    Did a full service on our A180d at the weekend and this video was much appreciated.
    I used a drill bit to lock the cam and used paint marker on the crank.
    I pulled the arch liner to get to the holes to do the engine mount.
    I also pulled the pipe off the radiator to drain the coolant as I replaced that at the same time.

    Just did this job today. Great video you walked me through the job. Only thing I would add is that the 2 horizontal bolts on the mount can easily be accessed by removing the plastic arch liner. Merc put access holes and everything!
    And for anyone reading this without air or powerful impact tools, the starter removal and locking tool is a doddle.
    Cheers

    I like your video and the way you work. (I don;t say that very often) One thing, You mentioned about bleeding the coolant system. You said to put the heater on full heat and full speed. Full heat and no speed would surely be better as the vehicle would warm up faster which would then open the thermostat which is the aim. Its been long time since I did my apprentice and things have changed so maybe their is a reason for full heat AND full speed instead of just full heat?

      @diydaly  5 місяців тому +3

      Thanks 👍👍 tbh it’s just a routine that I’ve always done and been taught

    • @lewisbsalford
      @lewisbsalford 3 місяці тому

      The reason you put the blower on full is so you can easily feel the heater getting hot through the vents so you know its circulating the coolant round and theres no trapped air. If it was a case of wanting to just get it hot as quickly as possible it'd be better to put the heater onto the cold setting so there's minimal heat lost into the cabin. Which once you're happy that everything is circulating and has been bled up properly you could do that so that the engine warms up faster so you can check the cooling fan comes on as it should. Which I've done quite a few times just for peace of mind.

      Thanks Tony , your comment is much appreciated !👍👍 .. Yeah that video will be the same for your fiesta .. there not bad to do really, the floating pulley always seems bit daunting but with the timing pins its not bad really, bit easy if you have a buzz gun.. just double check everything really , once the belts on, check everythings in line & the cranks definitely resting on the pin and you shouldn't have any issues 👌

      Gretings, I have same car W176 OM607 1.5 diesel with 7DCT, car is made in 10/2016, I buy it at 61.500Km. I was at the dealer to check it, everything was ok, no issues, like new. Now I have 90.228Km, almos 29.000Km in 2,5 years. I take it to service for oil change (OE MB oil) and MANN filters MANN at every 10.000-11.000 km maximum, next maintenance will be in 186 days (third oil and filters change), since I have it. I wanna ask you if should I tell to the mechanic to take a look at the thooted belt? Because some guy from MB send me this maintenance intervals: OM 607/OM 651
      For diesel engines OM 651 and OM 607 the service interval for the additional maintenance operations "Replace coolant" is now also "Every 200,000 km/ 10 years".
      For the new additional maintenance operation "Replace toothed belt" on the OM 607 a service interval of "200,000 km/10 years" applies across Europe, while "100,000 km/5 years" applies for all other countries.
      Use of 7-speed automatic dual clutch trans- mission
      The introduction of the dual clutch, 7-speed auto- matic transmission into the A-Class means that the oil and filter changing intervals have changed from every 60,000 km (previously) to every 100,000 km/ 5 years (new).
