Before I bought this watch, Marc at Island Watch had a video about special ordering Damasko watches. I ordered this one with the red second hand and matching red-stitched leather strap, adding the bracelet later. It took a little over a month to get it but I really like the red.
You always make a great case for the watches you present! I’m not a big fan of the style or price of Damasko, but you’ve made the case for them being great watches whether or not they are someone’s style.
I had the lumed white-dial version at one time, which ticked every single box for me in spec terms. Sad to say, I never loved it, for all it's virtues, so we parted company. I learned something from that experience, but it's still the "best" watch I ever got to own.
I think it was Worn and Wound who went and visited the factory, it was a good video. Damasko doesn’t get enough credit for their level of quality. They make a model with a silicone hairspring.
In August it’s my birthday and I will be ordering a DA43 which is this watch with a white dial that is all lumed. It has an orange second hand and initially I will be getting it on the matching Hirst ‘Robbie’ rubber strap. The bracelet will follow, the level of engineering has to be felt in hand on these watches as you described. I cannot wait 😁
Absolutely love my Damasko DA36. Tank of a watch, 3 years old looks like new. My only beef is also the lume. You put those arabic numerals on there they need to be lumed. I might be one of the few people who is not a fan of the bracelet. I found it to be Uncomfortable and hard to get a perfect size And I tend to wear 90% of the time on the strap. If they changed out the butterfly strap for something with micro adjustments I think it would be perfect. Great watch though
Great video rob! I love your channel and I love damasko and it’s great to see you doing more vids featuring them! My favorite model is the Da34 on bracelet
everything is nice... except one thing! non-tapering bracelet... its an important feature, when the bracelet does not taper it makes the watch look cheap and like every micro-brand out there.... whenever you see a nice bracelet on a higher end watch the bracelet always tapers, just don't know why the micros get this wrong.
steven uk1 Sorry to say but I prefer a bracelet which does not taper. Makes the whole thing look beefier and more meaningful and I like that. Bought the Oris Aquis after they made the bracelet taper more but I would much prefer the Mk1 bracelet! I can see why people prefer it as it’s said to be more comfortable, guess it boils down to personal taste I think. 😉
The question is which do u choose the sinn 104 with Arabic or the damasko, and the white face damasko Lume is insane which sucks becuae the black is so much better looking in my opinion. But I haven’t been able to choose now for months between the 2
@@matthewhill3996 agree with the bracelet arguement, especially because to me the 104 is better on a strap. However, I think I've decided on the 104. When I think about the appeal that it has, I see it as a better long term choice. Is it the better watch? Probably not! But the 104 is just so charming.
@@RandomRobReviews that’s cool I like the polished one but I believe for everyday we’re and tear the Matt, would suit my lifestyle a little better. Thanks now I have to find a dealer in Toronto! Lol
I wish they still had three-handers in their range with Arabic numerals. This one is not a current model. The current range have batons only and too many batons in my opinion.

Thanks for the follow up. The red was a great choice indeed
Ye I bought the DA46 with blue second hand on the leather strap, absolutely love it
Damasko = some of the most underrated watches
Agreed
And so is Sinn (we watch nerds know both brands, but Joe on the street never heard of both brands)
@@cedarcanoe who cares what Joe knows ;-) Damasko looks killer and I consider ordering one next year.
Damasko and Ball, crushing it from the shadows
I dont know that I would call them "underrated" just unknown. I don't think I know of anyone who knows who they are and doesn't think they are amazing

Most of the German watches I have looked at are very well built.
I've never seen a watch scream engineering and quality this much

Super cool tool watch. Love the way the metal looks with the ice hardening.

These are insane good
I’ve always liked and respected Damasko. I really enjoyed this video. Cheers !
More tool than a wrench, great watch. Look at those screws on the bracelet!

Thanks Jay. Not sure they make a bad watch? Lol
Very nice watches indeed. I kinda think the white / full lume dial is the way to go on these since then you get the visible numerals.
I have the exact same model , and it has quickly become my favorite piece, the only negative I have is, the clasp is embarrassingly hard to open!
That`s how a date should be positioned in a watch face.
True tool watches to the max. Love this brand. I've been looking at Damasko for a while now. But still don't have one. Crazy not to....
They check all of the boxes, and some boxes you didn’t even know about.
Same here - looking at the DA45 full lume dial but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
The bezel has ceramic bearings.
You can ask damasko to customise the secondhand.
Love the damasko watch, but the extra price for the bracelet is a kick in the nards!!
This ones tempting if it's gonna be on the Sunday sale.
😉
OMG I’m absolutely in love with this one. Kind of wish it was 42 or 44mm though as it might be a little smaller than I typically do but its gorgeous
Just bought this bad boy and the guy threw in the 700$ bracelet free 🤠
Now that's a watch! Ticks all my boxes. Definitely going to hunt one down.
Really like both this watch and the Sinn. Tough choice.
No wrong choice
Love those Damaskos. Just waiting for a good deal.
Sunday? Lol
@@RandomRobReviews What's happening on Sunday Rob?
Jee Paik
Sunday sales
@@RandomRobReviews watchmann? Where?
Jee Paik here, I do sale video every Sunday.
I own the older DK 10, on Leather Strap, i love it
Fine Looking watch- what’s the main differences between this and the DC58?
Not sure if I like this model or the DA44 which has no numerals on the dial. Leaning toward the DA44 as it is less busy but this is rockin too.
Super potent watch

Me? Sinn 104 with Arabic’s. I want another dial color option with numbers.
This is an older model, the new models have the numerals lumed.
@Sezetcik: Absolutely not true - the only Damsko watches that offer lumed numerals are the "special edition" DB-series watches.
Rob I can't decide between the sinn 104 and this damasko. If you had to pick one which would it be and why??? Thanks!
I picked Sinn 104, I prefer the look and size more. More bling. Both watches are killer no wrong choice.
Agree it looks nicer. I feel like the movement is too basic for the price but not a huge deal I guess

Down the road I’m looking to get the three hand model SI
I like that Sinn 104 you got in that has a brushed case. Was that customized by someone or do they come brushed!?
They have a “matte” case model.

I’m curious, did you put it on your timegrapher
Yes
+5 dial up. Very healthy numbers
What.... $700 for Bracelet?
I wish they still had three-handers in their range with Arabic numerals. This one is not a current model. The current range have batons only and too many batons in my opinion.
I can't question the quality on these but the hardened steel really darkens the steel. I think I prefer your old Sinn 104 with the arabics.
MrBacchus18 can’t compare those 2. The DA46 is the level of Sinn’s 857 series (856 if you don’t want the bezel)
@@cedarcanoe Maybe can't compare them on features but I prefer the Sinn 104 on looks.
Badass watch but pricey with bracelet ouch!
How would you compare the bezel action on this to a Monta?
Similar
Hmm I would be worried about no micro adjustment on the bracelet.
Good concern, links are so small you will get it close easily
Yes especially considering the bracelet by itself is $600
