I was watching a frame rate test on the last gen consoles and its crazy how they have a more stable 30fps compared to the series x, ive been playing it on the series x and i cant stand the fps drops both in fidelity and performance modes
I've been playing on Xbox One, its a pretty amazing experience, the only thing that made me frown a bit was the flight (seriously, what is wrong with the controls-) but the loading screens are not that long, and as long as you play the game knowing that you are playing a old gen version, you will be just fine.
Sometimes the skybox takes time to load, some mini door loadings can be a little annoying and one time I entered the bottany section of the castle and after the loading screen my student fell through the floor, I had to reload the game. Those are the only "problems" I had so far.
@@mikevanced1992 I've fallen through the floor on pc, sometimes when landing from the broom on the top of stairs or hills so not too bad. It's happened only like 3 times though
Ps5 to Ps4 wow other than load times and draw distance it looks great to me (sure you can see the difference in graphics but still no game crashing glitches or random bugs)
Great video. I was curious about how the last gen would handle the game. I enjoyed it alot on PS5. The last gen doesn't look as bad as a i feared it might. I'm glad it wasn't another Cyberpunk 2077 situation for PS4/Xbox One.
It's not even about framerate or resolution but the freaking load times. I played it on PC and I was shocked when I discovered that on last gen there are roughly 10 second load screens for going in and out of the castle while on current gen you just simiply open a door.
I have an Xbox one X and the game is amazing but the load times really can be irritating. Fast travel sometimes takes up to 2 minutes and everytime i try and open a door in hogwarts or hogsmead it takes a minute for it to load. So basically for every few hours you play your wasting 15-20 Minutes minimum of overall time either waiting for fast travel or waiting for doors to open. I can't imagine how it would be on the regular Xbox one.
@@kingjohn1011 yeah bro still happens on pc in certain parts of the map though not all just think it’s better to wait to walk through the door than to walk through the door and half the game hasn’t loaded
game looks good on my xbox one s. only loading times are long and going thru doors like entering shops takes a while. but the game experience makes it up for all that.
Have you guys tried installing the game on an external SSD hard drive? I read it cuts loading down by almost half and will make textures load in quicker.
@purplemoon it's easy, just connect an external SSD hard drive to your Xbox, follow the on-screen instructions to format said SSD hard drive for Xbox, and then in the settings go to System -> Storage Devices -> Change installation locations, and then under "Xbox One games" set the Selected drive to "External storage". From there install the game and you should be good to go ✔️
@@steezyboyallday7362 thnx for the tip i was planning to get extra storage. because i had to remove some games for hogwarts but does it has to be a ssd or will 2,5 Inch hdd also work?
Bought it yesterday on ps4 it was amazing experience just had lighting bug in further quests after u get revalio and go to mrs wesely my character skin becomes so bright as to tell everyone I'm the chosen one lol sadly due to my finals being next week I stopped playing till I finish.. gotta work hard ( being a hufflepuff) 😂❤
I have Hogwarts Legacy for both my PS5 and Xbox One and I can barely tell the difference between both versions. Only thing so far on Xbox is the doors loading to open.
I'm a bit surprised by the roofs in the last gen versions, only because we have many open world games on those systems. Then again, the game is pretty detailed. Anyways, awesome video! I was about to put this on my Xbox One X just to see how it was like (I play on the Xbox Series S)!
@grimreaper5864 That's what I meant. Last gen had really nice open world games, which is why it was odd they put roofs on the bridges in this game that covered the outside. I figure last gen could have handled it, just at a poor frame rate.
See here's the deal critics make the developers very anxious and the stress of everything else coupled with there being a better version of the console means they don't try as hard. They could've made both games identical to a T and run the same, but then there would be no incentive to buy the new console and waste 500$
i found it annoying as well. so i bought a cheap 250gb external ssd for only 30 euros and now loading screens are 50% quicker. and doors open now in less then a second most of the time.
Simply get a cheap 25 Euro 256GB SATA SSD and put in a 5 Euro USB3 Case, connect it with the XBox and install the Game on that. Then the Loading Times are dramatically shorter.
If by fine you mean broken and boring as hell, then yeah you hit the mark. This shit is so bad its unreal. "Run around a big castle and waiting for doors to open simulator" this is what people waited for? This game is made for brainless idiots who cant play games that require skill. Lmao
I play on Xbox One and the fact this game runs decently is some dark magic. The only "bad" parts of the port are load times, and worse character models. I feel if they downgrade the reflections/lighting a bit more it'd help maintain 30fps easier, and ease the load times in Hogwarts. (To anyone reading uncap your fps in the settings btw) I don't know how they're going to get this on Switch, but after seeing this port, I'm sure they'll do ok.
@@amandaphillips3944 Something you can do that'll help it, is by going into the games visual options. Once there you'll want to turn off Film Grain, and Motion Blur. Lastly, at the bottom of the list there's a setting on by default the caps the games framerate, you'll want to turn that off. All of that should help the game run a bit smoother.
I hope this doesn't come off as me being too stupid into dumb of a question I can't figure anywhere around them ever saying this and I've asked a few times I have a 4K Ultra high-definition 60 frames second a 60 frames a second for the graphics card in my Xbox why did they ever change or downgrade the Xbox One version of this game
So the Xbox One uses 10 year old hardware, because of this the Xbox One has to lock its frame rate and resolution. This is done because trying to run the game at a higher frame rate/resolution would actually slow the game down, because of how hard it'd push the Xbox. It's like if you had a horse that could run fast, but if you push the horse too hard, it'd get hurt. This all applies to the graphics too. The Xbox Series consoles don't run into this issue because of their newer hardware. Hope this helps explain it.
@@yol_n I know and it failed. As for trans character I don't think they liked it cause this character wasn't important or interesting. It seems that this character was added just to fill that check box.
