Much like Siri, I feel like anything involving AI at Apple is falling behind. Let's hope they announce some major changes at this year's WWDC.

i think the issue with apple is that to get good AI it involves using personal data. so the only solution for them is to slowly design a chip to do it on device so they can keep the "private first" image,

I feel like Apple is still in the process of designing AI that can be primarily used in Siri but will integrate it seamlessly with other apps like Apple Music.
Apple Music is frustrating but until Spotify offers HiFi or Dolby Atmos support I’m not switching back. I miss things like Discover Weekly but the fact that Apple just added Atmos support for Sonos systems for free means I’m not going anywhere. Great value.
I have audiophile headphones and a portable DAC. Apple Music is the only service that makes proper use of them.

I love me some lossless music but the number of people who don't care and don't even know what it is are too many for Spotify to make that a priority on there feature list.
Agreed, the sound quality is better than on Spotify. But, but, why is music seamless if I use Apple Music on my Android device, but not on ios! You'd think they could easily rectify this.
I always thought Apple and YT compressed songs sounded very similar. It’s Spotify that sounds like every song is mastered by an intern.
I cannot agree with you more!!! Absolutely. It’s terrible!! I’ve switched to UA-cam Music for several months now, and in all honesty I can’t stop listening to it. The recommendations are really near perfect!! Unlike any streaming service out there. I rarely ever press skip or unlike a song. Love UA-cam Music. Sad about Apple considering their love for music. It has fallen by its wayside.

I 100% agree to this. Apple Music audio quality is so good but the AI is so bad. Dream music app would be Spotify and UA-cam’s AI + Apple Music Lossless.
Could you make a tour video of AP Classical like you’ve done with Music? I found the later incredibly useful when switching over and I want to get into classical too

It needs Android TV app, Tablet support, Web app for Windows and Chrome OS. Also Wear OS app. Spotify and UA-cam Music support all platforms. Apple spoiled fanboys are complaining if a Google or Nvidia service don't support their platform but Apple does minimum support.

But Apple runs on exclusivity, not being cross platform. That's what their business plan has been.
For 10 years Apple intensionally and illegally had slow down their iOS devices through correlation of battery cycles and CPU speed. Essentially secretly Apple slow down users devices when people used them. A planned obsolescence. So change your battery to get back your lost CPU performance.
A web app for Windows is on the top of my wish list as I use a fair amount of Apple products but not the Mac

This is very true, I feel the same.
The only thing that's holding me in terms of using Apple Music instead of Spotify (even though I just recently switched to an Android device) is that where I live, Apple Music is the only music streaming service that allows family plan (Spotify does not have that here), and I because I am the one that registers for both me and my wife, and the price of 2 accounts add up (compared to Apple's family plan), that just sealed the deal for me.
That being said, Apple Music's AI sucks.
Ok I felt like I was the only one. I have been using it for years and I really do not understand why it can't seem to really figure out my likes. I really keep wanting to like Apple Music simply because it comes included in my apple one account but honestly... I find myself gravitating back to UA-cam music more than I ever thought I would. They have been updating that app a lot as of late and honestly...it really shows. Most people won't give UA-cam music a try but honestly... I find it to be better than Apple Music and Spotify on figuring out what I like and giving me options on what mood I might be in.
try tidal hifi, and disable Dolby Atmos because it does ruin the listing experience

Apple Music's quality, app performance and library are the best in my opinion but are not for me or people of my age group (25+). but maybe for teenagers or college students, it is useful. but Apple doesn't do anything to attract them
I don't necessarily like to dislike songs as much as I like to like songs. Some songs I don't outright dislike like Madonna or Taylor Swift. I can tolerate them but I don't love them. Rap music is something I will dislike. I use likes more because when I like a song it means I am truly in love with the song and want to hear it more often.
I wish occasionally Apple Music would serve you different types of music it thinks you might like and ask you via a popup to like or dislike.

100 percent agreed! I can't stand their "shuffle" in Library. So tired of listening to the same 20 songs (in a Library of almost 10k songs!!!)
I feel the opposite. I tried all the services and Apple seems to know music the best. They are the only ones when I play early progressive Genesis that plays other progressive music from that area. The rest play 80's pop.
When a playlist is over the recommendations will be nothing like what your playlist was. And that is true if you are listing to artist-specific playlists. Once the playlist ends the first song that is recommended will probably not be by the same artist. It's these little things that need to be fixed not that we need AI to take over and generate better playlists and recommendations.
I played the same song and my auto play recommendations were all soundtracks. 🤷

They need to update the Apple Music design on iPhone. I was considering switching from Spotify to Apple Music as the Apple One subscription looked enticing. But man, the design is fucking lame. Even going to the playlist is an annoying experience where there’s no grid view or no pinning playlists. And you have 3 tabs at the bottom being there to clutter everything up where Spotify has some of those functions within a single tab, making it easier to find things while having a clean interface. Such a shame.
Without any proof, I'm of the opinion that Apple's AI recommendations are purely based on artist promotion deals where money changes hands; and, Apple cloaks this in the proclamation that they (Apple) are 'taste makers'.
Heck, remember when Rihanna was the only artist to play during super bowl? Haha
And all that you mentioned is not so bad, because you listen to mostly pop. If you like something different - be ready for a real nightmare!)) Can't even imagine why AM can't fix their child's pain points: genres and recommendations.

Yeah... Apple Music's algorithm is subpar
I think since this video, Apple Music got slightly better. But still, Spotify and Apple music is so good at recommendations. I hope they will improve this with their new AI technologies, but can't count on promisses.

Why don't you make a review of Deezer? For me Deezer makes better job regarding song discovery than You Tube Music.

under new releases apple music shows me all new releases. spotify and youtube music show me releases that they think i would like - which i do not. no streaming service gets my music taste. thank god apple music is dumb and just shows me everything.
