Trust me, it's actually not that great in real use. Varjo XR3 did a great job showing the world that XR workflow is a gimmick.
Lol 7 months later apple anounces theirs and everyone pretends this don't exist and apple is the first to do it. Typical apple fanboys.
It’s crazy that this 30 second video was better way of showing off the new headset then what they did the other day.
Glad you're finally reviewing something related to VR!
It's so stable!!!
It's not though, look at the wobble.
@@evolicious stopped capping
@@evolicious I did manage to try it at Best Buy it’s very stable to me I couldn’t break it or detect any wobble. How did you manage to get it to wobble? I was shaking my head violently to mess it up but the holograms didn’t move.
@@whoowhaaat5666 he's only bashing the product because it was made by Meta. Don't listen to him lol
@@thatsmyjam8403 yea I later figured, I saw him spamming other comments
meta is scary ngl
This works just as well on the quest 3 now. It's pretty dang cool.
Isn't it like Horizon workrooms
Why wasn't THIS shown at their showcase?!
Because it doesn't represent the use-case experience. You won't be able to read text on this device, unless you like getting a headache in 10min. Quest Pro is built as a communication tool for in the metaverse between offices and clients.
It's literally built to be a live zoom meeting device, but for facebook.
Like most tech things, MKBHD is using it wrong and giving people a different impression of what the device is actually viable for.
It's best to get a review video form someone that actually understands tech, rather than someone that is paid to read the brochure.
@@evolicious im literally reading this on my quest 1 right now, dude.
@@BrockCheddar i have a quest 2 and can use my desktop computer and write code on it. Its clear a lot of people bashing it never used one
hows that app called
How is it
This will make working while traveling so much better! Can easily spin up new displays whether you're in a hotel room, house, coffee shop, or whatever.
I once tried Microsoft holo lens, It was somewhat similar to this. The difference being you can control your computer with gestures
Works the same on this device. In fact, quest pro was made in partnership with microsoft.
This is tecnically AR and yes its already very useful in apps like Google maps. With this hardware the possibilities for developement are huge. I hope one day we can have this in glasses-like form factor.
This is XR, not AR.
Also, XR workflow has been around for years with the hololense1/2, varjo XR3, vive pro eye, and more.
It's a gimmick no one likes. Meta is out of touch and trying to create a BS device that will jumpstart their order fulfillments of eye and facial tracking metadata to advertisers and the like.
We’ve been stayed tuned. Waiting😢 So far couldn’t find no good reviews of this device. We need you for this review
Imaging video editing on this? 😭
When is the video coming out?:/
I love the future! we are at a real turning point with so many technical inovations
Thank you for posting this. I've been talking about this for a long while now. It's been super hard to explain via words. This is soooooooooo much better.
Can't wait to see the longform video.
Same bro...
this is what i want!
damnnnnn 🔥
Ayo hoezaay 😳
Damnn when are you continuing MCBCMKBHD or something like that
Ridiculously cool.
this one shot sold me on quest pro. i plan to use it as a monitor replacement. looks incredible.
This is not a monitor replacement, the clarity isnt good enough to actually read text for a more than a few minutes at a time.
Love how he shills the Apple vision when this is the same thing, but even better due to controller support 😂
Exactly bro
AVP has controller support
@jamesgarrett7844 Not talking about the same kind of controller... I mean, tracked VR controllers, not a console one.
Better? You haven't used any oh these.. .
@@marcrodet4900 First of all, "any of these", second I own a HTC vive so know how VR started, and the Quest 3 so know where it is at. While you are correct that I haven't used the vision pro (just like you or anybody who isn't a youtuber) I know that only the display and pass through cameras being better (still not perfect) will not change my viewpoint in calling the vision pro overpriced garbage. It's still not lifelike if it was I would say the price is justified. There are way better PC VRs for that price and you can buy haptic feedback and full body tracking with that.
Yoo I’m early and it looks Fire! ❤😂
That last Sheesh got me 😭
I can't wait for this full video!!
Dang!!! that seems useful tbh!
It's not, even meta employees refuse to use it becasue of how bad it is.
It's cheaper than the Vision Pro
And it comes with controllers
And it works on SteamVR
And it has games on the headset
I think an iconic feature of the Vision Pro is that it DOESN’T have controllers.
@@user-fg1nt9vi7c Being a feature doesn't justify the price
Assuming that's what you mean by that
I keep having people justify its existence and price by its massive issues being "features"
@@officiallyanthony I’m not justifying the price. It’s a first gen product. Buy it or don’t, there’s nothing on the market like it. I’m just saying it not coming with controllers isn’t an argument for it being a bad product.
