I have a 30 gal tank and I'm looking to go filterless due to filter noise. I currently have 3 plants that are planted in an inch of pea size gravel. What else will I need to do to remove the filter?
I never tired of watching you talk through a build from the beginning to the end giving your little tips. You do a great job. Keep up the good work and keep producing your videos.
I wish we had them in Canada too! They would do massively well because the kits sold here like fluval and marineland are ok-ish but the quality of SuperFish looks so much better.
For me, this video did exactly what you wanted: making me inspired and started thinking "Oh I can do this! I have to give it a try!". Next weekend I'm getting my new 200L aquarium, that's going to be my "luxury aquarium". A brand new optiwhite (my others are normal, small second hand ones) and of course I want this new one to be as close to perfect as possible. I will definitely take a look at how to make a substrate like the one in this video. The ones worked best for me until now have been aquasoil in bags covered with fine gravel. I'm super excited for my new aquarium and I'm so happy for all the inspiration I'll get from this channel!
These kinds of builds do make starting your own aquarium seem possible :D I actually went to my local fish store *today* and got a small group of pygmy cories and red crystal shrimp for my first ever fish tank/aquascape :)
Have just bought this tank (without fancy lights) and am really enjoying the process of building my own ecosystem. Many thanks for the inspiration! Somerset UK
Yes. It is not the size thats matters, it is the joy working with the aquarium, and scaping. I Got a 140 Liter today, and it means Moore to me, then my Old 450 Liter Malawi cichlide aquarium. I love to sit, and se all the details and relax. /from Denmark
MD all the fish tanks are looking awesome brother keep up the great work. Seems like everything you get your hands into you make it look great see you on the next one
I've been watching your videos for a few days now and I love when you talk about the plants that you use you explain why you want to use them and how you will set them up. I also like when you show them already growing in other tanks like you did with the one that will grow without much light.
Thank you for all the inspiration! Your videos on fish, aquarium setups, and educational content have been incredibly helpful-and, I mean, you’re not just talented; you’re also pretty easy on the eyes! Keep up the amazing work!
That is a beautiful nano tank. Everyone has a favorite species of cory, those who say they don't, simply haven't decided yet. Personally, I absolutely adore the peppered cory. Corydoras paleatus.
Brilliant video as always. I set up a 23 litre tank myself. Neon tetras and cherry shrimps in it. Decent amount of plants but can do with more stems in the background. Aren’t as easily accessible in Dublin. I concur with the comments above. It’s the joy of watching your ecosystem take shape more than anything else. It will be great to see a cold water tank setup. I came across a tiny fish the other day which lives in cold water only.
I do love these starter kits even though I'm what you might call a bit of a veteran in fishkeeping; they're just so handy, and nowadays they are so complete and of really good quality. Still not a fan of the 'topless' aquariums, but this one is looking really really good, you once again did a fantastic job!
I mixed crushed lava rock with pond soil. Layer of aquasoil and capped with sand. It grows absolutely insane a year later. I don’t even run a filter anymore.
