    Gerad (did I spell that correctly)? Your review was dope! I loved the different rooms and outside settings you brought us through. Your presentation was swift, succinct, simple, and superb. I am not a real estate professional. I am shooting full body exercise videos, in a tiny space (4x4 meters). I've tried everything. The best quality I could get was from the Sigma 16mm. But, I still cut off my head or feet. I've looked at 9mm and 10mm but the vignetting and other distortion reviews turned me off. I'll try your suggestion and grab the Samyang. Thanks for an awesome tour.

    • @JaredHoyman
      @JaredHoyman  4 роки тому +2

      I had the same question before I bought it and the answer I received from Dustin Abbott's channel when he did the review on the lens is that the EF version has less elements, more flare, but does have a very slight larger field of view. Where as the RF version is a slightly smaller field of view correcting some distortion issues and more elements in the glass preventing excessive flare. I hope that helps answer your question. I do know that the EF version needed a firmware updates after it was released to correct communication problems with cameras where the RF came with those updates already in them.

    • @EdBareff
      @EdBareff 2 роки тому

      For real estate, you will want to stop down to around f8 so don't worry about a large aperture. If you are just getting into it go with the 16mm canon rf. If you can spend a little more go with the canon 14-35 f4. If you want shallower depth and have a higher budget go with 15-35 2.8 rf.

      Mike Harris research “flambient” Rich Baum teaches it well. How to blend one flash and one ambient shot in photoshop. And I think that 16-35 you have is perfect for the job in both photo and video. Wider is not always better when showing a house and sometimes stepping back ten feet and zooming a bit in makes a space look more natural and inviting with compression, something most clients will appreciate. Also Pece photo is helpful and Nathan Cool.

R5 has improved but there is no way it could stand 30C+ of heat and direct sun while filming. R5 II should overcome all of these problems but then the biggest problem remains which is the lack of 3rd party support as there are many amazing lenses that aren't found on RF nor Z from Sigma, Tamron, Samyang, Viltrox etc. It's something you shouldn't worry about if you have all the lenses and capabilities you need with your current body whether it's Canon, Sony, or Nikon.

      I have the Laowa 7.5mm for my GH5, which is a 15mm equivalent on a full frame. Samyang/Rokinon is better because you have the option of autofucus which the Laowa does not. Also, 14mm is a big difference from 15mm in width.

      Samyang has autofocus which is a win and you can fix distortion in post. I will say I now use the Canon 15-35mm 2.8 rf and I can't believe how sharp and beautiful the image is plus the dual image stabilization with the R6 is amazing. If you can justify that for $2300 US go for that.

      11 would be great in some situations. I shoot with the 15-35 rf now for versatility. 90% at 15mm and 10% at 24-35 for different perspective.