@@user-fg1nt9vi7c if the Vision Pro is successful it will drive other VR companies to do the same, the Quest 4 might not have controllers in the box, might be impossible to self repair, might go up massively in price, might try to lock you into the Meta eco system
All because they saw that people still bought a massively overpriced headset that did those things
It happened to phones, it's very possible it'll happen to VR too
And there is plenty on the market like it, the Quest 3 does everything it does except eye tracking, the Vision Pro however doesn't do half the things the Quest 3 does and it's immensely more expensive
Holy shit, this is the coolest thing I've seen in years.
I can't comprehend the idea what the future looks like in the future. Glad to be born this era
I feel like we’re about 10 years away from being a completely cross-eyed civilization.
That's not how VR works. Your eyes work exactly how they work irl, in the HMD. There is light bending depth being used to simulate the virtual world.
Is the future basically here??? I can’t wait!!
This new headset seems like a real game-changer
This is for business and prosumer tho.
The general consumer version Quest 3 is expected to appear next year.
The future is something that is always coming but never arrives
@@514musique Yes to a man in the 90s a smartphone is his future. So yea the future is not a place or destination it’s always coming.
It's great but I wish we had lightweight glasses instead of the heavy VR headset. Who will be first to release it?
This is the first I’m seeing this tech. It’s really impressive. I just wish the goggle was more of a glasses
Is the resolution good enough to actually read anything on those screens yet?
I would say yes, definitely. I'm using this on my Quest 2 already, and for me it's perfectly fine. And the Quest Pro seems to have slightly better display clarity.
No
@@NeoFighter91 boi, don't lie to people. Even the Varjo with the highest clarity displays in a HMD money can buy are still not good enough for reading at long periods of time.
@EVOLICIOUS That's not what I said. All I'm saying is, that for me, the resolution is good enough to read stuff relatively fine on those screens. I didn't say, that I would do this all day.
@@NeoFighter91 But the whole point of this device is to be sitting down and reading/working all day. So yea, thanks for supporting the point I'm making.
FYI, Quest Pro is reported to have worse overall clarity, but better edge-to-edge clarity (due to pancake lens).
Go watch the Tested review from Norm, he has the best review of it so far.
when this tech gets into regular glasses we will live in a digital world for real holy crap.
Dude that’s what I’m thinking. Instead of a whole headset gimme a pair of like google glass and I’m sold.
Where would the computer be then?
Glasses for this tech is far, far away. Nreal is the closest we have and you need to be tethered to your phone or computer to use it.
@@trevorallen7554 Apple is aiming for that, and NReal already released theirs.
The problem is there is still no actual viable use for AR other than automotive HUD and some cool 3d models to show clients.
It's a gimmick for now and the market might take another 10 years to adopt it better. Still need mobile processing power for AR to get better, as well as micro-displays and battery technology.
AR and XR have a very, very long way to go.
The trackpad wobbling at the end lol
The future of working from home, take my money 💰
Want to see a comparison with the Apple VP.
Apple VP only has 1 monitor max...
@@gilly9209 Yes, but the monitor is the size of a mountain range so it blows your mind.
Tony Stark: How does fury see all of these
He turns
Would be great to add every crew a wagging tail
it's been almost 10 day. when full video come out~~
Why did say my name at the end?
He wants you to work for him apply for a job now
Even in quest 2, sometimes you still get the wobbly, this look very clear very smooth. I actually said Woah out loud. Could potentially due to me watching this on my phone but this is impressive.
I can’t wait till passthrough gets colour. Imagine playing AR games - slaying dragons or slicing elusive red and blue blocks in your own living room!
first
This is fascinating. Kinda reminds me of the touchscreen laptop craze from some years ago, initially i didn't see the point of it but once i had the chance to use it as a daily driver (corporate lenovo t480 with touch) there was no way back to caveman laptop displays. I think experiencing this productivity beast would feel very similar.
I'm supprised you haven't made a clip on the nreal air AR glasses, they are the best according to some reviews, we hope to see a review from u.
Yes, full video would be amazing 🙂
Apple Vision Pro comparison??? Never seen this before, thought it was just a Vision Pro thing.
“Say what you want about the whole VISION”
hmmmmmmm
Thanks to Apple make Quest more visible 😊
Props to Meta!!
It’s pretty damn neat not gonna lie.
This "Technically" isn't VR. It's AR.
Finally someone made a close up of the pass through
