The fan I was taking about is the Secondary Air Injection pump not the main radiator fan* I noticed I said fan instead of the pump which has a fan in it that spins and sound like a fan*
The fan is supposed to keep going bro wtf 😂😂😂 it’s a e55 the engine cools itself for 3-6 mins after you power off the hellcat is also like this . Don’t damage your engine

Two weeks after i bought my e55, the air suspension went out, and then it started leaking gasoline out the fuel pump. It's definitely a fun daily otherwise.
Im torn on getting something like this to replace my clk500... or a 2011 c63 amg... i do think the E55 would be more reliable, but the c63 would be a little newer so idk but it will need to make this choice soon i gotta sell my clk500 plus a 08 S550!
Yea the E55 will be more reliable hands down. It also doesn’t have any known issues other than maintenance. Other thing is, it’s faster than a NA 63. In terms of how new or old maybe look at the mileage between the two
The high pitch noise coming from the trunk, also if you purchase that cigarette port charger it will tell you your voltage all the time to keep tabs on if something is not right
@ figured it out I have a bad ecm or wiring harness trying to find the right harness now 😂 not fun if you ever run into this problem ecm I’d no longer available from Mercedes or harness got ecm figured out now I’m trying to find the right harness now
Hear me out after owning the car the same months I got the alternator and u can put the 150 amps of s500 2005 it’s very cheap but if it’s not the regulator u need to change it never fix it even if he say fix it it won’t +my friends told me it’s normal problem cause I push the car to limit a lot
Yes, I’m sure yours has been changed at some point. Ask the owner if not, I’m not sure if Mercedes is still offering the free change. Air bags depends on if they have been changed yet. If they have been changed then that’s good. Bilstein air bags are the best, or you can convert to coil over
SBC pump is still covered under extended warranty as person above stated. Air bags arent an if but when they go out type of situation. Just replace with Arnott.

@@sebastianwitek9995 SBC pump only has that extended warranty in the US. It is a great car though, personally I wouldn't refrain from buying it just because of the SBC pump. Also doesn't mean it will definitely go out even if it hasn't been changed yet..

I owned a 2004 e55, loved that car.
SAI system can be totally disabled through DAS system, I suggest you grab one, allows you to do all kind of crazy stuff.
I disabled mine with the launch elite Benz scanner. DAS will be a nice investment, gotta get it at some point soon

Funny enough, my CLS55 same problem -alternator. Got the smell as well. It was a loose terminal on the main battery in the back
ended up burning out the alternator, but now back on the road as well

Loose connection increases resistance, therefore loading the alternator and generating heat

only use bosch alternators and u can get around pulling the radiator by removing upper radiator support and fan and leaning it forward.
Yep ended up getting a brand new Bosh alternator. But the problem was the BCM

They last very long and tend to not have issues. Keep up with oil changes and maintenance when the engine asks for it and they will last
Would recommend a gearbox oil change before the remap, but remap - totaly worth it. My one has full torque from 2000rpm. Just rips
Gearbox oil change was done about 5k miles ago including the filter and 13pin connector. Are you also stock with just a tune?

I paid 13 grand with 97k miles on it.
Did you replace the shocks with new air bags or switched to coil over?
I switched over to bc coilovers.

That’s weird, might depend on your setup or the led you got. I believe mine I just have the led and works great. My E55 I needed the led decoder

There are a bunch on eBay, you just have to match your part number on yours to the BCM on eBay. Only numbers that need to match is the A#

SBC pumps are covered under warranty extension through Mercedes for 25 years so If you have an 03 it’s covered till 2028
