Great car! Fantastic build... I love it! Back in the late 80's-90's I was selling Fox bodies out of Brown Bros. with bolt on Paxton supercharger kits. The belts were the issue - often blowing off.. Important for your DYI viewers - don't forget to Never Touch the O2 sensor with your fingers...handle with a spotless clean paper towel only... Your skin oil will burn onto the O2 sensor and that can affect the data it gathers... Gale Banks did a bunch of testing of intakes, and determined after placing thermocouples in the intakes and underhood on many different vehicles, that there is at least a 5% loss of power when the engine is sucking in Hot underhood air... cold air intakes are in place to supply ambient temp air to the intake... not 250 plus (F) underhood air... and in traffic, Banks showed that underhood temps often exceed 400F!

15 PSI is the max Eaton will take. Anything more and it overheats and you start losing power. The next thing you should consider is porting the blower. Maybe adding a chill kill to keep everything cooler? I know Stiegemeier has a venom cooler which keeps the supercharger like 100 degrees cooler.
No, he really should just get a proper Whipple 5X or Gen6 2.9/3L along with the cooling, injectors and a new pump, (and a better tune with legitimate software) make a quick 600+ at the tire on pump and then get a smaller pulley and have an E85 tune for that....if you want to port a blower, port the Whipple....or just get a bigger Whipple from the jump 😅 That poor Eaton is tired....save it for a project or sell it on fleabay
Cool car, looks good sounds awesome and makes a lot of power… you have got to stop guessing what the crank HP is and what the Dyno jet power may be. You have it measured, you have numbers stick with those! It’s like when a kid puts a cold air intake on their heap and add 15hp to the manufacturer numbers.
I have a 2004 cobra I also have the same intake you have and what I did to guarantee that I always have cool ambient air going to that air cleaner with the cover on. the opening next to the fog light you can buy brake cooler Tubing hook it up to that opening instead of running it to the break run it up through the bumper and into the opening next to your air filter. It’s almost like a ram effect and you almost always have cooler air going to your air filter than what’s available under the hood. My car made 468/501 rwhp/tq
You're building this exactly how I'd do it. Not too much. Just enough to make her a little spicier to keep up with today's cars. Btw, if you decide to swap the blower at some point, I call dibs on buying that one for my "new" LS 430. 💯🤣🤣🤣🤣 6'11/2"😎
Highly recommend you add a bottle of water wetter or amsoil dominantor coolant boost to your coolant(both supercharger and engine)... It'll lower the surface tension of the coolant which will allow the coolant to "stick" to the metal surfaces of the block, sc, and rad better, thus allowing more effective heat transfer in the coolant. I've seen it (amsoil dominantor coolant boost) lower coolant temps as much as 13°f on a 2000 camaro.
I purposely put a quieter exhaust on mine just so I can hear the supercharger more 😄 i have two videos on my page if you want to hear it - one before the SC swap and one after the SC swap
Remove the shield on the air filter and remove the passenger headlight if you want a bump in power while on the road fresh outside air will lower IAT i have seen 20-30 degree iat reduction
If you listen to your wife as well as you listen to the comments on your vids (spot on, by the way), she is in love with you ;) You're killing it. Well done.

Congrats! They’re very different. The cobra is awesome and I love the fact that it has back seats to take my wife and son. The sound is perfect. The C6Z is just an animal though. Feels much more like a sports car. Handles much better. Basic mods and maintenance are much more expensive. Trunk space is incredible but no back seats. I love both but it really depends what you want out of the car. Comparing stock for stock, the C6Z rips way more if that’s what you’re after

That's not some crazy high technical engine builder knowledge, everyone knows cold air is denser air and creates more power (on gas and ethanol, not methanol) Edit, before the dyno pull.... you'll make more HP from the tune, not from the pulley, that miniscule difference in pulley size is probably going to net you maybe 0.5lb of boost, maybe at best, a pound... the tune (if it wasn't already tuned) would net you more of a gain if properly done. Personally, I would've (if staying cheap) searched out a lightly used Kenne Bell or Whipple blower on eBay or whatever you canuks use up there for car parts, swapped that on with some injectors and a pump upgrade, and made _substantial_ gains without even a pulley, and then messed with a small pulley on an e85 tune with a bunch of timing added. Simply getting away from a roots blower to a screw blower, especially upping it's displacement....huge gains just from the swap of the blower itself.
@@itsreallyjakub you only made that 2hp gain in that instance because the hood was open and the filter element had access to that fans air, if you would've shut the hood it would've dropped due to the heat soak. If you want to run an open element for more intake noise, buy a JLT cold intake, but I'd really just suggest not messing with the "little stuff" and just swap to a Whipple 3L blower, you can probably find one used as that Cobra is an older platform. Whipple, injectors, fuel pump, retune on a _actual_ ECU system like MS3 Pro which will allow you or your tuner full control of engine parameters unlike a little silly plug-in your tuner suggested (IDK why he told you to get that thing, especially when you wanted launch control and it was available in above mentioned ECU and also Haltech). Your tuner is either completely out of the loop of actual tuning (wanting to stay with a plug-in), is one of those guys who "won't tune a car properly on a standalone because _they_ say I'm not allowed to" , or he's too lazy to learn the actual tuning software out there that's popular (MS3 PRO is MegaSquirt). But you would've had access to your ability to create launch control, 2 and 3 step, flat-shifting, rev limits during burnouts specifically, different traction controls, being able to control a water/meth injector, being able to control E85 flexibility ECT ECT ECT
So - all in - IF someone had to pay for everything - what would this have cost a normal person. (Parts, tuning, installation, detailing, wheels, tires etc...)
