    Yes! This is exactly how my sweet hairdresser of 20 years cut my hair. It was always perfect for my hair type which is curly I could wear straight curly or a combination of both with this perfect haircut. I moved to a different state and I have spent the last FOUR YEARS trying to find a hairstylist who knows what round layered haircut is!
    Is this known by any other name?
    I’ve also described it as a round layers vertical cut and a 90° angle cut thinking that would help but still no one knows what I’m talking about.

    Why n when do we use pivot sections? Can i use it for triangular n square layers too?

    • @HairByJamesAnnabel
      @HairByJamesAnnabel  3 роки тому

      Hey Akash, thanks for your question. There is multiple ways to achieve the same haircut result reguarding the sections we take. Taking pivotal sections work for round layers as the direction is 90° straight out from the head shape as well as the cut line. With Triangular it also works because we can direct every new section back to the previous before cutting, which increases length (creating a triangular shape) and the cut line is'nt cut flat to the head. With square it doesnt work because the cut link the whole section (not individual section, like round) is cut flat square to the head.
      i hope that answers your question

    • @HairByJamesAnnabel
      @HairByJamesAnnabel  3 роки тому +1

      Your so welcome. With round layers the same amount of hair will be removed throughout the layer. If you want an inch off for example, you simply start your guide with taking an inch off and that becomes your guide.
      It your nervous about taking off to much length you can start your guide in the nape at the bottom so you can gage the exact amount.

    Hello James. First congratulations on your channel. I need to understand what is the triangular layered cut. I have difficulty understanding. • @HairByJamesAnnabel
      @HairByJamesAnnabel  Рік тому

      Thank you so much for your comment Monica, i really appreciate your support.
      Triangular layers create the opposite shape to round layers, they tend to be shorter in the back and longer in the front. Also the cutting angle doesn't follow the head shape like round layers. Triangular layers are amazing for cutting long layers. This tutorial teaches the differences, let me know what you think. ua-cam.com/video/e_59Q3tDloE/v-deo.html Don't ever hesitate to ask more questions

      It sure does. Every single section of hair is the same length (uniform layer / round layer).
      The reason it falls shorter and creates face framing, is because there is no more hair underneath the front hairline, like there is on the sides of the head and back of the head.

      Hey! taking smaller thin sections can help with finding your guide. Keep up your practice and watch tutorials over and over until all the mechanics sink in. There are alot of moving parts when cutting. Eventually it all becomes second nature

    How do you cut the round layers when the clients hair is longer?
    How to know the length of your shortest layer?

    • @HairByJamesAnnabel
      @HairByJamesAnnabel  11 місяців тому

      I dont usually cut round layers, i mainly combine them with other layering. As round layers can look quite ugly. This is a standard layering technique hairstylists must know. If you wanted to cut long round layers you would do exactly the same process.
      Placing your guide length can be done working from the front. take the section direct it over the face and decide the shortest length

      @@HairByJamesAnnabel I have to cut a client tomorrow who has curly long hair. I am a bit scared to be honest. I wanna keep the length, but also vut some shorter layers to make the curls pop without ending up with a long mat on the bottom. Amy video suggestions for some inspiration?

      Hey Shaina, I would love to see somebody try to attempt this haircut for them self. This haircut is hard for Hairstylists to cut successfully. This tutorial was created for hairdressers or for enthusiasts to cut their friends or families hair
