California cops love making their chases a movie of the week. Arkansas ends their chases in about a block and a half. While that is excessive, you'd think Cali could be somewhere in between. Other states get the vehicle stopped and get the bad guys out of the car single handedly in many cases. California, "Calling every cop in the state,we need a thousand man stand off for four hours "
That's because this ass backwards state protects criminals and vilify victims and police. The liberals here will say the cops should have stopped pursuit and will sue the responding departments for this pursuit.
I’ve been saying, if this was in the South, they’d have made this a chase so much shorter. They could’ve blocked him in soooo many times. While he was stopped in the neighborhood, park two cars at the end of the street. Maybe don’t stop traffic so they can make another turn? This is insanity!
It's partially due to southern California having so many freeways and highspeed roads that interconnect. You can't shut them down like in most cities or metros, or at least not quickly and effectively. There's too many alternate routes, so they just have to run them down 😢
They’re scared of ghost guns because they are untraceable and unregulated. You don’t go to the store to buy those and anyone that wants one is probably up to no good

So sad how Cali cops have had their balls clipped. Should've been over way earlier but instead they have to let him drive endlessly through residential/pedestrian areas putting way more people in danger. Idiotic and backwards.
What a joke. Having been a Traffic Patrol Officer for a number of years as an Advance Driver with the London Met Police. They should be putting the suspect under pressure not allowing him to dictate the process. The object is to stop a pursuit ASAP. In the UK we have a procedure that the lead driver is the one to take the decisions. We have a procedure called TPAC (Tactical Pursuit And Containment) using 3 vehicles, One in front, one on the off-side and one in the rear boxing the vehicle in and then reducing speed until the suspect vehicle is brought to a stop. Always we try to put our vehicle nearside wing against the driver door stopping the driver getting out of the vehicle.
If they believe the suspect is armed, that scenario is less likely. I just watched another chase where the driver kept shooting at police in a high-speed chase. This would be an easier shot... I agree that played a huge role in their decisions.
We understand that the Met have no qualms about putting others on the road at risk for their next news channel dopamine hit, but we do things differently here.
