Just ordered the red and greens humantonik in bulk. I will be having half of serving from each due to budget constraints. Can't wait to have this to round out this variety of nutrients!
Thanks for the honest review. I was driven away from most other green powders because of hidden dosages making me skeptical, except this very one.

I’m looking into adding a green drink to my diet because I am 8 years post bariatric surgery and I find it very hard to get enough veggies into my diet just because my stomach fills up so fast with Whole Foods and I just can’t get as many servings as I would like 😢 do you think a drink like this can help count as a couple servings of veggies a day? I know powders don’t replace Whole Foods, but I really want to try and get more of these nutrients and I just don’t know that a multivitamin is going to give me the same benefits as something like this. What are your thoughts as someone who just physically can’t eat as much volume on a daily basis?

Just looked at the website and they don’t ship to Poland so I guess it doesn’t matter 😂😭 I know you also liked AG1 so I guess the question still stands with that brand?

Great question! Overall, the goal is to be eating as many fruits and vegetables as possible for those nutritional benefits. But a green drink like this CAN be a fantastic supplement if you can’t get in as many Whole Foods as you’d like. I think you’re on the right track: using it as a supplement to a diet rich in as many Whole Foods as you can tolerate. If used like that I think it’s a great idea because, especially with Human Tonik, all the ingredients are whole-food based, transparent, and cleanly sourced.
They actually did a whole article on this which is pretty helpful: supergreentonik.com/can-super-greens-replace-vegetables/
And I just saw your comment below! Yes I still liked AG1 and think it’s a great supplement if you can’t get Human Tonik! I enjoyed my time on it and think it’s a solid product 👍🏻

Thanks so much for the super fast reply! I’m an international teacher in Central Europe aka pretty low pay 😂 so if I am going to invest in something like this I really want to make sure it will have a big positive impact on my day to day. I might do that travel pack of AG1 like you suggested and just use them on work days to reduce cost a little bit. I appreciate your feedback and detailed reviews ❤️

I enjoyed your video content. I especially appreciate the fact that you balance supplementation against the importance of having [already] a solid baseline of nutrition. (And yes, these products ARE too expensive.)
For reasons spoken to pretty often these days, nutrition 'ain't what it used to be'. Less bang for our buck. Soil quality is depleted from overuse, as well as doctoring. Those things affect plant quality. Produce is compromised compared to what it used to be, at least here in the U.S. (Same for meats, of course, because animals eat the plants.) My point is, plant-based supplements cannot BUT be compromised accordingly, meaning that the only way to compensate for that is to up-adjust dosages. Meanwhile, literally no one knows what optimum dosages for ANY of the ingredients even is. It's largely guesswork. Trial and error. Anecdotal outcomes, just like yours. "I feel better," is not an adequate metric. We also feel better on drugs. We're using guesswork and sensory experience while aiming for long term benefits. At some point, common sense has to kick in. The 'middle' way, eschewing the extremes (much less fads), is the only sensible option.
Therefore ...where I mainly find fault, to put it that way, is in the decision to fully avoid meat and dairy consumption. I understand the several arguments, that is, to the extent that they rise from moral considerations. We do err, however, to ignore the fact that for tens and even hundreds of thousands of years probably, humans evolved AROUND meat consumption. Not solely, obviously, but also in not insignificant part. Our systems are adapted to it and, because of that, undoubtedly benefit from it in ways that plants alone cannot compensate for. Too, the science is in on this. Meats provide important molecules not found in plants, just as plants provide important molecules not found in meats.
To recommend an only plant-based diet is to contradict what it necessarily means to have a solid baseline of nutrition. If it can fit your budget though, supplementation is brilliant.

Thanks so much for watching and for your thoughtful content, I appreciate it!
I think you'll find we agree on more than we don't. I too don't like the extreme or fad diets, and don't consider a whole-food plant-based diet to be extreme in that it does allow for some animal consumption if desired and there is such a wide variety of food available, as opposed to diets that are super restrictive (e.g. raw vegan). So I totally get where you're coming from there.
I also understand your point about our omnivorous background. And yes, you're right. We did evolve with an omnivorous diet, although specifics vary widely based on region, culture, food available, etc. It's a fair point. In my last video I went in-depth into what a plant-based diet entails and talk about, if you are going to consume animal products as part of it (therefore eating 90-95% plant-based instead of 100%), what the healthiest versions are. So I think you'll find I'm not too dogmatic about it. I know 100% isn't for everyone.
All that being said, it's not true that we don't know what the optimal doses for certain vitamins, minerals, and nutrients are. Plenty of human-focused studies provide adequate recommendations to experience the health benefits of these nutrients. While experiences like mine are anecdotal (I don't have the time, resources, or qualifications to run my own hard-line study for a channel, although that'd be cool😆), it doesn't mean we don't have solid recommendations based in the latest data coming from the world of nutrition science.
In addition, people around the world experience well above adequate nutrition on plant-based diets, including the longest-living societies on Earth. It's very possible to get everything we need from plants, even without expensive supplements, as long as it's well-planned (the one caveat being B12 which, most animals are supplemented with anyway, so might as well just go to the source). Especially now, with the abundance we have available to us, it's easier than ever. Sure, thousands of years ago when we couldn't go to Trader Joe's, different story. And, yes, if I were in a survival situation I'd go with what's available. But with everything we have available to us, a well-planned plant-based diet is more than adequate and, in some cases, even preferred to a more animal-heavy diet. I did link to a bunch of studies in my previous video that go more in-depth with this, and I have some of those in mind as I write this comment, so definitely check those out to fact-check my point here!
At the end of the day, the science is clear that we benefit nutritionally the more plant-based foods we eat (for a variety of reasons). Not only do we benefit healthwise, but the environment and the animals benefit as well. Overall it's a win-win-win, as long as we know what we're doing. And if that means continuing to eat animal products, but having them more as a celebratory meal or a seasoning than downing a huge porterhouse, then those benefits will still be felt! Which is why plant-based is a more broad term than strictly vegan.
Anyways, thanks again for watching and commenting and hope that made sense! Appreciate your thoughts.
