Thank you! I found a flexible bottle brush that did the job. To those who exclaimed OXO should include one of those, I could not agree more.

OXO should include a small brush (like a thin straw brush) to help clean out this area. Also mention to turn the grind setting to the highest setting which appears to also "open" that shoot to make it slightly easier to clean. Also use compresses gas (canned air) to clean the shoot at the end.

Canned air sounds like a great idea. Next time this happens, I'll do that - but outside away from the doorway.

I have had mine for about six months and it is now a doorstop because it just jams in the shoot immediately (despite the repeated efforts to clean out the shoot), Thanks for the tip on how to get into the extended portion of the shoot. I will give it try and see it works. You would think that oxo would tell people about this problem but it is silent apparently because its clearly a design flaw with the shoot.

I used a different flexible tool to get past the curve in the shoot, and it worked!! Problem solved. Thank you.

Thank you for posting this! We had initially tried this but hadn’t used a tool as long as the zip tie. That was the trick!

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. I watched your video before buying mine and guess what I am back. Let me tell you that since I got this Oxo coffee grinder it has blocked twice inside the chute about every month. And I only got this grinder for almost 3 months. And it is exactly how you explained it. Also, I am using dark roast coffee so I guess it is more oily and also set my grind to fine to # 3 setting. I find that to be very annoying since it has happened frequently for a new purchase (within almost 3 months). I really like everything about this grinder except for the clogging in the chute.
I will contact Amazon since I am still on the free 90-day coverage for troubleshooting. I don't know it yet, but I may buy a Baratza Encore if they cannot replace it. My friend bought he's a week after I purchased mine and it hasn't got this problem yet (at least). Will see! 🤔
Note: Just if you didn't already know, the coffee experts say that we should clean the grinder every month or two (depending on the usage) with a grinder cleaner like Urnex Grindz Professional Coffee Grinder Cleaning Tablets ( there are other companies also).

Folks... I got mine 3 years ago. The instructions say to clean out that little chute each time you grind. It would be nice if they included a little brush to do that with but they don't. But I simply use the little bottle brush/ drinking straw cleaning brush and it works perfectly.

You are supposed to clean that shoe out after every time you grind coffee. You just use a little brush like a straw cleaning brush or something like that put it in there wiggle it to the coffee comes out it only takes a few seconds.

thanks for the video, mine clogs every 3/4 pounds. i use dark roast and they have more oils. running hot water works but that's a no no. lmao.

Oh man, that's pretty bad! Luckily I like medium roast the best so I get a couple years between clogs :)

Mine clogs several times every time I run it. I normally do medium roast but accidentally got an oily medium this time and I can’t get it to grind at all. I was hoping this video would show something beyond what I normally do to unclog it.
