So great to see the differences between these different cuts probably the only person hair artist on UA-cam to explain these differences. .. What more could people want. Superb as always !
Another fantastic video! Been to so many stylists and they do not listen. Took your video but they just do what they want and I always just get told "every stylist cuts differently" problem is I NEVER get what I want. Wish you were my stylist as I have previously said but UK a bit too far lol.
Thank you so much for your awesome comment. Sorry to hear you haven't found the right stylist for you yet. I'm studying in London for 8 weeks Next year.
James I'm going to take down notes and watch this over again. When in your career did you start to think and analyse hair in this mathematical way. . It truly is amazing. You are a hair genius.. never heard this kind of teaching in my life.
Your too kind Joan 😘. Taking notes is a great idea. I do this myself, it’s the best way of retaining information. I’d love to take credit for the style in how I present a haircut. This is how I was trained through my apprenticeship, and also how I was trained to teach. I’m so happy you value this approach
Thank you James your techniques and teachings are wonderful you are great at what you do 💜💜💜💜💜 I still want you to cut my hair!! Who knows maybe one day it could be possible
You are so welcome Wendy. Maybe sometime next year i will be able to cut your hair. I'm working in London in March for 2 months, travelling back to Australia and then moving to the US.
wow what an incredible comment, thanks for making my day. I am so happy to hear you like and value my work. I really appreciate your support. If you ever have questions don't hesitate to ask here or send me a DM on instagram. Keep up the awesome work Jody all your hard work will pay off, it always does. James
Truly the best breakdown of layers I’ve ever heard. This has helped immensely in finding a new hair dresser. I can go in confidently and ask for what I’m accustomed to and want. Thank you James!
Hy James i'd like to learn more content like this (square, triangular and round),can you create other example?thanks for this video i love your way to teach:not self-referential,getting straight to the point:BRAVO
Hey Paola Marconi, thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate your feedback. Watch these 3 in depth tutorials that are dedicated to the square layer ua-cam.com/video/n5kc95RZBM4/v-deo.html Triangular Layers ua-cam.com/video/dJnc5SMN_eI/v-deo.html and Round Layers ua-cam.com/video/MRjWglNSM6s/v-deo.html Let me know how you go
Glad it helped! And you're very welcome Belinda. And thank you so much for your feedback, i really appreciate it. Continue to invest your spare time here on youtube, you will learn so much faster than at TAFE. If you ever have questions or finding something hard, don't hesitate to comment here or send me a DM on instagram
Hey Caren, glad you like it. I will create concave and forward graduation tutorials in the future. The reason why I didn’t include them, is that they are both Triangular layered haircuts. I will create a seperate theory tutorial based on them ASAP. Thought I’d keep this tutorial as simple as possible for people who are new to hair or struggling to understand.
Came here to figure out what to ask for next time I get a haircut. Leaving here ready to shut down anybody who complains about haircuts costing too much lol
Hi James, thank you for this video,I am still a little ........about the triangle layering. You were saying the guide For triangle layering is stationary. I have watched your Video on triangle layering many many times didn't notice You are following a stationery guide.please help 🙄
Hey, great question. In this tutorial I show cases two different ways to approach the cutting distribution in each shape. If you watch it again you’ll notice one that has over direction at the back and one that has pivoting sections with a triangular cutting line, that connects into the side section where I over direct every section back to. Triangular shapes can differ a lot as your in control of rapid build up of weight or a slow build up of weight (meaning short to super long, or short to slightly longer). I hope that helped. Let me know if that made sense
A short one length haircut (bob), or a Pixie haircut. If you want layers Round. The most important thing is length. Shorter the haircut the thicker your hair will look

school. Thanks for being so awesome
You are so welcome!
don't take this the wrong way but your statement about learning more here than at cosmo school is rather frightening as a customer
@@cheery-hex his explanations are well explained. I’m in cosmetology school as well and it’s not explained this clearly and concisely

A short one length haircut (bob), or a Pixie haircut. If you want layers Round. The most important thing is length. Shorter the haircut the thicker your hair will look
Can you pls show us how to layer our own hair? I can’t find anyone who can cut good layers. Thanks much.
