Thanks for the test. I'm not sure how to test it, but it would be great to see which motor is the quietest. That is one of my top concerns when buying a TM.
Excellent test. For the sake of completeness and to placate some of the whiners pls specify the exact models tested, the prop used, the battery voltage, prop shaft length, and indicate if all tests used the same batteries and they were fully charged prior to test.Motor specifications are based on a number of variables in a lab setting which can vary by company. I personally prefer to rely on the results of your test provided the additional data is supplied. As a follow up it would be nice to include Motor Guide and Lowrance.
Great video, the only thing I question is the last test. The Power Pole had a higher pulling force against a post, so it should have won our over the Garmin in the pull off. Were the batteries the same?
I'm concerned about durability over time. I'm got a very dependable 2019 Riptide Terrova. Only thing Minn Kota has replaced under warranty is two remotes. I run a wired foot pedal as well. I'd like to upgrade however I fish everyday and need a dependable unit.
Thanks for the test. I am looking for a replacement. I had a Rhodan that had an electrical fire and smoked the unit after 5 minutes. Never again. Boat fires are scary. Which one is most reliable? Which one has the longest warranty?
Did the angle between the boats and the lines holding the boats to the marker pole remain constant between brands? Were the trolling motors aligned with the keels of each boat for the thrust test? Since the lines holding the boats and scale to the markers and the motor thrust vectors were not parallel, your thrust numbers are a little low. Overall, a pretty good test.
Your view is noted but subjective...just like mine. I have had three 36v Minn Kota on two different Ranger Bays. I had to have all of them rebuilt. I now have a Rhodan for the past three years. It is def holding up better. Ocean or inside. What it does not have is a Jack Rabbit go button. Prob why it was behind in the 300yd shoot out. They should have said. Hard to believe everything on the internet when sales/money/kickback is at stake.
@@Jasonbe71 Yes, I fish offshore and inside. I power up with one 36v 100ah battery. Ultimately the fish don't care what we pull up in and they always get the last say. Saying that, I would like to have seen if there was a sound/decibel difference underwater between these motors...for inshore fishing. Thanks
They all loose. They are so overpriced and break all the time. They are becoming like cars. Can someone just make a simple one that is reliable and doesn't cost a fortune.
Motorguide Xi5. I've owned one since 2018 and still going strong. No frills, just a solid spotlock trolling motor. Only thing I've had to replace is the remote. Foot pedal is not good, but I only use the hand remote anyway. It's not a cool kids trolling motor but it works.
Not to many folks comparing these things heads up.
Thanks for giving an overview on them.
Thanks for taking the time. I use every bit of information I can get my hands on to make a decision. Appreciate it

Awesome to see a head to head. Would have loved a much more comprehensive review and a bit more info but this is the best I've seen by far.
The garmin Kraken 90 is an awesome
Motor! Holds my 30’ cat no problem. Would also run the power pole if they offered a longer shaft.
So many haters, Great comparison!
Not a hater but if you create test put full information out or it is incomplete information test

Would love to see a, retail availability, test for offshore (larger boat) shaft models. Would be interesting to see the results.

The best thing I've done is install the alternator charger on my boats.. The trolling batteries charge while the motor is running.
Would have loved to see a pull test against minn kota. Great info though!

great review, weight of the actual unit might be interesting to know.
Excellent video!
What about the Motor Guide? Why were they not included?
Where's the ghost?
I can take my Rhodan to Sarasota and drop off in person at the actual factory… where would I do that with garmin or minn Kona

Dont sleep on the Tourpro great motor.. yes some have had problems but no different than anyone else
Yea that thing went crazy.
What a useless incomplete test, where is model ? Voltage each? Rated Thrust? No motor specs at all.
Click the link dummy
All 36v man only 2 have posted thrust rates all brushless except rhodan
A lot of effort for that comment lolz
Where is Lowrance Ghost
Pretty slack tide for those test.. lets see the results in a 12 kt current
Great test, was that a Force or Kraken from Garmin?
JUST CURIOUS WHY MOTOR GUIDE WASNT INCLUDED IN THIS TEST?
It doesn’t compare to these.
Garmin was the strongest, fastest. But also used the most energy.
Yep, strength and speed come at a cost.
They spent some time on this. Should have spent more time.
🤔Curious why you didn’t have Motor Guild in the test?🤔
Maybe they just have 4 boats and MotorGuide is kind of aged.
@@axscdvfb that’s a good point,maybe 👍
They probably don't sell motor guide
@@FoshowFishing that’s a great point 👍
this is pretty bad. a lot of missing info about the trolling motors and subjective when it comes to the results. not scientific.
I’m just surprised the Rhodan held together long enough to run the test. That product is a POS

Do you take yours offshore? Maybe the offshore pounding is what kills them

I am not brand biased either. Rhodan trolling motor...Minn Kota Raptor anchors...Garmin electronics.
Where is the ghost?😢
not saltwater rated I believe
Seriously, no image of the race 😂😂😂😂
If these motors were not broken in, the results would be different
Which model Garmin was used?
Kraken 90 is what it looks like.
No accuracy test? lol
Rhodan was the worst money spent . Never never again . Worked 10% of the time in the last 4 years !!! Never ever again !!!
Garmin would loose on reliability there is always issues with them.
Lol...mines 5 years old , zero problems.
Lmbo

Garmin is very unreliable
Minn Kota is probably most reliable
Not scientific at all. Surprised if one of these manufacturers doesn't sue you.
Lowrance Ghost ?
