Thank you for the comparison, but I still am not sure which one to get for my eos R. Primary use is taking interior photos of windows for my business. Thoughts? Im leaning towards the 14mm just because more glass seems better. I’ll be filming as well but really I want awesome photos for my website
Hi I’m getting into real estate photography for Airbnb. In 2-3 I’ll have a few photo shoots in Boston. I’m using eos r5 with canon EF 16-35 F4. I want to sell my lens and get the samyang RF 14mm F2.8 used. Cuz 16mm most of the time is just not wide enough. Especially for bathroom shots. Is that a good move ?
Honestly, this review style needs to be changed. It's all great that u have both, but you need to at least show us some tests? Sharpness? Focus speeds? Or just something? I have the 16, and I know it's RAW images suffer terribly from distortion and vignetting. Would have actually been useful to show us if the samyang/rokinon is better or worse. Just my thoughts
@@timriddick2 so then, you should’ve added “for videos” in the title because I clicked this video to see comparisons for photos. Even for videos only, you should’ve given a comparison test for videos
Hi Tim. Greetings from Jakarta. Great video indeed, very informative. May I know whether owning the Samyang 14mm will require a firmware lens update via lens docking? Coz I heard that for Samyang 85mm, we need to update firmware. Problem is, the lens docking is hard to find here and buying this means an extra cost. All in all, purchasing Canon RF 16mm seems a better option here. Your views, pls..thanks!
not a single example or comparison
Exactly what I was looking for! I have the Samyang 14mm, but considering the 16m
I was just like you! Lol. Glad I could be helpful!

*Why is it so impossible to get an ultrawide 12mm or 16mm prime for Canon that's at least F1.8* . . .?
P R E A C H. It's the most maddening thing about canon isn't? How can sigma do it and not canon??!?!??

Thanks for the comment. I said from the very get-go I didn't use it for photography. This is solely a film making thoujta
I was looking for this lens comparison
Me too! I couldn’t find it when I was searching for one so I made it hoping it would help someone.
So where is the lens test?? I want to know which is sharpest in the corners.
I never shot either for photography. Lens sharpness isn't as important to me as it is to others. I only used for filming my UA-cam videos.

Image quality and distortion though?
MfD of the RF 16mm is 13 CENTIMETRES, not "16 meters"
Good vid. I bought the Rokinon/Samyang around Christmas. I love this lens. The wide angle really is fun to use.
Thanks for the watch and I completely agree with you! It’s a great lens
I don’t have both. Looking for a lens that can help with landscape and night / astrophotography. Considering Samyang. What’s your take.
You can’t go wrong with the Samyang! It’s a wonderful lens
@@timriddick2 thanks for your quick reply. It helps.
You could have made the best video ever of this topic, but you forgot to put sample images of both lenses taken at the same situations.
Great video. Thanks for recording it.

Not that I know of
.2 meters vs 16 meters??
That’s not a small difference.
This is a worthess review...no info on image quality for both lenses....nothing !
Point de vue complètement inutile...
sweet =)
