- In this Finnish lesson we will master the words: tuolla, tuolta, tuonne and siellä, sieltä, sinne! 🤗

- Tuolla (Tuol) = Over there (static location near the speaker, close enough to see or gesture at)
- Tuolta (Tuolt) = From over there
- Tuonne (Tonne) = To over there
- Siellä (Siel) = There (usually a place that isn't in sight)

I just realized that täällä etc, tuolla etc , siellä etc come from the words tämä tuo se, and they have the same meaning differences but for locations

What amazes me is how seldom the basics like this are covered or God forbid, explained. Great past few videos on essential mechanics.
For finnish people this is super easy, when they grow up knowing all these basics before the age of six like.

Kielikellokin on asian huomioinut. Itse kyllä muistan "Setälän kieliopista" että se olisi ollut kaukoputki, mutta se ei lieene oleellista, vaan samojen sanojen eri merkitys eri yhteyksissä. @@KatChatsFinnish

Hei, voisitko tehdä video joistain lyhyistä fraaseista, jotka käytetään usein puhuessa. Huomaan paljon sellaisia kun kuuntelen kun suomalaiset juttelee, mutta en ikinä pysty tajuta niitä täysin. Olisi kiva kuulla esimerkkejä, tarkoitan: Älä nyt, sepä se, mitäs tässä, älä jaksa, siinä ja siinä tämäntyyppisiä;))

One little difficulty is that "tuolla" can be both an adverb (as in the video!) and a demonstrative pronoun in kirjakieli... They look the same. But in puhekieli the adverb is "tuolla" (or "tuol") while the demonstrative pronoun is "tolla" (or "tol"). Just wanted to mention.

I attended a Finnish course where the teacher was trying to teach us, new students who knew nothing about Finnish, he was trying to teach us Finnish in Finnish !!!
This is the stupidest idea ever ! I do not care who came up with it, it is absurd, or more frankly, outright stupid !
Enforcing this way of teaching must stop. It makes learning Finnish a very bad experience and much more difficult than it should be. And as you might have guessed, I eventually quitted the course out of misery and anger.
Oh no, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience during your Finnish course. Hopefully you're at least able to pick up a few things from my videos. Good luck!! :)
