Nutrition UA-cam has some serious problems that can harm the way you eat and live.
    And I'm tired of it.
So in today's video I'm going to dive into the ugly truth behind nutrition UA-cam and expose the unconscious problems it has created for all of us.
Then, I'll share solutions that will help you see your content more clearly and make more informed decisions about who to follow and what to eat.

I'd like to make the first comment about how you also didn't cover every single nuance of this topic known to man and put out there a "but what about this"... in honor of all of those comments who shall come after me.
And seriously say that this is a beautifully balanced take on many of the challenges we face in the world through the nutrition lens and I find this to be a life changing approach to how I live life and not just how I eat. ❤❤

Thank you for this video! Very thought provoking. I'm reminded of the fear of scarcity, running out to the store to stock up on products/items that I would not necessarily buy all the time.

Exactly! And to buy things others tell us to when don't necessarily need them

I appreciate the balance you offer in all of your videos---nutrition is important and so is fitting into groups, culture, and some social norms. Yes, rejecting food offered to us, especially during those sensitive times, may harm relationships that we don't want to harm. I tend to think of it as focusing on nutrition while being a human who is living life---it's not perfect and we can do our best at both.

I enjoyed seeing your coaching competencies and your personality combine seamlessly. You have a natural gift.

Your advice is realistic and well said! Applaud you on talking about the reality of extremeinism and putting yourself out there for the good of others.

I think there’s an assumption that people follow the advise they get wholesale, when I think most people take what they want and leave out the rest. I follow a lot of whole food plant based content, including yours, and I don’t eat that way. I’m vegan, but I do like my impossible meat and just egg, and I don’t see a reason to ditch them when my health is pretty good and my BMI is 20 at 40 years of age. I don’t wanna sacrifice the taste since that’s part of well-being as well, enjoying what you eat. Yet I understand that if I wanna take it to the next level, I can do the whole food plant based thing, and I expect to watch content that recommends the best, that’s what we should aspire to even if we don’t get there.
I almost never agree 100% with everything I watch, and even though I know I’m not everyone, I suspect most people are also more more discerning than we are giving them credit. The news and the algorithm will only show us the extremes, but as you well said, that’s not reality.

    Love this!!
Re: circle jerk. Isn't there a subreddit called "vegan circle jerk" ?
I understand where you're coming from, as a vegan running coach who does not actually use social media much myself outside of my business I struggle with... Making social media content!
I try my best to look at what I film or write as helping those who may share my values.
In regards to the optimization, it's also something I've struggled with. However in my career over the last few years I've realized to best optimize myself it's being on at 90% optimized 😆 But seriously, it's a weight off my shoulder and I mentally feel better not trying to be perfect. Just as you said, optimized does NOT equal "perfect"

      There is I believe 😂
I completely get the struggle, but I’m so glad you shared your perspective on it. Sometimes it’s hard to remember we’re providing value in a space that, well, doesn’t a lot of the times. And I’m working on recovering from perfectionism as well.
So glad your 90% rule is helping you work through that!

To an extent, yes lol. I try my best to buck these trends but don't always succeed 😅
