I have an 07 E63 wagon. Initial maintenance was horrible. And they are kinda fragile. But the engine's been fine. In my 5 years with it, nothing on the engine has failed. The N/A 6.3 L V8 is a marvel. It was designed by the same guy who designed the V10 in the Porsche Carrera GT. Really one of the greatest engines ever made.
@@itsreallyjakub a bunch of electrical gremlins. I'm told that the E55 doesn't have as many as the E63 so that's good for you. Other stuff was the fuel pumps, the air shocks, and some other air suspension gremlins. Still love it, though. Similar to you, I brought my son home in it. Don't think I'll ever sell it.
Fire setup you got there. Keep these E55 wagon videos coming. Just got my E55 AMG wagon for Xmas (after many years of searching for the right one to come by), 05' White with VRP mods, E63 exhaust, and 1" lowering link. My kids love it; especially when I let them ride in the 3rd row.

Funny thing, just last year I was battling with the exact same decision. I previously had a W211 which I absolutely loved, and only let go because it was totaled in an accident with a moose, and it was going to be either another one of those or a newer model. Partly inspired by you guys' video on TheStraightPipes, I ended up getting a 2019 E63S wagon. I absolutely love the car, but if I'm being totally honest, I got a bit jealous watching this video. The classic Mercedes look of the W211, especially in the front, and the hood ornament... it just does it for me. Anyways, congrats on the car and the setup!

The E55 doesn’t look as good as the later E series cars, but that supercharged 5.4 makes up for a lot. They also look much better as a long roof. Love it!

I like the E55 Wagon better than the C63 Wagon…nice choice with the OEM rims for your summer setup…I liked the JDM grille on the E55…I have no idea what car is calling your name but I think you would dig an Audi R6 Wagon.
It instantly turns white though. Maybe some weird white balance thing with the camera. Also only does it when it goes through the mufflers which I never use closed so maybe the packing is still burning off lol
@@itsreallyjakub if its only at startup. especially only when motor is cold, could be valve stems seals. Oil leak past the valve stem and into the ports. They're cheap to replace and make a great video. Have to pull the head off though.

Ha no. But I did use that to convince Indy shops that Mercedes AMG wasn’t scary. I’m not sure if you ran into it but when you’re calling around asking about differential rebuilds, they kind of shut down when you use the word Mercedes.
Where in Canada do you live that you can swap to Summer tires already? Here in Vermont, we just got 2 feet of snow and I know most of Canada is still getting a lot of snow for the next month or so. Stoked wagon though, and also we never recommend just using the hydraulic jack to keep the car up. Should always use jack stands once it is jacked up. Just saying on that. Next wagon for you is a 2015 Volvo V60 Polestar?

Great ride. Looks awesome. I’ve been eyeing them for years but, as you note, in the US they are very expensive. Fortunately, now with F-Pace SVR and SQ7 prices dropping so aggressively there are other fun options. Not wagons but great V8 monsters nonetheless.
The JDM front grill is low key sick though. I’d have kept it. My guess - CTS-V Wagon? And don’t forget the M5 Touring is right around the corner! Just incase your budget becomes 200k in the future. Ha
For someone wanting to get into an m113k car, check out an S55 AMG. They go for less than 13k all day. I picked my S55 for 7k but requires some non critical repairs. E55 have the youtuber tax.

Those clear your brakes? I find they didn’t offer any wide sizes I wanted and the offsets wouldn’t clear my big amg brakes

No smoke on start up. These were engine fully warmed, cold weather revs, only when the valves for the mufflers were closed
