and editing to find the right youtube formula. Keep going Lachie!

What an amazing piece of middle earth art you never cease to amaze me Zorp with what you create and bring to this community.
I really hope you'll put a speaker in to sound the Horn of Helm Hammerhand.
Definitely should
Given how popular 3D printing has become for wargaming terrain, I love that the crafting focus is shifting to ways to refine and integrate printed elements to make our battlefields look all the more extraordinary!
Dude! This is amazing. Cant wait to see the massive battles that this fortress will experience.
Going to be wildddd aye haha

"We all know King Theoden loves a good Rave" 😂 made my day. Dude, once again insanely cool 🙌
This really is the greatest board in all of tabletop history. Man Helms Deep is just perfect for this. It's obviously massive but it's all there. Nothing left to imagine behind the edges of the board. Beautiful, great work!!
And damn those walls are so f*cking high😱
Can't wait to see the next Episode!
Love what you are doing here man. Incredible !!!
And I never realised there was stonework repairs done on Helm's Deep before. And I have seen the movies so many times I can't count.
Such great content. Great seeing so much progress in such a small number of videos!! Awesome work!
Once you are done with each section of the map you should host some kind of tournament or event and have people do wargaming on them, will probably build a lot of hype
The dream!!
My goodness, it's really coming together!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who got into wargaming because of Helm's Deep!

thanks mate! oooooh it will definitely be hundred of Uruks haha
Epic work as usual, I love seeing this come together.
Thanks a bunch mate! Glad you're enjoying it
I’m so insanely jealous of this entire project lol. My dream is to play a helm’s deep battle with an actual fortress
This is a dream for my 10 year younger self. Having use the GW castle kit and my imagination back then does not compare to the beauty of what you have in front of you.
And while I don't really play LOTR SBG anymore, this is still massively cool.
That's peak Zorpazorp right here guys! Great job man!

Big, bigger, ZORPAZORP 😯 so much work and such an amazing result!

You should do what those big Lego builders do and open a museum for all these builds
Thank would be the dream, one day.

Haha thank you mate! I hope he would :)
you've put so much effort in this build and it's paying off!
These videos are always absolutely incredible! I love that we're seeing more Lord of the rings content!

Back to Zorp! Can't wait for the battle reports!
Me tooooooooooooooo
Looking forward to seeing the rest of this build!
Can't believe you even have the cobblestone repair I've never noticed before!
I'm not suuuper with that, think I'll re do it again haha
It would be cool to 3D print a mass formation line of Uruk Hai in the backdrop to create the illusion of a massive siege, while the player sets his models in front to represent the charging units going up the ladders.
That is unreal. Can't wait to see the finished version!!
I love the hall so much - my favourite part yet!
