James, I've been behind the chair nearly 40 yrs now and I love watching seasoned hair stylists' do their thing. I follow many masters in their craft and you, sir, are really doing it for me. I love your simple approach to hair design. The way you explain your thought processes and your awesome finish work. Watching you has definitely upped my game and increased my desire to do great haircuts by working smarter, not harder. Keep up the good work and thanks a million for sharing your talents. Rock on!
I love your videos. I'm a hairdresser. It's been a few years since I've been working with hair and I'm always looking for professionals where I can always be updated with haircuts. I was about to say that is like triangular layers but i remembered from your other videos that triangular usually is longer Infront and shorter in the back. I love your videos i have got better in understanding a haircut when i see it, now i know better what to do !! Thanks 🙏
Hey Luigina, yeah concave is another word to describe triangular shapes. I’m so happy to hear my tutorials are helping you. Really appreciate your feedback ☺️
This is truly a great haircut and watching you cut has given me a lot to think about. I wish we had someone like you cutting in my small town. It is hard to get a good haircut here. That is why I am watching all of your videos and techniques to eventually try it myself. I can't do any worse than what I have walked out of a shop near me. Thanks for all of your demonstrations and please keep them coming. Could you do a pixie with a longer front?
You are so welcome! And thank you so much Norma Parks. Ive had a little break from youtube due to the pandemic. Hoping as of next week to be launching weekly videos.
Thank you James! I’m not a hairdresser and have been attempting to get this style by cutting my own hair and seeing hairdressers intermittently for a long time! I mess up because of difficulty angling and lack expertise. I have fine hair with great curl when it’s layered well. Otherwise flat, 😑. Can you show us how to do this or similar by ourselves? I just can’t find anyone who knows this technique. Thank you and loving your videos!!! 🙏💞✨💖
Hi James! First of all, your haircuts and way of teaching is amazing! I always struggle to find a stylist to cut my hair like this correctly, so I tried it myself following your tutorial. It turned out fairly well considering I struggled with the back of course as this was very difficult. Do you have any tips or suggestions on how to cut these layers in the back when doing it on yourself? I appreciate it :)
Hey Pippa, for being so awesome. Cutting your own haircut, way to go girl, thats really hard. I would split the back into two zones horizontally along or slightly above the occipital bone area. Id direct all the hair into the centre and tie two seperate pony tales. The idea is to direct all the air into the centre so when you cut it the length is longer in both sides and slightly shorter in the centre (concave shape). In the bottom section direct the hair back towards the wall behind you before cutting (or get a friend to cut it) Id also tie a seperate band wear you want to cut the length too. So you don't cut too much length off. In the top id do the same how ever id direct it straight up to the roof. make sure you dont go too short ( you can always go back and cut more off ). YOu may have better luck searching for a detailed tutorial. Hope this helps
@@HairByJamesAnnabel thank you so so much! I really appreciate your time and expertise that you so freely share! I will try all of these things. I am already extremely happy with this cut I was able to do with your guidance, simply amazing! Blessings to you and your family! ❤️

Hi Teacher ❤️ The square haircut if the people long hair is the same Length … what I am say ing isThe behind hair still long right it is ok ? Thank you 🙏😊
Hey Siew, yes you can cut the front with a square layer and leave the back longer. You can connect the front to the back at the crown area or choose to leave it disconnected.
Hey Jane, All three haircuts can be cut using square layers. These three haircuts are combinations of layering and forward graduation and over direction.
I recommend preparing the hair with mousse or texture spray whilst wet. Then finish with more texture spray or hair spray if you want more texture and body. If your client prefers less body and texture id finish with a light shine serum.
Hey Ramya, you need to take more time placing your guide before starting your opposite side. Cut your guide a little longer, check it and then remove a little until it's perfect. And when you continue to cut that side be aware of your body position, make sure it mirrors your first side. Also be aware of your elevation. It must mirror the opposite side. Let me know if these tips help
