Got to say I literally reinstalled and was hooked again last night after this showed up in my recommended. There is something about this game that brings me back to it. I don't understand why you would ever want this game remade however. Ubisoft's track record with new games is absolutely horrendous.
Literally just played it for 8hrs earlier today. Amazing atmosphere. Was playing it on Xbox 360 tho (lol) but I wish I had it on PC to get a mod to get rid of the malaria mechanic. Really was the only thing holding it back imo. Everything else was fine for the sake of making you feel like you were living in Africa.
I don't think I really ever minded the malaria mechanic. It only progresses as you continue with the main missions so I never really felt too pressured by it. It's just a weird mechanic.
@@mokewed6648 it’s changes the gameplay to way better textures and overall gameplay. You can save the game anytime, longer sprint like far cry 3 and more fluid controls and combat. It makes the game feel like it dropped yesterday basically. Patched 2.0 is the name I believe
Far Cry 2 is a game I have tried several times to get into. I just tend to bounce off of it a fourth of the way through. I'm not sure why, it's not like I'm a stranger to jank, dated design or misery. I'll just save, swear I'll pick up tomorrow, then never come back.
@@mokewed6648 true words. I really wonder why so many people cry for remakes. More often than not remakes fail to match the original's quality. Ppl should just replay these old classical games. Honetsly, old games is pretty much all I play these days -new releases just suck most of the time.
Its crazy how much hate this game gets, people moan about lack of fast travel! (Even though buses more realistic) moan about degrading weapons, which doesn't happen with your owned upgraded ones. Malaria, just take pills!? I love this game so much, wish was remastered (PlayStation player)
Still don't understand why this game is considered classic - boring, ugly and story was a let down. Glorified Tech demo that goes stale after 2h mark. Hate Ubisoft all you want (i don't like them either), but this is really the worst Far Cry game (apart from WII ports), apart from physics.

Idk if your running the far cry 2 patched mod but I HIGHLY recommend it makes the game way better and modern

I mean fair anough. It's not for everyone, but I personally liked it a lot. Sure, it's not perfect but some things it did better than other games.
